"Bring them tomorrow."
After Jack whispered in the ear of the older student, he turned, looking for anyone nearby. His eyes fell on that girl from his class and he signaled for her to approach. Upon seeing him gesture towards her, the girl became flustered before complying. He told her to take this failure to the school clinic and then he departed from that area, leaving the girl confused. Tomorrow, I will obtain a great prize, so I must think about what I will do afterward. Jack went to sit in his classroom, awaiting the ringing of the class bell as a signal for the start of lessons. Perhaps there would be some benefit from these lessons. Unfortunately, all he found were subjects like sports, language, and even history, which turned out to be a dull class discussing how people lived in the past, technological advancements, and wars that occurred. It was a waste of time. The most peculiar subject he noticed was the subject of myths and legends, where they talked about the origin of creation and a hidden world within the Earth. Attending class today confirmed that he wouldn't waste his time in the future on this absurdity.
On the way back home, Jack passed by the neighborhood where he had killed that old lady, only to find her house surrounded by police cars. So, they discovered the body early... They worked quickly. I must be cautious not to arouse any suspicions. Of course, if I feel they are getting close to me, I'll throw this corpse's family in front of their faces.
Upon returning home, Jack found his father coming out of his small office. He noticed Jack and smiled at him. "So, how is studying going? Have you caught up on what you missed?" Jack smiled back, "Not yet, but I promise I will." "I see. I'll try to find a tutor who can help you catch up on those lessons," his father said while adjusting his red necktie. Asher was getting ready to go to work, dressed in a black suit and black pants. It was his only suit, so he always took care of it. "Yes, thank you," Jack hurriedly replied as he went up to his room. He had to choose the type of information he would gather. Jack found some information about the country he lived in and the other six countries. He realized that infiltrating any of them would be very difficult, even for him. However, traveling was possible, so that's what he would attempt to do. Currently, he hadn't finished researching within this country, but when he did, he would have to travel to explore the rest of the world.
After confirming his plans and research path, Jack rested his eyes for a moment before contemplating the system above his head and the tattoo on his hand, but he didn't notice anything new. He sighed and went to sleep.
A dark and desolate space surrounded him, the chilling cold penetrating his body, absolute solitude and a sense of loss. Those were Jack's dreams every day, every life in every world. After waking up from his gloomy dream, he noticed something that made him frown slightly—the system screen that had appeared above his head in the past two days had disappeared? Jack quickly got up and looked more closely in the air around him but couldn't find the system. He redirected his gaze to the tattoo on his arm, which had changed once again!
The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation.
It had grown larger and longer, almost covering his entire right arm. It transformed from the shape of a broken sword into three connected forms.
The first shape resembled symbols in a language Jack had never seen before.
The second shape was a black mist.
The third shape was his own face... the face of this body called Jack.
Jack frowned deeply this time; it was clear he didn't understand the meaning of those shapes and why his face was among them. Thoughts raced through Jack's mind as he stared intently at the tattoo on his right arm before being interrupted by a bright light in front of him. Jack briefly closed his eyes before opening them again to find what he thought had disappeared.
The system window was emitting a bright light before gradually diminishing in intensity until the engraved words on the window became clear.
"User's status and actions have been examined."
"The user has been confirmed to be close to the mist."
"A very close proximity between the user and the curse has been detected."
"Calculating the probability of growth... High."
"Preparing the welcome page..."
"Hello, user."
Upon seeing these consecutive phrases, Jack entered a state of distraction for a while. What was all this? He realized that every word spoken by the system was crucial, but there were two things that caught his attention even more—the mist and the curse. Did the system refer to the mist that formed in the tattoo? Most likely, he assumed. So, what about the curse? Did it mean this cycle of reincarnation? He used to call it a curse, but he wasn't sure if the system meant the reincarnation curse amidst his astonishment. Jack decided to try something.
He spoke to the system, asking, "Is communication possible between you and me?" "Yes," came the reply. "Then explain every word you said," he requested. "Not possible," the system responded. "Why not?" he inquired. "The user is too weak to handle this process."
Jack was surprised by this response. Weak? He was able to create miracles and cause disasters in many different worlds. He was confident that he possessed absolute power and expertise. He had been described in every way possible... hero, monster, god, demon, the strongest, the most dangerous, and more. But weak? This was something new! Jack continued with his questions.
"So, how do I become strong then?". "Complete the tasks," the system replied. "What tasks?" At that moment, his own personal status list appeared:
Name: ???
Curse Level: Observed
Skills: None
Main Task: Discover the truth of this world
Side Task: Retrieve memories
Reward Task: Subdue 20 individuals by force - (Obtain a random skill)
Seeing this window only increased the number of questions, but Jack knew that the essence of the matter was simple—just complete the tasks to become stronger, and then the system would answer his questions. Skills could be obtained from the tasks and would likely be unique to the user. However, the
form of the name and the request for the side task slightly annoyed Jack.
Well then, I have to perform some tasks to become stronger, and then you will answer my questions, right?" "Yes."
Jack looked once again at the tattoo on his arm. Although the inhabitants of this world couldn't see the tattoo from the beginning, this particular shape was bothering him for some reason. He closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and opened them again. Finally, I am moving forward.
