Chapter 27 kreeds suspicion
Alden who was completely drained, summoned a simple bronze cup. Drinking greedily it's contents, with a satisfied expression.
After dismissing the relic, he joined Kreed on the grape.
His golden glasses which were filled with a glinting sensation, had returned to it's original state, and his silver hair which had begun to glow at it's ends, was now a dull silver color and it's spikey texture had faded. Now Alden's hair played slumped on his head.
The sight was rather comical.
As he leaned against the back of the grape. He scowled.
Kreed who was still star struck, could only look at Alden in silence.
Many thoughts had crossed his mind when He saw the battle between the two monsters. But now he was utterly confused. Alden had surprised him, even surpassing his expectations.but some things didn't add up.
If the uniform wearing bastard could create a pillar the Size of a mountain, and completely corner a creature the Size of small mountain. Why hadn't he helped Kreed when he was being attacked?
Kreed was on the verge of death, yet not once had he intervened.
But to Kreed's knowledge he had made a promise to protect him, so why?? Kreed was utterly confused. He had thought about trying to kill the maniac, but with every attempt he could assimilate within his mind he would always lose. Alden was resting in the grape, completely drained. So this would be the best chance to attack, but from what Kreed had seen him do to the creature, aswell as the lack of a sever injury, despite the harrowing battle. Not to mention his incredible speed. Kreed couldn't even see him move, so he doubted that even in his current state he would be able do damage the white haired maniac, much less land a single hit on him.
After a few minutes had passed in silence, Alden finally spoke.
With a slight chuckle he said. Well that could have been bad. Good thing I didn't hold back.
Kreed turned to face him with a dark expression. Are you being serious? You completely decimated the creature. I don't think you were ever in serious danger.
Haha, k. That's where your wrong. Infact we were quite lucky to have stumbled upon the creature now, because if we had come any later things would be a different story. Replied Alden.
Shifting slightly Kreed spoke. Umm am not sure I understand what you're trying to say.
Alden chuckled once more. It's just as I suspected. The creature had consumed all of the crystals that the residents on the ship was carrying. It seemed that the creature was in a state of meditation, it was increasing in rank. So to be honest this was the best chance we could have had to fight against it. He turned to look at the corpse of the creature before continuing. If we had come a bit earlier before it began it's meditation we would have to fight a completely devastating Stulified Mammoth at its peak state. And if we had come after the meditation was completely we would be up against a descended mammoth. So In hindsight this opportunity where, we would battle a creature that had used most of its strength to upgrade it's cores was the best scenario. Although it's a bit sad to have lost all the soul crystals that Mr. Howl was transporting.

Gaining a bit of inspiration Kreed knodded. I see
Looking back at it now, this truly was a once in a million moment. Had Alden not focused entirely on the creature, he would have been the one on the losing end instead. It was as he had said, had they been a few weeks to early or late the battle would have had a completely different outcome.
But Kreed couldn't shake the feeling of unease, instead it was growing by the second.
Swallowing his fear he asked directly. Why did you leave me to die? You could have clearly aided me in the battle against the bloody monster, so why did you choose to let me die?
Alden who was leaning against the grape chuckled. I see, so that's what had you bothered. Well k, let me be frank, I did leave you to fend for yourself, but definitely not to die. Infact everything you did was being monitored by me, and I found it rather strange that you would not immediately choose to jump into the water, although i made it obviously clear, that it was safe.
What?? Hearing this Kreed immediately frowned.
How was it obviously clear?
Well for starters, exactly why do you think the creature only moved after you got into the grape? Wouldn't it have moved while you were fighting on your own?
Suddenly Kreed had an awful premonition.
Are you saying that you were holding it back beneath the water?
Yes, yes. You see after I realized you weren't jumping in, I deduced two scenarios, either you didn't catch on to what I had done, which seems to be the case, judging by your reaction. or you had some method fend for yourself. Which also seems to be the case. And it was definitely worth the wait.
I got to see you use one of those so called relics, that you got in your chance encounter.
It truly is Worthy of creating a diversion in the story. From what I was able to pick up from your fight, the relics main ability is to heal wounds. Although there are many such relics I have never seen one with such potent and effective methods of healing, not to mention none that could heal you instantly.
And while it's main attribute seems to be that of healing it was able to indirectly kill a corrupted creature. An emanated horror at that. A relic with that passive ability to kill corrupted has never been heard of before. Much less one that can heal you completely from mushed flesh.
As Kreed listened on, his heart continued to grow heavy.
Many unthinkable thoughts crossed his mind and even more sinister ones began to ignite.
Alden continued, let me be honest with you Kreed, I have never felt such a mystical and profound aura from a relic before. Well not with such a high divine magnitude. And I can assure you that if you reveal the abilities of the relic I would be willing to reward you handsomely.
Suddenly Kreed scoffed. You think I'll be fooled by you petty words? If you want to gain my trust, then answer me this. What would you have done had I actually not possessed a way to be healed? What would you gain from not intervening in the battle, where I perished? Wouldn't you lose everything? The knowledge of the ruins that I had kept, the relics that I possessed, and the many secrets I hold from apostle island.
Wouldn't your entire plan be worthless?
As Kreeds tone intensified a contented smile grew across Aldens face. After a moment of silence, he summoned a simple relic and handed it to Kreed. Suddenly a nodule of information entered his mind.
What is this? Kreed asked in confusion.
Calm down, quite a lot of things has been created and discovered in the ten years you were absent. That right there is a newly developed relic called a Francis note. It allows for the transfer of contracts and info without the use of a physical method. It directly sends the data to you mind. All you need to do is willingly accept it so that the transfer would be successful.
So what do I do? Kreed asked.
Simple just think about wanting the info, and it will be released.
Following Alden suggestions Kreed focused on the nodule on data, and moments later a flood of information was understood by him.
The data contained a single set of words, they were the description of a tamed that Alden supposedly possessed.
A tamed was sort of life form that could be subdued by things on the path of ascension. It was similar to relic in the fact that they also possessed ranks and special abilities. However as they were living existences, these tamed followed the ranks of ascension or corruption. Most tamed once subdued were easily commanded and others were capable of thinking on there own. None however could disobey there subduer. Tamed were similar to relics in that they were obtained by killing a being that awakened it's soul core. And so most tamed were creatures with a moveable body. Or one containg some sort of ability to interact with the physical world. However the Tamed present in the Francis note was a little different. It's description was similar to that of of a crown. It had a lusterless black metal frame, that looked extremely fragile. There was exactly one peak on this crown and this peak housed a small, dull gemstone. It had a hue of multiple colors that spiraled before combining and disassemblin
g. Looking deeper into the information Kreed saw the status of the tamed.
