Chapter 31 Unfamiliar Alicia (1)
The grape cut through the water at a steady pace. As it bobbed up and down with the assaulting waves, the two passengers stood upright, their gaze cast on the remarkably large city.
Alden a tall and slender man, with silver hair that seemed to be dulled out, and messy, stood at the front of the grape. He wore a thick, round, golden glasses that covered his eyes entirely. He was clothed in a simple military uniform, and on his extremely pale face, a small but wistful smile could be seen. He was holding the throttle of the grape gradually increasing it speed.
Besides him a young and scrawny kid was staring with glee filled eyes at the not so distant city. He had dirty black hair, that flowed down to his shoulders, he didn't wear a shirt and his already damaged pants were on the brink of total destruction. He was covered in soothe, blood and grime. However there wasn't a single scratch or bruise on his similarly pale skin. He gave of a soul numbing stench and many of his bones could be seen under his thin layer of skin. He resembled a corpse more than a living human.
His ghastly sight would without a doubt cause anyone who saw him to back away involuntarily, however despite this the silver haired man didn't seem to be affected by his appearance.
As Kreed, who's deep black eyes, scanned across the land ahead of them, he saw nature in it's fullest.
After spending ten long and dreary years on apostle island, Kreed was overwhelmed by the sudden release from those restraints.
In the matter of a couple weeks he had experienced more things than he had in all his life. Firstly he had met the Father of all, traveled to the gigantic tree which nearly made him cry in disbelief.
He had finally accomplished his dream of seeing the sun, he had received a influx of relics leading him to believe that his luck had completely turned around. He had built the grape, successful escaping the island. He met with the very first human being after escaping the mist, and learned that he had a place to stay.
He witnessed a battle of horrifying scale, completely changing his view of the world and the concept of power. He was extremely close to accomplish one of his previous goals, however in the end his will to live outweighed everything. Or should I say the unbearable hatred in his heart wouldn't allow him to die.
And now he was witnessing a beauty beyond measure, something that he never thought he needed to see, or would ever witness.
As his eyes became moist with tears, Kreeds heart stirred.
Beyond them in the front of the grape, was a long and beautiful shoreline. The golden sand glistened in the suns radiance, exuding a calming and relaxing feeling. There was many tropical plants littered across the beaches front. As Kreeds eyes scanned, he saw many small figures, either swimming in the mildly rough waters or resting on the sand. And although Kreed was to far away to make out their figures or faces, he felt the joy and bliss that emanated from them.
If you spot this story on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
He and Alden stared in silence, taking in the beauty that surrounded them, soon a simple one lane dock came into view. The dock extended out from a side of the dome like city covering of Alicia.
From Kreeds angle he spotted a few large vessels as well as many simple ships and boats docked.
He stared at the covering of Alicia with deep interest. The thick grey stone dome didn't give of any feeling of danger or malice but Kreed still felt somewhat apprehensive.
For some reason or another he could help but think that maybe Alden didn't build the dome to protect the city but instead to keep the city trapped. Essentially like a prison.
Well that wouldn't be to surprising, knowing that Alden possessed a profound rank relic that could probably kill anyone who looked at it without any concealment method, it was only reasonable that Alden would build a city that could keep it in check.
As his eyes Wondered across the surface of the dome he finally saw it's entrance. There was a massive tunnel that lead to the inside of the dome, from his distance he could spot slight figures of soliders or guards keeping the entrance under strict surveillance.
The dock that was several kilometers long ended on the shore and a long stone pathway, protected by metal rails and balusters lead into the tunnel. On the stone dome there was many viewing platforms, with surveillance offices constantly looking out. There was many turrets and missile launchers plastered across the many ridges in the dome. From what Kreed was able to spot the was a flurry of reflective material on the domes surface, he didn't know what they were but he guessed they were either some magical item or some form of deterrents for Arial attacks.
Soon the grape was drawing near to the port. For some unspeakable reason Kreed suddenly had an awkward feeling, he was half naked, or pretty much naked, and covered in grime and blood. Would he be let into Alicia like this? For some reason he didn't think he would. Well Alden didn't seem to mind how he looked so maybe there wasn't much of a problem.
Unfortunately Kreeds hopes were completely shattered. As they pulled into the dock, Kreed felt the gazes of many individuals sweep across him, there scrutiny and judgement very evident.
As they climbed into the dock without a word, Kreed suddenly saw a group of four individuals approaching them.
Alden finally turned to him and said, I can assure you Kreed that the next couple of hours won't be so fun for you, but please don't worry it'll be over before u know it. Oh and don't reveal anything to problematic just yet, like I said I may not be envious of your relics but I can't say the same thing for the others. Especially the person your about to meet. With an Shakey smile appearing on his face Alden asked, are you good at enduring provocation? Cause you'll have to end--
Alden!! You thick skulled ape, where have you been?
As a new and unfamiliar voice resounded, Alden was cut of.
Kreed watched with peak interest as the smile on his face became even more Shakey.
Alden who shivered a little, turned around with slow movements.
Oh Tista... isn't it nice to see u too. He said with lingering fear.
Kreed who was in the back of him moved to his left finally getting a good look at the approaching figures, suddenly he felt that this decision was a bad one, all their eyes locked onto him scanning him with deep scrutiny and disgust. Kreed tried desperately to refrain from looking at himself, but In the end he succumbed to the urge and glaced down. Seeing his ribs and pelvis, protruding unhealthy, he couldn't help but sneer inwardly. He was drenched in the blood of some unholy creature and the build up of grime on him was evident.
Removing his eyes from himself he looked back at the four individuals. Seeing that their eyes were still filled with contempt, Kreed slightly shivered. Suddenly he saw one of the persons, one dressed in a similar uniform to Alden, toss him a simple brown robe before instructing him to put it on. His voice sounded raspy and deep, from Kreeds first impressions, he could tell that he was someone with many years of experience, in commanding. The man had a slightly orange tinted beared with obvious sign of age on his face, from what Kreed could tell he was around the age of fifty seven or more. However there wasn't any hint of weakness. He had dull grey eyes that seemed to hold a vast wealth of knowledge. His nose bridge was high and prominent, making him look like a noble, and powerful man. He wore a simple cap that seemed to be paired with his uniform, covering his similarly dull orange hair.
After taking in his image Kreed followed his instructions and covered himself. Before moving
to memorize the image of the other persons.
