Chapter 32 Unfamiliar Alicia (2)
After covering himself, Kreed planted his gaze on the other accompanying persons.
Each of them looked unique and interesting. One key detail that screamed out to him was the oddness of his and Alden's skin color.
They looked pale and ghostly, almost like a corpses that had been drained of their blood. Compared to the individuals In front of them who's skin were either a lusterless brown, a subtle black or a beautiful tan. They were definitely the oddities. From Kreeds perspective he could understand why he would be pale. After all he hadn't seen the sun in over ten years. Alden's case of paleness however couldn't be explained, well not with the little information he knew about him.
Another simple detail that Kreed noticed was the uncanny symbol of stars and dots plastered somewhere on their body or uniform.
According to Alden this symbol was the logo of the Unchanging Odium.
As Kreed was recalling what he remembered, the voice that had ridiculed Alden before spoke out again. Kreed found that it belonged to a chiseled lady with an olive skin tone. She had an athletic build and a flurry of scars and bruises that seemed to be healed, yet a mark remained. She fit the perfect image of a warrior that Kreed had made in his mind. She wore a simple track pants with a tight tank top that made her busty chest stand out. Her black Raven hair was pulled together into a ponytail allowing for the delicate yet alluring features of her face to be seen. She had a very pronounced jawline that contrasted beautifully with her small but striking eyes. The contours of her cheeks and her slightly high nose bridge made her look like a complete model. From what kreed could tell, he assumed she was around twenty five years old, or maybe even more, but her mature features gave of an immense beauty. Well as far as beauty went, Kreed could easily say that she was the most alluring female he had ever seen. Well he hadn't seen much in the first place and the memories he had of those on apostle island was all tainted by the traumatizing sight of their corpses. Taking a deeper look at the woman that had spoke, Kreed noticed that the Unchanging Odium symbol was tattoo on her left shoulder and there was a small bracelet that resembled a coiling snake on her right hand. Looking into her eyes Kreed could tell that she was ruthless, the gaze she cast on him was different from the others. She wasn't judging of criticizing him, instead it seemed that her eyes were silently cursing him for making Alden arrive a few hours late. From first impressions Kreed could tell that he wanted nothing to do with her.
"Alden would u mind introducing us to your friend here?" The woman asked. Her voice sounded just as ruthless as she looked. From what Kreed remembered Alden had referred to her as Tista, the same Tista that had called him on the communicator while they were on the grape.
"Ohhh. Right, my bad. Everyone this is kre--- k, call him K. He'll be your care for a bit, so try to convert him as best u can alright?"
Suddenly Kreed shivered. Even he had forgotten that he had requested that Alden keep his name a secret. Well at least he remembered.
"K? What a strange name." Hearing this remark Kreed turned to look at the voice's owner. It was a man of adequate height, wearing the same uniform as Alden, and the other man who had given him a robe.

This officer however didn't wear a hat, instead like Alden his hair was wild and unkempt, his hair was a dirty blonde color and the excessive hair covered his ears. He had a plain round face with surprisingly round and deep eyes. They had a slight hue of blue, and his gaze contained incredible judgement. Kreed had instinctively contrasted him with the image of a noble clansman. He had small but noticable lips and a scruffy beard that covered his lower face. Kreed could tell that he was brought up in an extremely rich family, his bearing and countenance was that of a lavish and opulent noble, who viewed everyone else as being inferior. Of course Kreed knew that first impressions were unreliable and often misguided. However he couldn't help but scowl inwardly.
"Where did you pick him up? At a graveyard?" Asked the blonde officer, with obvious disgust.
Instantly the hope of being wrong about the man, was shattered. Kreed wanted to face palm.
Alden shifted a bit before saying, "he's one of us now, so I wouldn't advise you make such jokes."
Before he was done talking Kreed saw the woman who he believed to be named Tista, turn slightly and kick the blonde officer in the shin.
"Goddammit Evermore.. that fu*king hurts." The blonde officer blurted out while grasping his shin and hopping in pain.
Tista spoke once more. "I warned you multiple times about your lack of dignity."
Seeing this odd situation on fold Kreed was baffled. Lack of dignity? Isn't it because he has to much dignity that he thinks he can speak down on others? That's quite ironic. Wait what did he call her? Evermore? Suddenly Kreed was confused. Is that her surname? I've definitely heard of the Evermore family before. They were a part of the Heurio clan right? Hmm I should probably confirm it. Kreed reminded himself inwardly.
Breaking his train of thought Kreed heard the blonde officer retort.
"I, was only being honest, he doesn't even look like he speaks Nahte."
Hearing this, Tista turned to Alden as if enquiring. Alden who was smiling as if he had been entertained by the little scuffle, nodded slightly.
Suddenly Kreed saw the pained expression of the blonde officer grow dark.
Kreed basking in the turn of events, suddenly notice the fourth person start moving.
She walked up to Alden, hugging him for two seconds before turning to face Kreed.
Kreed who didn't expect this looked back at her in anticipation.
Suddenly he heard her speak. "He smells funny." A chilling silence surrounded them. No one dear to speak. Even Kreed who hadn't interacted with humans in over 10 years, and had grown distant to emotions and feelings, was momentarily stumped. Did she have to be so direct? Couldn't she at least sugar coat it?
Many strange thoughts flooded his mind, some worse than others.
What does she mean I smell funny. Shouldn't I smell putrid or disgusting? I have the stench of apostle island on me after all.
As the silence grew more unsettling he her speak once again.
"He kinda reminds me of Ogbu, hehe."
Kreed was inwardly terrified. Ogbu? I feel like I've seen that name somewhere before. Hmm I don't feel good being compared to it doh.
Kreed finally had the chance to notice her fully. The reason Kreed was scared of her wasn't because she looked mean or anything but because of the carefree and unapologetic attitude she displayed, while being a child.
That's right the fourth individual was a child, a small girl around the age of 8, well that's what he suspected anyway. She wore a small black robe with a hood that was tucked under her hair. She had a head of short silky black hair that reached the nape of her neck. On the top of her head there was a simple hair pin with an owl shaped trinket on it. Her skin was white, but not to the extent of Alden or Kreeds own. Her lips were full and pronounced, and on them a coat of red lip gloss was smothered. Her nose was tiny and her eyes large, almost as if she could see every detail about Kreed. Looking into them Kreed was horrified, there wasn't the ruthless that Tista exuded, the deep years of knowledge that the cap wearing soldier possessed or the uncalled for disgust that the blonde officer exhibited. Instead Kreed saw something much worse, there was the unscrupulous intent for desire. She reminded Kreed of Alden back when he was facing the gigantic creature. Alden had been smiling the whole time enjoying the fight, and desiring more.
And now the eyes of the girl who had called him smelly, was the exact same. And worse yet she contained an indescribable feeling of idleness. As if in the next second she would throw him into the water just to get some temporary satisfaction. Kreed was sure of it, he had to keep as much distance between himself and the young girl. She's going to be annoying. As Kreeds expression was about to
collapse he heard the girl ask, "where are u from k?"
