Monday

Emma was getting ready to go to school as usual. She woke up early in the morning before anyone else in the family to do some light morning exercises. Then, she went to take a shower before returning to her room to check her lessons for the day before getting dressed and leaving the house. As evident, she was committed to her daily routine and very disciplined. However, despite all the effort she put in, she always struggled to grasp the curriculum and lessons. Today was no different. Emma woke up early as usual, did some jumping and abdominal exercises, and pushed herself up, thinking,

"Today, I need to double my study time to prepare for the exams next week, and I also need to set a new routine for the summer vacation next month, and..."

Her thoughts kept swirling in her head until she collided with the closed bathroom door.

She winced in pain and rubbed her reddened forehead. Opening her eyes, she wondered who could wake up at such an early hour—perhaps her mother?

Emma waited patiently, but the person inside took their sweet time, which started to annoy her. She knocked on the door.

" hurry up, I need to..."

The door opened, and Jack emerged, a towel covering his lower body, and he used another towel to dry his head and hair. That second towel was actually Emma's.

"Hey, that's mine!"

without even looking at her, Jack gestured with his hands in a way she didn't understand. "It's ours now."

Then he tossed it in her direction, and Emma caught it, her blood boiling in her head. When she tried to hit Jack, all she hit was the air, as he quickly dodged her.

Emma looked at Jack with confusion and finally noticed something strange about him.

"Your leg? Did your leg really heal?"

"Yeah, the power of the subconscious mind is amazing, isn't it?" Jack replied without looking at her, and those words added more confusion to his sister.

The injury wasn't only in his leg but even in his head. This didn't explain how he could heal like this all of a sudden. Then, Emma remembered that she had never seen Jack at school. Could it be that he was absent because he found a way to heal his leg? Had her studious brother finally realized the importance of health and skipped school to treat his leg somehow? Emma noticed that Jack's clothes were sweaty.

Exercising? It seemed her brother was working out now. Emma placed her hand on her chin, thinking how her older brother Jack had finally decided to improve his lifestyle. She also remembered that their father had recently gotten a stable job.

"Hmm, it looks like everyone is making an effort to better themselves for the sake of the family," she smiled a little and continued, "Well then, I won't lose out either!"

Emma ignited with enthusiasm and decided to double her efforts in everything she planned to do.

...

"Ah, there's nothing better than taking a shower after pushing your body to its limits all night," Jack sighed blissfully, recalling yesterday's exercises.

1000 push-ups.

1000 squats.

1000 sit-ups.

That was just the beginning of the exercise routine he planned for this week. The best part was that his new healing body responded even better than he expected.

Anyone familiar with training knew that muscles grow stronger and bigger when they tear during exercise and recover afterward. The more damage inflicted, the longer the recovery process. Here, the advantage of his healing body came into play. No matter how much Jack destroyed his body, it would recover within moments, allowing him to inflict even more damage in an endless cycle of pain and suffering.

Of course, without pain, there would be no gain. Jack was naturally accustomed to experiments and trials from his previous lives, which made him almost crave some pain.

"Ah, if anyone saw me training, they might think I'm a masochist. Well, I am, but it's unacceptable when someone else says it."

Jack grumbled a bit about his condition before his eyes lit up, noticing the current state of his body—just one night, and some evident results were already showing in his muscles.

Very well, it seems that I have improved a bit thanks to human exercises, but if I want even better results, I'll need to perform some exercises from other species. Jack paused for a moment, reminiscing about the exercises of dwarves, orcs, half-dragons, and finally demons. A passionate smile appeared on his face.

"Even I haven't had the chance to train in all those styles, but now, with this great body, I'll twitch on the ground from excitement."

Jack paused for a moment, frowned after focusing on what he said. Perhaps he really needed some self-reflection.

................

"Um, Mr. Manager, is this true?"

"Yes, you're doing a good job, but you need to pay more attention to the quantity of materials you use. We want a balance between quantity, quality, and budget. So, don't forget what I told you, and you can record it and share it with your colleagues to avoid any mistakes."

"Yes, thank you for your serious work, Mr. Manager." The worker bowed and thanked his boss before leaving his office. Outside, he found some other anxious workers waiting for him. When they noticed him, they quickly approached and asked,

"So, are we in trouble? Are we going to get fired?"

"Oh no, I can't bear the idea. Who will hire me if I get kicked out from here?"

"Tell us, please, what did the manager say?"

The man looked at them and smiled before saying, "Don't worry, the manager said everything will be fine, and he gave us some advice on the right way to work. Look, everyone, pay attention."

The workers gathered together and seriously observed the instructions, memorizing them.

"S-so, is it really settled? We won't get scolded?" one of them asked.

"No," the worker replied.

"Oh my, the new manager is truly a great man; he treats us like actual humans."

"Yes, my friend. I can't remember the last time I saw my family from working too hard, but now, with the new system, we work in a more organized way and with less time!"

One of the older workers in the factory laughed, saying, "Haha, you youngsters, that's my dear friend Asher Wilson. If anyone among us here is talented like him, we could end world hunger."

"Huh? You're exaggerating, old man."

"Hmph, your opinion doesn't matter to me, you scamp."

"Alright, alright, let's get back to work. Remember your roles and work hard."

All the workers responded in harmony, "Yes!"

In the office, someone sat at their desk with an open computer screen, showing a current call with a blonde-haired woman.

"From the voices outside, I can deduce that they love you, Asher," the woman said.

"Oh, Helen, stop it, I already know that," Asher replied.

"Your humility is praiseworthy. Anyway, how did you manage it? The production is higher than usual, and the workers don't need to spend days at the factory to achieve this."

"Oh, that? It's not much, I just organize the workers' schedule to have most of them working while a few rest, and to compensate for the difference, I divide the production according to demand. It's quite simple once I contact the companies we're contracted with and arrange the timing for their products, so the workers can focus on one thing instead of being lost among many tasks."

"....So, you're saying you're the one thinking, and the workers just follow your plans?"

"Something like that."

"Wonderful, it seems you're adapting well to the situation." Helen paused for a moment and continued, "Anyway, I need to get back to my work. I'll be waiting for good news from you."

"Um, sure."

With that, the call was ended. Asher relaxed on his chair for a moment, closing his eyes for a few minutes before opening them again. The signs of fatigue were visible on his face, but he didn't want to slack off in fulfilling his responsibilities, so he straightened his posture on the chair, coughed a little, and smiled in the face of exhaustion.

"Bigger profits mean bigger responsibilities, huh?"
