The day everything changed started like any other day for me. I woke at 6 and rise from my bed at 6:20. I proceeded to take a short shower for 20 minutes and got dressed. After that I heated up a hot pocket and toasted some bread. After eating them I made sure I had everything I needed. I put my headphones and walked out the door. I started to descend the stairs.
Seconds later a ringing sound played in my ear. A sense of weightlessness overcame me. I was confused as I saw my body heading towards the ground. Before I could think about what was going on something hit my head and everything went black.

" Agh, my head. "
I hold my head with one of my arms and push myself up with the other. My thoughts were distorted. A ringing resounded in my ears.
" What happened? Where am I? "
Thoughts flew through my head as my blurry vision slowly cleared. What I saw made many emotions run through me.
People were running seemingly screaming. Down the road to my right a crash had happened and a car caught of fire. It could explode at any minute.
That wasn't what hit me the hardest. It was the small green creatures chasing and stabbing people with rusted knives. I was too confused and disoriented to think properly. The ringing slowly went away.
I stood there confused wondering what to do.
' Should I run? '
Pain shot through my back and spread throughout every fiber of my being.

" Ah! "
I instinctively reach behind me and turn to see what caused the pain. In front of me stood a short green man with sinister yellow eyes and horizontal pupils. Pointed ears along with no clothes except a rag covering its privates.
In it's hand was a bloodied knife. My hand touched my back and I felt a warm liquid. I looked at my hand only to see it covered in a red, I knew was my blood.
It wasted no time and charged at me. I instinctively reach into my pocket and pull out a pocket knife. The thing slashed at me and I quickly used my knife to block it.
It was strong, far stronger than what was expected from something it's size. It pulled it's knife back and dug it's long nails into my thigh. I slashed at it in retaliation. It stepped back while letting my thigh go. I took a step back.
It dash at me again and I prepared myself. It threw it's knife at my eyes. I moved my head and closed my eyes instinctively predicting it to aim for my face. I felt a sting on my cheek as I opened my eyes once more. The goblin was right in front of me and it's hand reached for my throat.
I grabbed it's arm and stabbed it's stomach with my knife. It let out a yelp of pain. I didn't stop and instead kept stabbing it eventually aiming for it's throat and then it's eye. It soon died and my breathing was uneven and heavy.
I looked down at the body of the thing I killed. I looked around and saw more of the green things mere meters away. My legs felt like Jello but I quickly got a hold of myself and started running.
I didn't know where I was running, where I was going, or what I would do. All around me there were green things. No matter how much I ran there were always more of them. My steps slowed as my breathing was uneven and heavy.
My vision slightly blurry and my thoughts muddled. I turned as people ran by me some collapsing. I lowered my stance as I stared at the approaching things. They reminded me of the monsters from the books I used to read on the Internet. Goblins, monsters with a horrible reputation
As one neared it slash diagonally for my leg. I took a step back to avoid it. As it had just attacked with everything it had it was open.
Even I had saw the opportunity and stabbed forward at it's head. I hesitated as my blade neared it's head. It quickly moved it's head but the knife still hit it. The knife snuck into it's cheek slightly.
The goblin slash my shin as I nearly fell forward due to the pain. I used my other leg to maintain balance and the goblin backed up. The goblin charged at me and I slash out with my knife. It ducked and stabbed my stomach. I yelled in pain and quickly grabbed my knife with both hands and slammed it in the back of the goblin's head. With some reservation I kept doing it until it slumped down.
The next goblin was right in front of me.
