Chapter 15 Ten Long Years

Chapter 15 Ten Long Years

In the wide expanse of a clear sea, a small boat parted the endless water with ease.

The sun was now almost fully risen, it's bright radiance showering the large ocean with it's blessings.

The grape flew effortlessly though the calm water. It's bow bouncing unpredictably every few seconds.

Kreed was sitting on one of the many bags he had brought from the island. Infront of him sat a large metal bowl filled with charcoal and a glossy pumpkin colored crystal. A simple grill rack was placed above the metal bowl. Large flames of fire rising from them occasionally.

On the grill laid two slabs of red meat. Alden had scavenged it from the dark lyre alongside the two crystals. It sizzled as the sparks of fire touched it's surface.

Kreed had never cooked a piece of meat before. Not did he smell something as alluring as it, in ten long years.

He was struggling to keep himself from drooling over the food. In fact he was desperately trying to stop himself from taking a bite from the raw meat. Kreed couldn't believe that such a magnificent thing had come from a creature as horrifying as the dark lyre.

Alden had given him the meat instructing him on how to prepare it. And now he was doing just that.

Many hours had passed since Kreed had escaped the treacherous fog of the ruinous island.

And in those hours he had learned many things from Alden.

The first thing he learned was Alden's identity.

He introduced himself as the ruler of an organization called the Unchaining Odium it's purpose being to follow some elaborate set of rules that he did not disclose.

It turned out that he was in control of the entire city of Alicia, gaining it's following after saving it from complete devastation 7 years ago. And so gaining the nickname great tank of Alicia. Because of this incident he was also recognized for his powerful abilities making it into the top 50 strongest powers in the world.

And in a couple of years he climbed the rankings to 8th place on the poles.

He explained that the world's strongest rankings was a system developed by the government of Oben to promote propaganda and increase the likeability of the top persons in the world.

Of course no one knew if the rankings were true or not especially since it only accounted for a persons displayed strength and feats.

Alden was placed 8 strongest in the entire world, based on the world strongest rankings and was speculated to rise even higher in the coming years.

According to Alden the only reason he even showcases his strength publicly is to gain favorability among the people decreasing the chance that he would be attacked by the other members of the top ten.

He also announced that the world rankings were totally wrong. Although they accounted for ones feats. The current number one hero hadn't done anything spectacular in over 17 years, in fact many believed him to be dead.

But Alden viewed it differently the more one concealed their power the stronger they may be. Kreed believed this as well.

Casting a strange glance at Alden Kreed scoffed.

"Hey, uhhh, how do I know when this is ready?"

Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

Alden who was steering the grape through the endless stretch of water, turned to Kreed with a strange smile plastered on his face.

"There's no way you don't know how to cook a lyre fillet, did you really only eat erations for ten years?"

Turning back to face the open stretch of water he continued.

"Must've been tough... Oh right look for a change in color it's best to over cook it, to not risk food poisoning. Dark lyre's in particular are known to be infested with parasites so we need to ensure the fire gets them all.

Am sure you would have no problem eating it as it is, you did survive ten years on Apostle island after all."

Kreed looked at the slab of meat once more.

'guess it's time to flip it'

Alden had revealed a lot to Kreed, but he still struggled to believe him entirely.

'is he really serious? Does he expected me to believe that he is the 8th strongest person in the entire world? Bullsh*t. I can admit that he's strong but, I doubt he'd even stand a chance against Dallas. He's probably just trying to get me to depend on him more.'

Kreed had a good reason to not believe Alden's words. He had educated himself about the top powers of the world while on the island.

He knew very well just how dangerous the top guilds were, he had seen many of their representatives before, and knew they would never allow for some random nobody to rise to their ranks without punishment.

Kreed was questioning everything Alden said, comparing it to the knowledge he had gained from the father of all, the insidious runes and the many books he had scavenged from around the island.

"Alden, if you don't mind me asking. What did you mean earlier?" Asked Kreed.

Alden who was still looking at the wide expanse of water spoke. "Earlier? what exactly are you referring to?"

"You mentioned that you need me for some special reason, or my relics at least."

Alden paused his movement suddenly. Then turned to Kreed.

"Say K, have you ever heard of the theory of parallelism?"

Thinking for a while Kreed replied. "I doubt it."

Alden smiled. "It's a simple theory that was developed by the great prophet Caelan over 2000 years ago. It states that the gods created Sihe-Rimaz to be completely balanced and steady. For each being equal opportunity is granted making even the strongest of cats completely fragile Infront of the weakest of rats. It was developed after he learnt the secrets of the world. Being one of the very few beings on Sihe-Rimaz to have ever reached the fifth step to Ascension. Becoming unchained.

Very few have made it that far and even fewer have gone past it.

The only records we possess of persons reaching the sixth step and becoming conquered, are of the 13 heroes who were chosen 800 years ago and blessed by the gods with powerful equipment and relics. Yet it was exactly because of that, that they died a fast death after accomplishing their tasks. Their bodies couldn't handle the power that came with being forcefully blessed by the gods and used to battle against the strongest wave of demons ever released through the gate in the western continent. This great war happened 500 years ago, and it's after effects left Sihe-Rimaz in complete rubble. Had it not been for the great wonders of the world it would take many more centuries to rebuild.

Yet that isn't the Important details."

Pausing for a brief second he glanced at the slab of lyre meat sizzling over the fire.

"After Caelan created his theory of parallelism, he also discovered something else. You see, while everything in Sihe-Rimaz is equal to the other. There's also the fact that once two things are equal then another can also be equal. However that begs the question if all is equal and balanced then what keeps said equality and balance in place? It's simple... the balance of another, and the equality of another then balances out the former. But that develops a problem what if one could somehow break said balance?

And so Caelan's second theory was born the theory called Beyond Parallel.

This theory was only revealed to a selected few, because the gods seemed to be infuriated whenever it was announced. Many speculate that Caelan was killed by the gods for his curiosity, since no trace of his death had be found. But many believe in other theories aswell. For example 1000 years ago a cult like group rose up exclaiming that Caelan had Ascended into the realm of the gods. They were quickly dispatch by one of the major clans at the time. But traces of their existence still remain.

Many others believe that Caelan died by the had of an assassin, since he had great knowledge to use against the major clans of the time.

However his death and entire existence is still a mystery even to this day.

The reason Caelan's second theory is so important is for a simple reason.

I suppose you haven't reached the second step of ascension yet so it will probably be a bit difficult to understand.

After the gods made the world, they placed the seven steps of ascension as a guide for their kin to use to become stronger eventually reaching the heavenly realm and obtaining eternal life force. However the alliance of a hundred thousand gods were bound to have some repercussions. You see K, with every decision that is made an equal and opposite reaction occurs. And Soo since all the gods life force was bound together, it allowed for their kin to grow endless stronger, but they also lost their bounds in the end. And Soo that allowed for persons to deviate from the original plan.

Becoming essentially unbalanced or beyond Parallel. The way this happens is through the breaking of a law. Any law that governs the world. And such beings are referred to as irregulars, as they have gone passed the stage of balance and equality."

Kreed listened to Alden intensely occasionally casting a glance at the cooking cut of meat.

It had began to gain significant color on it's lowerer side almost identical to the side flipped up. It was an alluring brown color with a little dark charged spots.

Kreed was paying attention but he couldn't help but be distracted by the two slabs of meat Infront of him.

Author's Note- Hey guys! ;) just wanted to add a little clarification. The beings I refer to as gods are mere deitys they in no way compare to the creator. I just wanted to add that.

Other than that I want to thank y'all for all the support. It means a lot. Depending on whether or not this first couple of chapters do well I might continue this series. Am sure that you will enjoy the upcoming Arc. But just a update the following chapters will have a reduced word count just to create a bit of suspense.

....

I believe that's all. Please let me know whether you enjoyed the first 15 chapters or not I'll try to release more frequently.

Anyways it's been me the greatest and smartest author.
