Darcia's pov

My eyes couldn't move away from her. She is like this diamond you need to protect because it's very rare, expensive, and one of a kind. Two hours had passed; it was around ten o'clock when she finally woke up from her deep sleep.

"Hey there, did you sleep well?" I whispered into her ear, as I was right next to her. She slowly opened her eyes, and when she saw me, her eyes brightened. She didn't say anything; she just curled into my arms, holding me tight as usual.

Then I softly kissed the back of her neck as I lifted her chin. She giggled and pulled away. "W-What're doing?"

"What I want the most, sweetheart, and that is you," I replied, kissing her lips this time. Once my lips merged with hers, I couldn't pull away. I slipped my tongue inside her mouth, touching hers. If I could skin her with my tongue, I would. There wasn't a place I didn't want to touch.

She pressed on my arms with her hands and pulled away from me. "I-I need to shower." She stuttered and couldn't look into my eyes.

"Sure, do that," I said. She got off the bed, looking for a towel, and when she was close to the bathroom door, I teased, "I can help you with showering." She blushed it off and immediately went inside the bathroom. I chuckled at her reaction and waited until she was done.

A lot of things needed to be discussed. When she left the bathroom, I sat her down on the couch, and I sat right next to her. "There are a lot of things I need to talk about, Talia," I informed her, and she simply nodded.

To be truthful I don't even know how to open up to someone. I barely talked about this with Nicoli. To tell her the whole story of my past life it's not an easy thing to do.

I took a deep breath in and rested both of my hands on my knees. I gave her a second glance and when I saw how ready she was I started.

"I was sold off by my parents. They never cared about me that much. I was always quiet and shy, but once I learned they were going to marry me off, I became wild. The vampire is one of the most powerful, if not the most powerful. The night of our marriage, I escaped. I planned the escape for months." I stopped talking when Talia grabbed my hand. I briefly smiled, looking at the floor.

"Anyways, my room had a secret exit door. Since everyone was preoccupied with him, I had free passage. My mother was dying to see him and entirely forgot about my existence that night. Almost as if I wasn't the one marrying him but her. Her twisted desire blacked out her whole mind. She left me alone in my room, which she didn't usually do, and when everything looked clear, I escaped. Our castle has a lot of secret doors and ways to leave the castle. But my room had the best exit that only I knew about. I ran down the dark stairway, thinking no one would be waiting outside. I was wrong." I shut my eyes for a second, creasing my forehead at the vivid memory in my mind.

"They captured you?" Talia asked in the most saddest voice, widening her eyes.

"Almost, I was quite fast and strong. I think it was the adrenalin that helped me leave. There was only one guard outside, so it was not that difficult. I'm pure blood; that's why I'm faster and stronger." I explained.

"Pure blood? What does it mean?" She lifted an eyebrow.

"It means that both of my parents are vampires and our ancestors also. You can be with a human under the condition that you will later turn them. So, there are lots of non-pure vampires." I declared. Her thinking face looked so adorable. She was so confused but was trying to understand my words.

"I'm sure Nicoli already told you his story. His parents didn't want a pure blood vampire. They wanted a human for him. And why? Because they wanted him to feed on her for as long as he could and then turn her. He, of course, didn't want that. He loved her too much to feed on her. So they killed her in the most crucial way, and he was present as a punishment for refusing to accept it."

Talia stayed quiet and didn't say a word. She looked hurt. As if she could feel his pain. I couldn't imagine if that was us in their place. Seeing someone you cannot live without being killed right in front of your eyes.

"Why are you telling me all this now?" Talia suddenly asked.

I got up from the couch and faced away from her. "They found me, Talia. My family." I announced with a lower voice. "I don't know which member, but I'm very sure it's them." Talia's hands embraced me from behind, holding me tight. I felt her head resting on my back. I touched her hands that were around my stomach and squeezed them.

"I will keep you protected, sweetheart. No one will hurt you." I clarified. I turned to her and grabbed her face in my hands. I kept looking into her beautiful hazel eyes. I couldn't get enough of them. Enough of her.

A soft, but passionate kiss landed on her lips.

Talia's pov

Her short kiss felt painful. She was afraid but didn't want to admit it. I could see in her eyes how afraid she was of her family. It was torture to see her in this condition. Darcia always looks strong and unafraid, but deep down, she's still this young girl who was about to be married. Only a brief mention of her family makes her unfocused.

Why would a mother abuse her own child? To marry her off to someone so dangerous? Vampires are definitely twisted minded beings.

Before she let go of my face, I grabbed her wrist. "Do you want to do something fun with me?" I asked her in a curious voice.

She smirked at me and looked at my lips again. "Something fun, yeah?" Her eyes turning crimson-red in a second.

I rolled my eyes and said, "Not what you have in mind right now." And giggled. She sighed and pulled me closer to her. Our noses touching.

"So, Miss, what do you have in mind?" Darcia grinned. I pulled her away and said, "Come."

I told Nicoli a long time ago to buy me some flower seeds. The garden still looks dreadful, even though it's almost spring. Something needs to be done to make this place look more alive.

"Talia? What are we doing outside?" Darcia asked as soon as we stepped outside. I shook my head and took the flower seeds from the window sill where Nicoli had put them earlier today. I looked through them and couldn't decide which one to plant.

"Come here and pick one," I yelled at Darcia. She just stood there with her arms crossed, looking uninterested. After I gave her a deep stare, she sighed and came up to me in super speed. She scanned with her eyes what I had in my hands and bent down as I sat on the ground.

"W-What is that?" She wondered, studying the little packs. I burst out laughing, I couldn't help myself.

"Don't laugh at me, sweetheart, or you will see the consequences." Darcia threatened. As she touched my hair, she ran her fingers through it. Chills ran down my spine.

I blinked repeatedly and looked back at the seeds. "They are, uhm, flower seeds. Pick the one you like the most." I demanded with furrowed eyebrows.

Darcia stared at the flower seeds and, after a few seconds, grabbed the last pack I was holding. "I like this one." She turned it to me. It was the red rose seeds. I smiled at her and took it from her hand.

"Let's get into it!" There was all the equipment for planting in the garage. So, I quickly ran for it and came back with a shovel. It's honestly all you need for planting flowers. I had the honor to plant daisies in the Orphanage garden. We had so much fun with Stacey that day.

I miss her.

Right outside the window, I saw a pretty good place to make a hole. I stabbed the shovel into the dead grass, putting all my weight into the iron part with my feet, making a medium hole in the ground.

"Open the seeds and put them here." I pointed at the hole. She opened the bag and rattled off the seeds there. With my hands, I covered the seeds with clay.

"Could you go for some water?" I asked her. She sighed and came back in five seconds with a jar of water. "Why are we doing this? I mean, I'm not against planting flowers, but is it necessary?" She wondered, giving me the jar.

"I think your garden doesn't look like a garden. I'm sorry, but everything looks - dead." I asserted, and Darcia chuckled at my answer. "How could it not when I am not alive myself."

We stared at each other, not knowing what to say. The water that was left, she poured at me out of nowhere. "I will kill you!" I yelled and then jumped on her. She did not expect it for once and we ended up on the ground. As we were lying on the ground, she locked her hands around me.

I couldn't help myself, so I teased her with a peck on her cheek. She widens her eyes and kisses me back on my lips stronger.

Even though we have kissed so many times, it always feels like the first time. Her soft lips are making me feel butterflies in my stomach. I close my eyes and just enjoy the moment. Everything else fades away and it's just me and her at this moment. The feeling of love and happiness overwhelms me. We both open our eyes and smile. I wrap my arms around her and kiss her forehead, and she grabs my hand and squeezes it tightly.

As our lips were attached, I had a weird urge to look to the right. I looked around but no one was there. I shook off the feeling and continued kissing. I had a strong feeling someone was watching us. Nicoli is inside, doing something, so it was not him.

"What is it, love?" Darcia asked as she caught me studying the surroundings.

"Oh sorry! It's nothing." I replied immediately, but that feeling in my stomach just wouldn't leave me.
