He let out a low hum that seemed to shake the entire admin room. "Yes, Creator. This world is finalized. You should begin to fast forward until your first civilization has been formed. All Creators have this option for free, though some choose not to take it."
I tilted my head as I looked at him. "Why would they choose not to take it?"
"They wish to eliminate any possible threat to their evolving civilization, or through natural selection evolve them to be a certain way without spending points." I let out what I hoped was an understanding sound, and pulled up the stat page for humans.
Race Name Wuxia Human Comprehension 9 Agility 3 Strength 3 Lifespan 80 Luck 10 Awareness 2 Male:Female ratio 1.00 Example Adult Male Example Adult Female Racial Abilities Qi Sensing Cultivation Talent Basic Weapon Proficiency
I glanced towards Qinglong. "Is there any way I'd be able to do that for humans?"
He frowned in response. "Unfortunately, no. Wuxia Humans are a system preset. They cannot be edited through evolution, but the upside is that they cannot become extinct before the civilization era."
I didn't miss that last part. Before the civilization era. I hummed. "Alright. How do I begin the fast forward?"
"I can do it for you, Creator. I know you're not too fond of navigating through many panels." I laughed a bit. Walking under the gazebo, I enlarged the globe of the planet and watched it spin slowly.
"Start the fast forward." Without receiving a reply, I watched closely as the planet began speeding up. Thousands of full rotations were happening every second, as I zoomed in and out on certain parts I saw them. Creatures of the air, land, and water all evolving. Growing. Adapting. The ones in particular I looked out for were the monkeys.
Those, if I remembered correctly, would be my humans.
Congratulations! You have earned a basic achievement.
For the first time, a creature on your world has learned to craft tools. +15 Points
I clicked on the notification and the planet shifted, bringing me to the ape who'd crafted what seemed to be a makeshift sword. Not even half a second later, he had died and in his place were several of his offspring, wielding similar tools. I watched in fascination as the single family gradually grew into a tribe of monkeys using and developing tools, their hands and bodies morphing.
Rapidly, under my very eyes, I watched as the first human settlement evolved. I shouted a question back at Qinglong without even turning to look at him.
"Is it normal for them not to move from one spot?"
"For a Cultivation world, it is quite normal. It likely means that the qi density there is rather high." That made sense. I looked around the area, and it was rather beautiful. Massive trees and shrubbery, and very primitive shelters. It was located on the top of a mountain. I'd realized it only after I zoomed out. On a rather secluded island as well.
The world was enormous. I was beginning to finally understand what a tier 7 world size meant. The island the developing primates were on was perhaps the size of a medium to large country on earth, yet it covered maybe a hundredth the size of one of the four major continents. A sigh escaped me. It would take a long time for this world to entirely become civilized.
I scrolled around for a bit on the island. There were only four or five ruins throughout it. The closest was a few kilometers off the base of the mountain, though it would likely be a long time before any of the monkeys got there. I asked another question, my back still turned to Qinglong.
"When does the civilization era begin?"
Help support creative writers by finding and reading their stories on the original site.
"Whenever your race has finalized their evolutionary path, and has named their first settlement." I nodded.
"How long should it take?" Another question, but one I needed to know.
"Several more hours. Would you like to take a nap while you wait, Creator?" I stifled a yawn that had been building.
"Yes, that would be nice. Please wake me as soon as it happens, or if anything major happens beforehand." With a bit of concentration, I visualized a beautiful white bed that curved with the railing of the gazebo. With little dignity, I fell onto it and paid little mind as the world darkened.
----------------------------------------
A bright blue notification seemed intent on burning my eyes as I woke up. Ignoring Qinglong, though I hadn't even really heard what he said, I tried to read it through the tiredness.
The first race of Earth has entered the Civilization Era. Wuxia Humans have begun joining together to found a sect, naming it Azure Dragon Sect.
Wuxia Humans - Population: 1,800. Average Realm: Mortal Rebirthing, First Ascension
Basic Humans - Population: 3,500. Average Realm: Mortal.
Current Sects established - Azure Dragon Sect
I waved it away before questioning Qinglong. "Why do I have both Wuxia Humans and Basic Humans?"
"Basic Humans tend to naturally evolve. They have no cultivation talent, however, and cannot gain it through evolution." I nodded, standing up from the bed I was on. I zoomed in on the globe and frowned.
"The mountain I was looking at before, that's the Azure Dragon Sect right?" Qinglong nodded as I turned to face him. "So why is there only a few hundred people at most there?"
"Of course, Wuxia Humans evolved all across the world. Having a few hundred in one place at the moment is the most unbelievable part in my opinion." I shrugged, but accepted that made sense. I zoomed back in on the sect. Everyone within it had light blue and white robes, though none had weapons. I searched through the compound a bit before I found what seemed to be some kind of library.
Several people were reading a rather torn and destroyed notebook. They were older, with grayed hair and serious looks on their faces. I chose to watch silently, Qinglong staring into the globe from behind me.
"Have you finished deciphering the text, Xuhan?" I felt a smile grow on my face.
"Yes, Sect Master. This book... it really is a cultivation technique from the ancient civilization." Gasps echoed throughout the room.
"How did they manage to control the Qi?" Several people spoke over each other, though they all asked about the same thing.
"The technique says to sit down within an area dense with qi, and to let it flow through your meridians and dantian." The room was silent with shock.
Only the Sect Master spoke next -- a laugh from him echoing in the quiet hall. "We were idiots. We thought the Qi was to temper our fortitude, so we refused to let it in. We refused to see any other paths. We may be too old to learn from it, but the new generation of disciples..." His sentence was left unfinished, and his eyes seemed to cloud over as he looked out towards the door of the room.
"They will push through and cultivate, for the glory of the Azure Dragon Sect." The man who had deciphered the text, who was much younger than the rest of the people in the hall, spoke. Even he was in his late thirties at the least.
"Xuhan, notify every disciple. In two days, we will release this technique. We need at least thirty copies, can you do it in that time?" Xuhan nodded. I took this time to look at the title of the cultivation manual.
Celestial Dragon's Body.
I giggled. Cultivation technique names were so over the top. I stepped away from the globe. "Qinglong, how do I see if there have been any new sects created?"
"There's a menu called 'World Power Rankings.' It will show a list of all world powers, though you can specify how many you want to show at a time." I bowed again to Qinglong, before opening the Menu.
World Power Rankings
1. Crimson Gate Sect -- Average Realm: Mortal Rebirthing, Third Ascension (173 Members)
2. Azure Dragon Sect -- Average Realm: Mortal Rebirthing, First Ascension (304 Members)
3. Jade Lotus Sect -- Average Realm: Mortal Rebirthing, First Ascension (87 Members)
4. Wudang City -- Average Realm: Mortal. (610 Population)
5. Luosheng City -- Average Realm: Mortal. (509 Population)
...
I only bothered displaying the top five. Everything below those were fairly insignificant, though some of them had fairly audacious names. What truly surprised me though was the fact that the Azure Dragon Sect wasn't in first place.
Crimson Gate sect, huh? I spun the globe until I found the marker placed on their sect. They were located on the smallest of the four continents, though still many times larger than the island of the Azure Dragon Sect.
Their sect was located on a somewhat large mountain range, with nine peaks. It took me a decent amount of time before I realized the reason behind the average realm. On each peak was a single elder, and on the central peak was the sect master. Each of them had countless disciples. The elders all seemed to be around the fifth ascension, while the sect master... I brought up his page.
Ninth ascension. I let out a low whistle. That was pretty strong, huh? He seemed to luck out pretty hard on both talent and spirit root, though the cultivation manual he was using was fairly subpar. It did only cost 0.2 points I suppose. The name was quite domineering though.
Phoenix Ascension Manual.
It required the user to attune their Qi to the fire element and literally reforge their body through flame. Their Qi would repeatedly burn through 'weaker' flesh, and rebuild it stronger. I watched them for a while before it became clear nothing too interesting was happening. I began to inspect the rest of the world. What was everyone else up to?
