Chapter 1: The Intervention of Existence

A faint symphony of crickets chirping and owls hooting into the night as the full moon hung high in the starry sky over a large manor estate. On a large balcony of the manor, a child Chronia, in a simple white nightgown with dinosaurs illustrations and an eye patch over her right eye, rested her arms on the balcony's railing and gazed up at the moon with her left eye as its ten-pointed-star-shaped pupil sparkled like the very stars in the sky. Her long, spikey pale lime and dark teal hair blew in the wind as she noticed the multiple faint flashing red and green lights in the distance.

"sweetie, try not to stay up too late star gazing, alright?" a posh-sounding adult woman asked from within the house.

"Okay, Mama," Chronia said with a sweet voice. Chronia looked back at the sky and watched the squadron of CH-53E Super Stallions (helicopter [similar to the vehicle mod of Blackout from the live-action Transformers 1 movie]) fly overhead without a sound.

"Aren't helicoopter meant to make noises?". Chronia tilted her head and squinted her eyes at the helicopter squadron.

Meanwhile, violent tremors stampeded through the rapidly crumbling halls of the debris/rubble-covered laboratory. A blisteringly blinding flash of purple light exploded through a door and wall, blasting a plume of purple dust into the hallway as a short figure marched out from the hole in the wall. The figure crossed their arms before slashing the dust cloud away to reveal it was Z-2.

Z-2 clenched his eyes and staggered forwards as the grey horns on his head grew and curved slightly into the shape of ram horns. Z-2 crashed to his knees, sweating buckets and breathing heavily as his hair's glow died down and the purple aura coating his body faded away. Z-2 dropped his hands to the ground and looked at his skull-shaped pupils in the reflection on the floor.

"You hanging in there, Edgelord?" a child Zalroth asked. He jumped through the hole in the wall, carrying multiple children on his six tails: a human-looking boy with spiky red hair and goat horns, a pale-skinned vampire girl with spiky purple hair and goat horns, a young-goblin girl with black hair, and a human-looking girl with bright pink curly hair and a large pale cyan shark tail. Z-2 groaned and rose to his feet.

"And here I thought being called Z-2 was bad.". Z-2 clicked his neck and turned to face Zalroth.

"It's Zulios, got it Zalroth, not Z-2, not Edgelord, and definitely not Murderizor, got it?". Zalroth smugly smirked, and Zulios rolled his eyes.

"Forget it; let's just find your brother or whatever you said he was.". Zalroth nodded in agreement before running off on all fours, with Zulios following behind him.

The duo (Zalroth now carrying more children on his tails) eventually arrived at the foot of a metal door, which was significantly more robust and fortified compared to the other containment cell doors. Zulios scoffed and punched the door, sending a wave of purple energy through the door and reducing it to purple ash.

"Getting more comfortable with you're destructive instincts are you, Zuli?" the voice of a young Zalkutaro asked, from within the containment cell. Zulios groaned before he and Zalroth peeked into the room to see a blindfolded and tied-up Zalkutaro (with six tails) inside a see-through spherical sensory deprivation tank.

"The nicknames just keep getting worse...". Zulios raised a hand to the sensory deprivation tank and slammed his hand on the largest button on the control panel next to him. A loud siren blared throughout the room, as it was filled with a crimson red glow. The liquids in the sensory deprivation bubbled up and transformed into foam before the tank opened and the foam spilled out of it onto the floor. Zalkutaro rolled on top of the foam before he whistled and his restraints instantly popped off his body. Zalkutaro jumped into the air and transformed into his cub kitsune form, as he landed on Zulio's head.

"Onwards my good fellows," Zalkutaro said, placing a paw on Zulios' forehead while pointing at the wall on the opposite side of the room.

"I suggest going back the way you came and then bust down the seventh door on the right, and my counterweight try not to go overboard," Zalkutaro stated calmly. Zulios rolled his eyes before he and Zalroth rushed out of the room, and hurried back the way they came from.

Outside of the laboratory, the squadron of helicopters circled above the three-story laboratory situated in the middle of the brightly lit cityscape.

"Alright, Moxi-1 to 3 secure the perimeter, Moxi-4 to 5 relay the recon drones' feed to the support unit, and Striker squads prepare to breach the compound," the marshal (donning heavily armoured armour) said as he straightened out his black-ops-looking mask.

"Marshal Noir Taurenis, it appears the visual of the scientists keep disappearing.". Taurenis peered over at the monitor (of the black-op soldier who talked) and watched multiple yellow spots on the screen disappear.

"Strikers move out!". Taurenis picked up a large rifle and jumped out of his helicopter in unison with other black-op soldiers. Taurenis plummeted towards the building below, before smashing through the roof and multiple floors until he and the other black-op soldiers reached the lower levels of the laboratory's underground levels. Taurenis gestured for the others to follow his lead before leading them through the halls of the laboratory.

Taurenis sprinted ahead of the group and twitched his head as a loud bang emanated ahead of the group. Taurenis dropped to his knees and knee slid, sparks spitting out from between his knees and the floor, in front of a door, right as it was bursted open and a large azure-coloured-crystal-covered canine leapt through it.

Taurenis slammed his foot into the ground, and Roundhouse kicked the canine's head into the floor. He raised his foot from the canine's crushed head.

"So, it's here too," Taurenis stated as he pulled one of the crystals out of the canine's body and visually inspected the crystal.

Elsewhere in the laboratory, a silver blur rocketed around a hallway, bouncing off its surfaces, before Zalroth sucker punched an azure-coloured crystal-covered bipedal crocodile monster in the face and sent it flying down the hallway. The monster slammed into the wall, and as it staggered forwards a glowing golden mark formed on its face before it rapidly spread all over its body. The monster widened its eyes and flailed in distress as the magic mark rapidly transformed its body into glitter. The monster's roar and flailing seized before falling forwards, and the second it hit the floor the monster bursted into a pile of glitter.

"Worthless scum! How dare you face me with such vile filth on your body!" Zalroth screamed as he stared daggers at the glitter pile which used to be the crocodile monster; Zulios rolled his eyes at Zalroth's words while Zalkutaro sighed sombrely. The kids on Zalroth's tails nervously hid themselves behind a makeshift wall made from Zalroth's tail fur, as they stared at the heavily breathing Zalroth.

A stampede of azure-crystal-infected monsters/animals rushed out from around the T-shaped end of the hallway and made a B-line for Zalroth. Zalroth balled up his fist and coated his fists in flames as a spirally dark ayton green mist seeped out from his mouth and eyes.

"No- I can't...," Zalroth uttered, trying to force himself to his feet only for his knees to buckle and he fell back onto his tails.

"Zalroth!" Zulios shouted. Zulios attempted to rush for Zalroth, but an adult hand black-gloved covered hand grabbed his shoulder. Zulios looked to his side and saw Taurenis was the one who had put a hand on his shoulder.

"Don't worry.". Taurenis raised a hand and surrounded it with a yellow glow. Zalroth aimed his fire mana-covered hand at the stampede of monsters and condensed the flames into a ball as his body was covered by the same yellow glow as Taurenis' hand. Zalroth and, by extension, the other kids were levitated into the air before Zalroth fired a concentrated fire beam which launched him backwards as it pierced through some of the monsters. Zalroth soared over Zulios, Zalkutaro, and Taurenis before one of the black-ops soldiers caught Zalroth mid-air. The remaining black-ops soldiers rushed to Taurenis' side before they gunned down the azure-crystal-infected monsters with lightning-mana-coated dawnite bullets.
