Darcia's pov
After several days of secret visiting, I thought I should pay her visit again in a few days to give her a break. When that day came, I had the urge to seek more information about that place. About her. So I did.
I was standing outside the gate, thinking of my next move. I jumped over the gate, ready to move closer to the building, until I heard something. My mind was interrupted by the sound of opening doors. I looked around so I could hide when I suddenly saw a garden behind the building.
Large statue garden with so many trees and fountains. As I got closer, I found a giant and an old oak tree. I hid behind it and waited for what was going to happen next.
All of a sudden, I smelled a human walking inside the garden. I couldn't see them clearly because of the dense fog. They first wandered around the statues, observing them, and then they sat down on the bench. When they turned my way, I realized it was a girl. And it wasn't just any girl.
In confidence, I held my head high, came from behind the tree. She looked my way as I wandered towards her. The look on her face was priceless. Maybe it was fate after all.
The fear in her eyes was visible even from a distance. I'm sure she couldn't see my face. The fog was pretty heavy, and I was too far away from her. Her human eyes are nothing compares to mine. I heard how her breathing got faster, the same as her heartbeat. I stepped an inch forward, and she immediately got up from the bench and ran for her life inside. "As if she saw a demon," I said to myself. She looked back a few times to make sure I wasn't following her.
I never felt guilty about drinking human blood. That's who I am. Blood is the only recourse for my "dead" living. Of course, if I don't drink blood for a while, I get weak, but I will not die because I'm already dead. Immortality is a very beautiful thing. A lot of humans desire to be someone like me.
Immortal, pretty, and young for eternity.
But in reality, it's a curse, and there is no turning back from it. Are you willing to live forever and suck the blood out of innocent people? Even kill them if it's needed? Many newborn vampires regret turning, as well as the ones who didn't have the choice to decide. Even though I have no idea why someone would refuse to be a vampire.
Being a vampire is one of the best things that could have happened to me. With my powers, I can do anything I want. I'd rather be dead than live this miserable human life that she has.
After she got inside, I decided I should go back home. It won't be long before I return. Sometimes it's better not to reveal yourself completely to your food. It is the terror that makes the blood taste better. The adrenaline somehow makes it sweeter and warmer.
Ahh, when the prey is screaming from the pain, it gives me so much pleasure. If you don't terrify them a little bit, then what's the point?
"Oh my, from all the thinking about blood, I got more hungry," I announced as I was leaving the garden.
My house is located on a lonely street. Only I live there because others are afraid to be near me. I don't complain about it. I hate humans, their annoying voices, and their complaining. There's a rumor spreading around the town that I worship satan or do witchcraft. I honestly don't remember which one it was.
I wonder if it's because of my appearance or because I don't get out of my house in the daylight. But it's a disadvantage because I need to travel around the town to find food. I mostly feed at night, but not many people are outside at that time.
Feeding during daylight is dangerous for me. I don't want to be exposed, or worse, discovered by my family.
On my way home, I saw a lone guy on my street walking his dog. It's so unusual to see someone around here. I loudly pointed out, "What a funny coincidence." As I got closer to him, he turned around because my voice alarmed him.
"Good evening, sir, how's your night going?" I asked him in a seductive voice. It's one of the things I'm skilled at. Make men crazy for me.
"Hello there! What is a pretty lady like you doing out here? It's very dangerous for you to be in this kind of area alone," he declared while looking at my body up and down.

My mouth curved into a smile. Men are so easy to catch. One glance at my body, and he is wrapped around my finger. I laughed once and said, "I think you're mistaken, sir; you are in the wrong area." My eyes turned red, and his smile faded away so quickly.
Only a short second passed by, and my fangs were already deeply sunken in his neck. A quiet scream was all he could muster.
Talia's pov
I leaned my back on the door as soon as I closed them. I was breathing very heavily, and my heart couldn't stop racing. I thought it would tear apart if I didn't calm down.
I locked the door for more assurance, hoping that the stranger I saw in the garden would not follow me inside. I walked to the window, but I saw no one outside. I'm finally convinced that I'm not going insane and that someone is stalking me. I'm a non-conflicting person. I don't have any enemies, so who is that weird stranger that I saw? And why are they watching me?
I almost had a heart attack when I heard someone try to pull the door handle down. They attempted to open it multiple times. I was ready to scream for help when, all of a sudden, I heard a familiar voice calling my name.
"Tali, are you there? Why did you lock the door?" Stacey asked in a concerned voice, desperately trying to open the door.
"Oh gosh, it's just her." I ran to the door and unlocked it. I think it's time to tell Stacey what's going on. I can't keep this from her. She always figures out when there is something wrong with me.
"Are you crazy?! I thought something bad had happened to you! Why were you quiet?" Stacey shouted as she came inside. Her forehead creased as she peered at me in anger.
"I'm so sorry- I have an explanation for this," I uttered as I grabbed her hand and sat us down on the floor. "You better have!" Stacey said.
"I know this will sound insane, and you might think I lost my mind, but I can't keep this to myself." I looked Stacy deeply into her eyes, and then I continued speaking. "It happened a week ago. Do you remember that evening when we went to dinner and Sophia was staring at me?"
"I- think so?" She unsurely muttered, looking at me confused.
"Well, when we came back to our room, I thought I saw something jump out of our window. At first, I thought it was the curtains because we left the window open, but after that night, I felt like someone was watching me sleep." I stuttered, as I felt shivers run down my spine. The uncomfortable feeling I was having these past few days fixed deeply into my skin. I crossed my arms, trying to calm myself down.
"Are you trying to say you have a stalker? You don't even talk to other people from here," Stacey carefully pointed out, trying not to hurt my feelings. This should have hurt me, but it didn't. She was right; I don't have any other friends except her. No one would try to hurt me. At least, there's no one I'm aware of.
"Wait, I didn't finish. I thought the same thing, so I went for a walk in our garden today. I wanted to clear my head and think about it more, but-"
"But?!" Stacy stressed wide eyes, holding onto my arm. I carefully took her hand off my arm. "Oh god, let me finish. I saw in the distance, next to this big tree, a person looking my way." I paused, remembering how horrifying it felt.
"When they were looking at me, I felt the same way as these past few days," I explained while I was picking my nails. "They suddenly started to go towards me, so I ran inside because I got scared." Stacey looked at me in disbelief. I don't even try to refute this to her. What I said was bizarre.
"You don't believe me, don't you?" I asked. Stacey touched my hand, and gently squeezed it. "No, I do. You seemed a little weird and tired, so I thought you had those nightmares again. I didn't want to ask you about it. I know you hate it when I do..." Stacey looked down as she said it. I felt a bit guilty about it. I was sometimes too harsh on her because of it. But the truth is, I cannot talk about them, and I don't even want to.
"Thank you for believing me. It feels good now that you know about this too. I feel - less alone." I said with a smile on my face. She smiled back. "What are you going to do about this?" She wondered.
"I don't know. First, I need to see their face. I can't figure out whether it is a male or a female, and then I'll report them to the police," I replied. There's nothing I can do about it alone. It's better to leave it to the professionals.
"Don't worry, I'm on your side, and I always will be, no matter what!" Stacey announced as she hugged me very tightly.
She pulled away from our hug and said, "Do you think it could be Sophia? Perhaps it's a prank or something?" Her expression hardened just thinking about her. She cannot stand her, and neither do I.
"No, unfortunately, Sophia doesn't have black hair." I exhaled. It was the only thing I could recall about them. The long pitch-black hair.
"So, we know one thing for sure: That person has black hair and is not from here," Stacey added. The more I thought about it, the less it made sense. Why would a person who doesn't know me at all, stalk me?
"We should talk about this later; I'm kind of exhausted. Could you come to bed with me? I won't fall asleep alone," I asked Stacey. Even though I needed to figure this stalking thing out as soon as possible, my eyes were closing every second. I only slept for two or three hours.
"Of course, Tali." Stacey agreed.
