Shang’s eyes were filled with tears. He was holding Yue, and they were both covered in blood. Through his choked sobs, he was desperately looking around for somebody to cry to for help. But they were too far away from their sect.
“Yue! YUE! Everything’s going to be okay… Just… Just stay here, I’ll go get help!!”
Shang desperately began to stand, but his face suddenly felt Yue’s hand. Her skin was like Jade.
“No… Shang… Listen to me- Cough cough.”
“No Yue!!! You can’t die here! Not now… Not after everything…”
“Shang… You’ve truly grown so much Shang… You were so childish at heart when I met you, and I loved you all the more for it- Cough. But Shang… Oh Shang… what a man you’ve come to be... cough cough. The heavens have blessed me so, to have let me known your touch, and your love.”
After Yue spoke, she once again fell into a fit of bloody coughs. Her skin was like Jade.
“No… No Yue…”

Shang bit his lip, restraining himself from crying, but to no avail. His breaths shortened and he was now loudly sobbing. But Yue lovingly stroked his face. Her skin was like Jade.
“Shang… Take care of Qingyue’er. I know that you’re going to be such a wonderful father. You were such a wonderful man to be able to love- cough. How I wish I could stay and watch you two grow.”
Shang’s face contorted, and he now began crying unrestrained. As he cried, he began to stroke Yue’s hair. Her skin was like Jade.
“Yue… I’m sorry for everything I’ve done… I’ve been such a terrible partner so many times. I’ve lied… yelled... cheated... I don’t deserve to live on without you, Yue!”
Shang continued sobbing, and even Yue’s eyes began filling with tears. But she simply smiled. Her skin was like Jade.
“Shang… I told you that I’d always forgive you, didn’t I? Don’t you remember that, love? Cough. Oh Shang… There were times where I didn’t want to forgive you… Times where I thought about leaving… But Shang, what would life have been like without you? Cough I don’t want to know Shang… Because the only way that I could have ever lived was by your side… Cough And no matter how many more lives I live… I swear this life will be… The one I... regretted least… I love you… Shang…”
Yue’s hand trailed down Shang’s face and it fell to the ground… Her light had expired. As Shang remained there for many hours, crying and shouting, he held Yue tightly and rocked back and forth. After so long, he was able to think again. He slowly caressed her face a final time, and closed her eyelids. She peacefully lay in her final slumber. Her skin was like Jade.
