Chapter 25 second threat

How incredible.

Kreed had just witnessed Alden's insane power, and now he was going to see it once again. But first he had to get to the grape for safety.

Reaching the stone platform that led to his trusty boat, he began to climb.

"Ha, it seems my analysis of the situation was wrong." From what Kreed had confirmed from Alden. It turned out that the stone moat that the vessel called point Reyes was currently rested on. Was not only alive but was also a very dangerous creature at that. He hadn't even considered that option when entering the vessel and seeing the stone moat for the first time. What exactly did he say? Oh right. He had thought that the boat had somehow rammed into the moat accidentally leading to its inevitable seclusion and allowing for the bloody creature that came from the deport to kill all the vessel's inhabitants. But now that he knew that the moat was a creature, many new scenarios crossed his mind. Had the creature used the vessel as a lure? But then what was the bloody monstrosity doing there? From what Kreed knew most demonic creatures were hostile towards each other. Unless of course they were under the rule of an oppressor, but that couldn't be the case. The stone moat didn't look like it was related to blood in any way.

Kreed was absolutely confused. "Speaking of which why would Alden just jump into the water?" "Is he hubris, or stupid?"

After witnessing Alden's incredible showcase of power, Kreed was left with many strange thoughts. The most prominent being one of unbridled Faith. But even though he had been convinced of Alden's strength, and battle ability. He couldn't help but look at him as a reckless fellow. After all why would he go diving head first into the ocean alongside a creature so large that its tip, was capable of having a large portion of the vessel lay on it. Ha that idiot.

As Kreed tried to assemble his thoughts as well as climb onto the stone platform. He felt something strange. Turning to face the vessel's cabin he suddenly flinched.

God damnit. A repulsive bloody tentacle tore through the air, it's tremendous speed left Kreed without a second to dodge. However managing to react in time he moved his head to the left, causing the tentacle to strike at his right shoulder.

Argh. Suppressing a squeal, the limb of blood dug through Kreed's body appearing on the opposite side. He felt his ribs break and his clavicle shatter. As his mind was engulfed with pain he struggled to move. A second after the tentacle punctured his upper chest, he swung his metal rake. The blade sliced through the mass of blood with ease allowing Kreed a second to move. Straining his leg muscles, which were beginning to flood with adrenaline, Kreed dashed towards the bow of the vessel with all his speed. The bloody creature pursued him, releasing a few smaller tentacles that cut through the side of the vessels as Kreed dodged.

Reaching the open expanse of the bow, Kreed looked at the section of the Gunwale, from which Alden had jumped over board.

That bastard. I thought he said there was only one creature left.

As he faced the bloody creature head on Kreed noticed a few things.

The creature was a bit smaller than the one Alden had killed but, it was still growing. As it spread tendrils throughout the vessel's bow, it attached itself to the countless pools of blood sprawled across its surface. Noticing A tendril shot towards the pile of blood and soot that Alden had destroyed. Kreed scowled. The situation didn't look too good.

The one attack the creature had made. Was enough to put his right and prominent hand out of commission. His clavicle was broken, making his hands useless. And although he still had his left he doubted he could do much with it. His lungs were punctured making it hard for him to breathe and his mind was very busy. From where he stood he could attempt fleeing to the water, but with an injured leg and a completely broken hand, swimming was definitely going to be a challenge. Not to mention the fact that there was an even more dangerous creature held within its embrace.

The creature was blocking his path to escape as well. So now Kreed was in a predicament. The creature sent a barrage of sharp bloody tentacles towards Kreed once more.

Shit.

As he grasped the metal blade in his left hand, he felt his body move once more.

Dodging a couple of the tentacles and parrying a few others, he jumped to the left.

What?

What's going on? It happened again. God damnit.

Suddenly surging forward the creature sent an especially large tentacle towards him, and without a moment to think, his body moved once again, managing to avoid most of the tentacles embrace, he grimaced as a small part of his left leg was cut off.

Argh, damnation.

Using the last bit of strength and adrenaline that was kept in his body, he tossed the blade towards the creature. Who easily blocked it with a small tentacle. And as soon as the blade escaped his hand Kreed felt it once more. The indisputable sense of fear and terror that he had felt when first meeting the other bloody creature. And as if the blade was keeping his emotions in check he suddenly felt his mind weaken, and grow blank. He had lost too much blood and because it was so hard to breathe, he was sure that it wouldn't be long before he lost consciousness.

Right after the creature had dashed away the blade, it conjured an assortment of tendrils and tentacles from a nearby pool of blood that warped around Kreed's legs, causing him to lose balance and trip backwards. As he fell to his back, the creature moved again releasing more tentacles that assaulted his legs. They rip through him with ease breaking his bones and cutting through his flesh.

Alden, Alden, Alden. You bast-, hel- ,help me. Kreed who was being torn apart by the creatures attacks squealed. Yo-, you promised, you bastard. The creature grew closer relentlessly attacking. Kreed felt his, stomach being torn open by one of the tentacles. Then he felt his ribs shattering, and his nether regions being obliterated. The creature was thoroughly destroying every inch of his body. He couldn't feel his legs anymore and the pain which had assaulted his mind was gone. It seemed that his brain had been overloaded with pain stimulus. And now all he felt was the pain of his own mind. He couldn't breathe, couldn't see, couldn't talk and couldn't hear anyone. Everything was gone he could feel the creature's tendrils digging into his body, growing closer and closer to his head. His mouth was filled with blood, his eyes were gone as well the blood vessels in them had ruptured long ago alongside his eardrums.

Is this really it? Is this how it really all ends? After those ten long years? Am I going to die to a pile of blood in the middle of nowhere?

Ha how pathetic, and they call this fairness? The gods call this equality? What have I ever done to deserve this? From the day of my birth up to this point, I have never experienced fairness. So why do they make such false claims? Why do people make promises that they cannot keep? He said he would save me yet here I lye neglected and destroyed. How very unfortunate. I have nothing left to live for anyways at least it was a good run, no one would ever remember me, but at least I don't have any regrets.

Thoughts of this nature flooded Kreed's mind. But then he remembered, finally after so long, he finally remembered. The nightmare that had plagued him countless nights on apostle island was finally understood by his feeble mind. And as he understood, Kreed's mind was filled with unbridled, immense and pure rage.

I may not have anything to live for or any reason to continue this cruel life. But I can't stand to have such hypocrites live, whether they be men or gods, I must punish them all, for their false claims. I will not die, because the world is yet to know the wrath that I hold.

And with that the Meister of conviction churned, his spirit boiled and his mind became filled with a blazing rage.

If I am going to die here I might as well make it hard for you to kill me.

And so he summoned the simple peach. Kreed's whole body which was being ravaged by the bloody creature was filled with an, other worldly vigour. His mind was calm, his soul was peaceful, his eyes were cleared, his ears were healed, his mouth was emptied of blood.

His legs began to cure, his bones attaching back to their original positions. His arms and organs repaired themselves. And as he healed he suddenly heard Asterion's voice.

("You have conquered an, Emanated Horror, Remnant of the trickster.")

What? As he opened his eyes to peer at the creature he saw its bloody towering body, which was positioned meters above him suddenly crumbled into a pile of soot and blood completely covering him under the vile tissue.

Then asterion announced, once more.

("You have received a relic.")
