The zombie, a thin humanoid with gray skin that was missing in some areas like the face, had on a bulky metal armor. The armor had two cannons connected to it, one on each shoulder. It flew up into the sky with the apparent jet pack that was part of the armor. The demon was quick, flying all around us while shooting rockets from the cannons.
Kippie held Carbink as she dodged the rockets. I was so glad for the way Pokémon moves worked. As soon as a battle was deemed over or a new battle was abruptly starting, like now, moves like Trick Room could be canceled by the Pokémon who used it. Moves like Stealth Rock would also no longer affect the original opponent, as seen by the zombie hitting a rock mid-air.
I released Doublade, Nautilus, and Tetsu, while Olivia released a Dusk Form Lycanroc, Probopass, and Cradily. Another zombie came out, followed by a third. The constant barrage of rockets kept everyone on their toes for a minute. The Lycanroc and Cradily took on one of the zombies themselves while Olivia commanded over Probopass and Carbink to fight another.
The biggest problem at the moment was the surprising amount of agility and nimbleness these zombies were showing. They were easily able to dodge attacks and move out of range of the melee fighters. The rockets themselves weren't too much of a bother, though they did sting in a direct hit.
Cradily was bombarding its opponent with long-range moves while Lycanroc took care of the rockets and tried to get in a snake attack when possible. Olivia was using Carbink as a shield while it sent out the occasional Power Gem and Dazzling Gleam to their opponent. Probopass kept using some sort of magnetic field to disrupt the jetpack and zombies maneuverability.
Kippie and Tetsu naturally teamed up to take one, while Doublade and Nautilus formed an uncomfortable duo. Kippie and Tetsu played the same game as Carbink and Probopass, but Tetsu took care of the battlefield and used Gravity to bring the zombie close enough for Kippie to take care of it. It was more difficult than it seemed because the zombie would quickly recover.
Nautilus went in ferociously, matching the zombie in mobility and attack spamming ability. Doublade would fade in and out of sight, slashing at the zombie as often as possible without getting hit in return. I was between the four, watching and giving some commands here and there. Larvesta had come out of his Pokéball a few times, but I returned him quickly.
He was not ready for these battles, not yet. Just as we finished off the four zombies, another wave of five came out. This time, some of the local Pokémon that hadn't run off were starting to act aggressively. There was one in particular, a Golbat, that was closest to the portal and currently going berserk.
Olivia sent out her last Pokémon, an Armaldo, to deal with the Pokémon. The rest of us dealt with the zombies in the same duos as before, except I was fighting a zombie with Larvesta. He kept coming out of his damn ball, so instead of wasting time on returning him, I sat him on my shoulder and told him to hang on.
I rushed towards Tetsu and Kippie, who were fighting two of the flying fucks. While they were both distracted, I grabbed the legs of one of them and slammed it into the ground. I had Larvesta use String Shot to momentarily clog the rocket launchers while I punched in the jet part of the armor.
Now with a grounded zombie, I could put in some work. The zombie kept screeching and sending rockets my way as it tried to run away. I just zoomed after it, trying to break its launcher as quickly as I could. Larvesta was helping me by sending String Shots to entangle the fucker and Will-O-Wisp to do some chip damage. Every once in a while I was thankful for the Protects he would throw up for some last-minute defenses.
It turned out to be just like last time with the Beedrill. Except the wild Pokémon were attacking each other and we were fighting zombies. After fighting off at least 30 of them, we had a moment of reprieve. I could feel my phone buzzing non-stop, indicating someone was calling. I didn't answer though because a new monster came out of the portal.
This was a huge, hulking beast. On its head were beady yellow eyes widely spaced on its flat face and two large protruding horns. Its tan-colored skin looked like it had just gone through a blender. While most of its abdomen was open to show electrical wiring instead of intestines, the sight of the behemoth's skeleton made it more terrifying.
Both arms seemed to have some cybernetic enhancements. Most of its pelvis, its entire right leg and left arm, and the upper half of the left leg were completely robotic. The left arm had a cannon for an arm, while the right arm had something sticking out between the wrist and elbow. It bellowed out a guttural roar before charging at us.

It was slow, especially when it came to turning, but the power behind its attacks was devastating. Each hit from the right arm formed a small crater in the ground while the left arm sent a barrage of tiny missiles. Olivia's Pokémon had most of its attention, giving Nautilus, Doublade, and Kippie the ability to go in and slash what they could.
Tetsu was trying its best to slow down its movement with Gravity, but it didn't seem to affect it much. Instead, she went for Flash Cannon to disrupt the cannon arm and used Gravity on the missiles. The monster slapped Carbink away, causing its body to crack and the Pokémon to immediately faint.
Fuck. For a single hit to knock out Carbink like that…. This was going to be unpleasant. I made myself useless by preventing the wild Pokémon from getting near the main battle. I saw Kippie roll past me and slam into a tree, leaving her dazed for a few seconds before she got back into the fray. Larvesta saw the eagerness on Kippie's face and wanted to join her as well.
I told him he could fight these Pokémon or get in the ball; there was no way in hell I'd let him get involved in that yet. The giant demon was like a tyrant in the battle. It honestly reminded me of the raid battles for Sword/Shield and Scarlet/Violet. Except it was fucking terrifying being so close to it in real life.
As the battle progressed, Kippie and Cradily were knocked out. Well, it was more like they needed to go back into their Pokéballs to prevent any serious damage. Out of nowhere, Nina appeared right in front of me.
"Dude, we've been calling! There's a po-"
"Shut the fuck up and send out your Pokémon, Nina!" I shouted as I kept dealing with the wild Pokémon.
"Huh? What are yo-"
"GYARAROOOOOOHHHHH," the monster bellowed in rage.
"OH MY GOD IT'S A DEMON!" Nina shouted as she fell on the floor in fear. With a trembling hand, she released Metang and Cradily. I knew they wouldn't be of any help with the monster, so I had her deal with the wild Pokémon. I rushed towards Nautilus and the rest, who were panting heavily.
I gave them some rejuvenating cookies to bring their energy back up, sharing them with Olivia's Pokémon as well. The monster had some cuts and bruises, but still looked pretty healthy. The Pokémon were all bruised and bleeding, though that was mostly from the repercussions of the beast's attacks. A straight hit would've killed most of them.
"It's way too resilient to our attacks," Olivia said once she noticed I was with the group. "It's like nothing really hurts it. Thankfully, it's very slow."
"What moves have they been using?" I asked. Our Pokémon were giving us room to think of a plan and I intended to make full use of that.
"Mostly physical since my Pokémon are physical attackers. Your Malamar has been using Night Slash and Psycho Cut, Ferrothorn has been using Power Whip and Iron Head, Doublade is mostly sneaking around and going in with Slash and Shadow Claw, and your Marshtomp has been using Rock Slide and Mud Shot," she answered. "I think Shadow Claw has gotten a response from it, as well as Mud Shot."
'Shadow Claw and Mud Shot… Ghost-type move and a special attack based move.'
"Have you told the Pokémon?"
Olivia shook her head, "Haven't had time with all the dodging they've been doing."
"Ok, let's focus on Ghost-type attacks and special attacks," I told her before relaying the message to Nautilus. The change was barely noticeable, but still there. Nautilus' Hypnosis wasn't very effective, probably because of the massive difference in strength and the fact that it was from a different dimension.
Instead, he focused on Psybeam. Tetsu switched to Flash Cannon, though I asked her to keep using Gravity to mess with its missiles. Kippie was now spamming Mud Shot and Water Pulse while Doublade used Flash Cannon from afar and Shadow Claw up close. Again, there wasn't much of a difference, but the demon's face definitely showed some signs of discomfort.
And then it hit me.
"Nautilus, Foul Play!"
Nautilus didn't hesitate to rush in, grabbing the cannon arm and punching the demon's chest. It caved in almost immediately and the monster was sent tumbling backwards. The area was noticeably quieter, but I didn't let that fool me. There was no way that was enough to take it out.
"Tetsu, Vine Whip its arms and legs and use Gravity to keep it on the floor. Olivia, have your Lycanroc use Mud Shot to cover the limbs. Use Ice- or Fire-type attacks to freeze or bake it solid," I began commanding everyone. "Nautilus and Doublade, use Foul Play and Shadow Claw until it dies. Make sure to double tap that son of a bitch!"
With the last of my words, they all moved. Cradily assisted Tetsu with the Vine Whip trap, while Lycanroc also used some mud-based attack to help. Probopass was able to use some Fire-type move to bake the mud. Nautilus and Doublade rushed in for a double dose of attacks. I didn't take my eyes off of the three as they pummeled the behemoth.
While it did struggle, the constant centralized pressure on its limbs made it difficult for it to escape. However, its right arm was able to escape after the metal protrusion formed an energy blade, cutting through the vines and frozen mud. Before anything could happen, a pink shell-like object zoomed through the sky before dive-bombing down towards us.
A black figure with pink hair similar to Nautilus emerged from the shell, its aquamarine eyes shining brightly in anger. Before we could do anything, a pink mist filled the area before a powerful pink beam of energy blasted the demon into pieces, sending bits of flesh and circuitry everywhere.
Olivia slumped down onto her ass, sighing heavily in relief. I went in to care for Nautilus and the rest, releasing Kippie so I could treat her wounds. Once everyone was sufficiently healed, I recalled all of my Pokémon except for Nautilus, who stayed by my side and quietly scanned everything. I saw Olivia talking with Tapu Lele, who kept glancing at me. The legendary Pokémon then came over to me, observing me quietly.
Without warning, Tapu Lele's eyes glowed pink and a strange force wrapped itself around me. To Olivia's dismay, I was lifted into the air and thrown towards the portal. Tapu Lele's eyes now filled with a determined emotion, as if what she was doing was needed.
The portal started shrinking slowly, eventually closing me off from the Pokémon world. I was currently floating in an endless space of swirling shades of green. They started to grow darker as I approached another opening. As I passed through this one, I could see a small circle of darkness. It grew wider and wider until I popped out into a world of muted colors.
There were walls and stairs all over the place, some upside down or sideways. I recognized this place immediately.
