Zalroth briskly sprinted atop a small solid marble fence and carried a sweating Chronia as she panted heavily. Zalroth jumped off the wall, over a street and landed on the marble fence on the other side of the street. Zalroth sprinted off again, ducking and evading the small hanging branches from the deep green-leaved trees as he ran atop the fence.
"Huff... how can you run for so long without getting tired?" Chronia mumbled whilst resting her head on Zalroth's shoulder.
"But... you only ran for five minutes before you turned into a water fountain," Zalroth said as he slowed his pace.
"I'm a professional otaku; what would you expect?". Zalroth puzzledly raised an eyebrow and exhaled quietly.
"A... what?".
"People use the word for many things, but I define it as someone who indulges in media, like anime and manga for example, instead of the outside world," Chronia uttered, in a somewhat smug manner. Zalroth halted his sprinting and glanced back at Chronia with a face conveying a mix of confusion, disappointment, and pity.
"You know what those are right?" Chronia asked while she wiped the sweat off her forehead. Zalroth silently stared at Chronia, causing Chronia to look at Zalroth in utter shock.
"You don't!" Chronia blurted out loudly. Chronia rapidly shook her head dismissively whilst Zalroth itched the inside of his ears and quietly murmured about Chronia being too loud.
"This will not do! We're going to have an anime binge session after school," Chronia stated. Zalroth mentally groaned and rubbed his ears.
"Yippee...," Zalroth muttered unenthusiastically before he pulled his bottom lip down and let it slap his top lip upon letting it go.
Stolen story; please report.
"Anyway, we're here," Zalroth stated. Chronia looked upwards and noticed the two-storey large paint-splat-covered castle-themed kindergarten with other kindergarteners standing outside.
"Huh? But When?".
"Since I stopped running a minute ago," Zalroth said while placing a hand on his hip.
"Oh...," Chronia uttered meekly. Zalroth hopped off the wall and wrapped his tails around Chronia before he placed her on the ground with his tails. Zalroth swiftly transformed into his kitsune cub form and hopped onto Chronia's shoulder. Chronia brushed her hands over her uniform to straighten it out and skipped over to the kindergarten.
Later during school, Chronia sat at a large table with other kindergarteners with a paper full of easy math questions (1+1=? 2+1=? 3+3=? 7-1=? etc). Chronia slowly filled in her answers whilst having a puzzled look on her face. Zalroth stood on his hind legs and placed his front paws on the table as he watched Chronia work. Zalroth noticed the time between each of Chronia's answers was increasing.
"Are you actually having trouble?" Zalroth said telepathically to Chronia, causing Chronia to glance at Zalroth. Chronia shook her head before she grabbed her notepad and jotted something down.
"No. I'm stalling since Mrs Kaythilne gives kids who answer too quickly more math questions," Chronia wrote. Zalroth nodded as he read Chronia's note and dropped down to the ground.
"That's... smart, I suppose, lazy but smart," Zalroth uttered telepathically. Chronia bent down to Zalroth and lightly tugged on his ear.
"Keep your snarky comments to yourself," Chronia whispered to Zalroth.
"Nai, please sit in your seat properly, please," Mrs Kaythiline (a young woman wearing an apron) requested. Chronia grumbled and slowly sat up in her seat. Zalroth popped his head over the side of the table and glanced up at Chronia.
"So, is your name Chronia or Nai?" Zalroth asked telepathically, causing Chronia to mentally groan before placing her head, face first, on the table.
"Are you having trouble, Nai? If so, I'd graciously give you some pointers," the boy with a squeaky voice said (he has fair skin, pure white hair with a reflective metalic ahoge, white left eye and a reflective silver right eye, and three metalic silver axolotl gills on each side of his head).
"No... thanks, Max," Chronia mumbled while having her face pressed against the table.
"Ok," Max said happily and, with an upbeat tone before he resumed answering his math questions.
