Chapter 10: The Last Home Visit

Zalroth soared under the starry night sky while carrying Chronia in his arms. Chronia used her arms to shield her eyes from the surging gales blasting past her and making her wedding dress wildly flap around. Chronia let out a meek cough, causing Zalroth to slow down his flight to a degree where the gales became a light breeze. Chronia lowered her hands to her chest and lightly interlocked her fingers together as she put on an annoyed expression and puffed up her cheeks.

"I can't believe you," Chronia uttered angrily as she struggled to keep herself from smirking.

"Is now really the time to be acting like a tsundere or whatever dere it is?" Zalroth asked as he choked on every other word. Chronia playfully rolled her eyes while dropping her angry facade. Chronia grabbed Zalroth's mask and took it off so she could look Zalroth in the face.

"Can't a girl pretend to be mad you crashed her wedding, even if she didn't want it?" Chronia asked rhetorically as she put Zalroth's mask on before it bursted apart into small particles. Zalroth raised an ear to Chronia's remark as Chronia struggled to spit up the black particles she inhaled from the mask.

"But wasn't me crashing the wedding and kidnapping you your idea?".

"Heh?" Chronia murmured as she raised an eyebrow puzzledly and lostly gazed at Zalroth. Zalroth blankly stared back at Chronia before he shook his head dismissively. One of Zalroth's black magic mark tails curved back towards Zalroth's head before going into his hair and pulling out the manga with the obnoxiously long title Chronia previously gave him.

Chronia's expression took a deprecate turn, and she covered her face when her cheeks turned bright pink. Chronia meekly groaned and rubbed her cheeks while she mumbled to herself as Zalroth flew over Chronia's parents' mansion. Zalroth dispeared his black magic crest wings into particles and dropped down onto the balcony of Chronia's bedroom.

"I can't believe I got bailed out from a wedding because of a misunderstanding...," Chronia whined as Zalroth placed her on the balcony.

"Would you prefer I didn't?".

"Absolutely not," Chronia replied instantaneously and with no hint of hesitation. Chronia glanced down at her wedding dress but shook her head before she raised the lower part of the dress from the floor and hurried into her bedroom.

Zalroth placed a hand on his forehead and sighed as the black magic crest all over his body and its constructs crumbled into particles; his hair reverted to its normal silver with cyan tips form before he raised his head at hearing the balcony door creek. A Chronia in her kitsune-themed frilly cyan underwear poked her head around the side of the glass-paned door.

"What are you standing around for? Get in here and get a change of clothes... well, more like change into clothes," Chronia remarked as she registered Zalroth was only wearing shorts while she snuck a peek at Zalroth's lean muscles.

"You know that door isn't doing you any favours," Zalroth remarked as he looked slightly above Chronia's head. Chronia made a bruh face at Zalroth for adverting his gaze.

"Don't act like you haven't seen me in my underwear before," Chronia said nonchalantly as she reached a hand out to Zalroth. Chronia grabbed the reluctant Zalroth by the wrist and hoisted him over her head as a few inches of pale lime and dark teal fur grew on her wrists. Chronia carried Zalroth into her bedroom and plopped him next to her bed before the fur on her wrists receded into her body. Chronia presented the myriad of clothing spread out on her bed and smugly crossed her arms.

"Behold the clothes I painstakingly made using only the finest of materials," Chronia said as she gleefully watched Zalroth pick up the fuzzy silver baggy break-dancing trousers; Zalroth stared at them as he brought out one of his kitsune tails. Zalroth squinted his eyes as he waved his vision between his tail and the trousers.

"So this is what happened to all my tail fur you took," Zalroth said as he placed the trousers back on the bed.

"Well, it would be a waste not to turn all that stray fur into clothing given how much we make when we brush our fur," Chronia remarked while putting her legs into her fuzzy black thigh-high socks. Zalroth rolled his eyes as he recalled the time when a child Chronia was brushing his tails in his kitsune cub form; followed by Zalroth sneezing, which caused his tails to grow to the size they are when he's in his humanoid form and completely burying the child Chronia in the process.

A few minutes later, Chronia finished attaching her suspenders to her fuzzy black teal onesie before she looked over at Zalroth to see he had also finished getting dressed aside from his silverwood getas, which he was blindly staring at. (Chronia's wearing a fuzzy dark teal onesie but without her arms through the sleeves while having the upper half of the onesie folded inside out and handing by her sides in the vague shape of a skirt, a skin-tight white shirt which also covers her arms and hands, dark teal suspenders connected to her onesie, and fuzzy black thigh socks)(Zalroth's wearing a black skin tight sleeveless shirt, fuzzy silver baggy break dancing trousers, black socks, and silverwood[silver coloured wood] getas)

"Pretty authentic... right?" Chronia asked with a trace of unease in her voice. Zalroth silently nodded in response before sitting on Chronia's bed and placing the getas on his feet. Chronia breathed a sigh of relief at getting Zalroth's silent approval for the authenticity of the getas she made. Chronia opened her eyes and locked her sights on the large prevalent scar all over Zalroth's left arm. Chronia darted her head around her bed and groaned as she crouched down before stretching her arm under her bed.

"How'd I manage to forget something?" Chronia murmured as she stuck half her body underneath her bed and rummaged around for something.

"Ah-ha! Found it- OW!" Chronia announced but hit her head against the bottom of the bed as she mindlessly tried to stand up. Chronia rubbed the back of her head as she pulled a metalic object out from under her bed. Chronia picked up the metallic object. However, when she looked at Zalroth a frown grew on her face as she saw Zalroth with his hand over his mouth.

"Something funny?". Chronia waited for Zalroth to respond, but a sweat drop formed on her head as she stared at Zalroth and saw he was motionless.

"You... good?". Chronia raised a hand to Zalroth's face and poked his cheek, which elicited zero response from Zalroth. Chronia sighed to herself followed by climbing onto her bed and marching to the head of the bed. Chronia readied her legs before sprinting as fast as she could at Zalroth and jumped head first at Zalroth.

Chronia slammed her head into Zalroth's back, knocking Zalroth both out of his rigid state and off the bed as Chronia fell down with him. Zalroth fell face-first onto the floor with a loud thud while Chronia somersaulted and landed on top of Zalroth on her back.

"Thanks for that," Zalroth uttered muffledly before turning his head away from the ground.

"Don't mention it," Chronia murmured as she rolled off Zalroth. The pair sat up on the floor, and both groaned in pain.

"You really need to get a better handle on your keither, Zalroth," Chronia remarked exhaustedly. Zalroth placed his hand on his neck and pushed it until it made an odd clicking noise.

"Yeah-yeah, I hear you, but at least I made it back before my body locked up," Zalroth retorted as Chronia shoved the metalic piece of clothing in his face. Zalroth took the piece of clothing from Chronia. Zalroth looked at the piece of clothing Chronia gave her and saw it was a metallic-thread silver hip-low cape with a wrist-long left sleeve and black fur on the cuff and end of the cape.

"It certainly something," Zalroth remarked as he slid his left arm into the sleeve and put the cape on.

"Something pretty cool, right?".

"I suppose you could say that.". Zalroth hopped to his feet, which made Chronia jump a little at the abruptness of Zalroth's movement.

"Alright, grab everything you think you'll need," Zalroth said as he unretracted all six of his kitsune tails. Chronia pressed her hand on her chin and hummed as she mused over something.

"Everything?".

"Everything reasonable.".

"Got it," Chronia uttered as she scratched her eye patch, followed by her body being covered in lime and teal qi. Chronia zipped around her room like a blur, rapidly picking up various of her belongings and placing said belongings into Zalroth's kitsune tails.

After only a few minutes, Chronia's bedroom looked like an almost barren and abandoned room with only a few pieces of furniture, like her bed and bookshelves remaining. Chronia dispelled the qi around her body, and Zalroth retracted his kitsune tails and kitsune ears into his body.

"Was the TV and MD reader necessary?" Zalroth asked as Chronia gave a confident nod.

"Duh, I won't be able to watch my animes without them otherwise," Chronia stated matter-of-factly. Zalroth rolled his eyes at Chronia's statement.

"Whatever, just don't forget your....".

"Purse?".

"Yeah, that," Zalroth stated. Chronia reached into her onesie and pulled out a cyan chibi-kitsune-head-themed purse. Chronia boastfully and proudly waved the purse at Zalroth before she pulled the front of the onesie out a bit and dropped her purse back into her onesie.

"At least you have it for a change, but Is that even practical?" Zalroth asked.

"Of course it is.".

"How?".

"There's a kangaroo pouch-like pocket on the inside, duh," Chronia stated cheekily as her cheeks turned a little pink when a thought entered her mind. Zalroth sighed and strolled towards the balcony while Chronia covered her red face. Chronia wondered why she thought of saying something so embarrassing to Zalroth as she took off from the ground and floated after Zalroth.
