A New Trainer

1 World Info

Alright, here's the main info of the world.

If we were to put everything on a map, this fic has Kanto and Johto smack dab in the middle. Above Kanto, there is an unknown landmass about half as large that has Sinnoh connected to the east. Above Johto is Orre. To the west of Orre is Unova. Kalos is attached to both Unova and Orre. Galar is an island East of this central landmass. To the southwest is Hoenn, while Alola is an island south of Galar, a bit more west to be closer to Kanto. If this is confusing, it is also confusing for me.

The world is very large, there are way more landmasses than the regions. Most of it is unexplored because the legendaries don't want us mucking everything up. A day is just 18 hours, roughly nine hours of day and nine hours of night. A typical routine for trainers is: Wake up at 3am, train, battle, and make money until 5pm. Breakfast is around 4am, lunch around 9am, dinner at 4pm. Do with that what you will.

Gravity is about 2.5x earth's gravity, so some strong creatures all around. Humans here are more resilient, though still very easily killed by Pokémon moves. Pokémon are also more easily killed. Though new trainers don't have to worry about seriously harming other Pokémon because they are all relatively weak, ain't no way someone who just started gonna be able to fight an Elite Four member without their Pokémon getting seriously maimed or dying. Constant training to increase strength also increases a Pokémon's natural resilience and resistance to damage. In other words, if a level 60 Poké uses any move on a level 5, the weaker mon is dead. No way for it to survive unless the stronger Pokémon seriously holds back.

This narrative has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. If you see it on Amazon, please report it.

Talking about levels, trainer levels are ranked as Junior/Senior/Rookie depending on how they start, Ace Trainer, Veteran Trainer, Elite Trainer, Elite 4, Champion. Juniors get their first Pokémon from their families and start their journeys early at 12 or 13. Rookie Trainers went to a trainer school and get a Pokémon when they graduate at 15. Rookies can also choose to specialize in a profession or type, which requires another two years of school. Senior trainers are older trainers, typically 20 and older, that chose to do something else when they were young and are now deciding to become trainers. Senior trainers are required to an exam before they are allowed to catch or be given a Pokémon.

All of these trainer classes have a set requirement and responsibilities. Junior/Senior/Rookie trainers are those with 0-2 Gym Badges; Ace Trainers need 3-5 Badges and at least 4 Pokémon; Veteran Trainers need 6-7 Badges, 6 Pokémon, and at least a year as a trainer; Elite Trainers have 8 badges, 8 Pokémon, and have beaten at least 2 Elite 4; Elite 4 are decided by the League, but are generally from those that can give the Champion a challenge and reliably beat 90% of challengers. There are multiple Champion level Trainers, which run the League, but only one acting Champion per region at a time.

Also, training is like strength training or body conditioning. A fighter can't do much if he isn't getting stronger with workouts. Likewise, someone who is always building muscle isn't going to know how to fight or make proper use of that strength. A balanced routine is the way to go. No system, no color grading, no potential. Just magical fighting creatures.

For this story, no harem. I hate them with a passion. Too messy, too much to deal with, not fun in actuality. So, while MC may have some fun flings, only one girl at a time. If I do decide to add in romance.

Don't know what else I'm forgetting. Let me know what I should add to the auxiliary chap.
