I was really starting to get annoyed by the amount of panels. With a sigh, I read through the most recent one. It was asking me what type of world I would like to create; QInglong had explained each option. Only one really interested me.
With a grand total of 500 points, I began my first shopping spree of the after life.

I purchased the Cultivation World package. Cultivation novels had been my favourite genre to read back on earth, and the idea of being able to control and create so many new and exciting stories made a smile grow on my face.
The massive dragon coiled around me, his head careening to look at the screens as they showed up. "Qinglong, how do I view the martial cultivation systems?"
A low hum rang from him before the screen in front of me shifted. "Just ask, Creator. It is an honour to serve you." I patted his scales softly in response as I read through the new page.
Immortal Bestiary Cultivate alongside beasts who have been tamed to follow you. Their growth is your growth, and vice versa. 30 points General Wuxia Cultivate the body and mind to its absolute peak. A single man to overthrow an army, a dozen to overthrow the world. 60 points Limited System Choose one of the other cultivation systems, and apply specific limitations. For instance, the General Wuxia system may be limited by bloodline. Dependant on Limitations General Xianxia They have eyes, yet cannot see Mount Tai. Build your spirit to the peak of neverending realms, ascend to new planes. A sword to strike down the heavens, a spear to pierce the earth, and an axe to cut through death. Immortals rule the world, and for good reason. 95 points Custom System You may self-define a system of cultivation if none of these options are suitable to your world. If the system acknowledges your design, it will be assigned a price, and placed on the list for future worlds. You may also earn a small income of points whenever your system is chosen by another Keeper. ??? Sons of Heaven This is not directly a system for cultivation, but can greatly influence the cultivation system. After choosing this option, you may begin development of talent-based systems which will be manually granted to chosen figures, or figures who follow a preset storyline. 120 points
I had to choose a system of growth for the people in my world.
It took me a solid minute to gather my thoughts. If I could truly control every aspect of the world, I doubted I could forever sit above the people clamoring for power. I myself would have to cultivate to at least a decent degree. Making people too powerful seemed like a rather poor idea, especially if their lifespan increased with it. It would be hard to stop them from eventually reaching my level. I didn't hesitate to voice my thoughts to Qinglong. "What benefit is it to make people so strong?"
"You don't have that information available yet, Creator. I'm sorry. But it is within my powers to say that you should hesitate to make your world one of extreme might." With that, my options were already rather clear-cut. With a sly glance towards my remaining points, I let out a small sigh. I could buy both still. That was good; I'm a sucker for a good story. With two gentle taps, I purchased both General Wuxia and the Sons of Heaven packages.
Welcome to the Sons of Heaven Design interface. This tutorial will help guide you through the step-by-step process of integrating your very own World System into your world. Be warned, additional features may cost extra points, so balance carefully.
With that simple notice out of the way, hundreds of menus popped up. I staggered slightly as I looked through them all. Some were related to features about life-events that could trigger the awakening of a system, others were for achievements. Some were simply to awaken a system simply when a person reached a certain age. There were varying global triggers, as well, but those menus were promptly closed after Qinglong confirmed they could be reopened later. And, quickly, I was down to just a few menus. The first was the actual design of the systems. For that, I chose a colour scheme that closely resembled the black and misty white of my outfit. I decided against enabling a feature to have artificial system intelligence within them.
The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
The next was for the features within the systems. I spent a few minutes setting up features that would be present in any system I handed out; a basic marketplace, a rather rigged gacha, and a list of skills and the practitioners progress. I closed that menu after. Any other features would be custom tailored to the system or person. I turned my attention to the next. System specific skills?
I expanded the list.
Identify Identify the name, nature, or key aspects of an object. Craft Craft specific materials, objects, or medicines if you have the requirements. Blueprint Create a 3d blueprint of a building, formation, or object you want to create. Regional Ranking Display the regional ranking of power. Names outside of the top 3 will not be listed. Treasure Loc... Locate divine trea...
Dumbfounded by some of the obviously broken choices on the list, I decided only to enable the regional ranking skill and identify. With all of those menus finally shut off, the next onslaught of notifications poured in. This time it was the customization for the general Wuxia system. I fiddled with the sliders for a bit. Talent rarity was set as a ridiculous one and a half times boost per two thousandths of a percent chance. If someone got unreasonably lucky, then their ascension to power would probably be pretty smooth. I smiled as I imagined myself in their shoes. Wouldn't that be fun, huh?
I moved on to the next area. Realms. The system mentioned that it would auto-generate based off the names of the realms, and I didn't have the points to argue. A custom realm progression cost twice as many as I had remaining. I could only hope the names were sufficient enough to get close to what I wanted.
Even still, the price of creating just six realms was unrealistically expensive. It doubled after every realm, starting at five. Another glance at my points.
Mortal Rebirthing 9 Minor Realms Qi Infusement 2 Minor Realms Body Refinement 9 Minor Realms Soul Refinement 9 Minor Realms Saint Realm 3 Minor Realms Land God 1 Realm
With the list ending at Land God, I finalized it. That would be the highest realm achievable at the moment. Before confirming, I turned to Qinglong. "If a person reaches the final realm before I add more, what happens?"
He snorted, licks of flame dancing around his mouth. "That's unlikely to happen, Creator. However if they do, their cultivation will feel as though it has hit an insurmountable wall that cannot be penetrated."
I gave him my thanks before turning back to the sea of menus. This was turning out to be a rather tedious process. I confirmed the selection of realms, before my eye caught yet another screen.
Like the Sons of Heaven menu asking me to enable features, this one wasn't much different. I hummed as I scrolled through what felt like plugins for my world. Cultivation medicines? Obviously. I selected a few other ones that were rather necessary; formations, varying qi density, natural sect formation, spirit beasts, qi types, and spiritual roots to name a few.
Some of them had less obvious features. Spiritual roots, for example, was a talent multiplier. However, after tweaking it, the increase in effectiveness one would have from their spiritual root was both several times higher, and several times rarer. Qi types was another. Someone could attune their natural qi to an element, and when cultivating near places more dense with it, their speed of cultivation would be faster.
It was rather simple, but the descriptions did help. I was lucky all of those were free, as my points had begun to dwindle quite low by this point. I ignored the option to purchase more sentient races for now, the same going for more ai companions. They would be inferior to Qinglong anyway, so I didn't bother. I spent 180 points on both power systems, and a further 315 on the realms. Each major realm doubled the last in cost, and had started at 5 points. It was a rather costly venture, but definitely well worth it. If I continued, I'd have only a meagre 5 points remaining.
Without hesitation I clicked the purchase button.
Congratulations! You have earned two achievements.
For spending over 200 points, you earned the Basic Keeper achievement. +20 points.
For spending at least 250 points in a single purchase, you earned the Spendthrift achievement. +20 points.
For spending over 500 points in the tutorial, you earned the Basic Keeper+ achievement. +25 points.
For spending over 500 points in a single purchase, you earned the Spendthrift+ achievement. +5 points.
I felt a breath I hadn't even realized I was holding leave my body at that. I'd already gone back up to 80 points. Hopefully it would be enough for whatever was next, though that was doubtful considering just how many I'd spent on this one section.
"With your love of a good story," Qinglongs voice broke me from my thoughts. "I don't believe you'd wish to purchase a culture determinant." I scrunched my brows. What did that mean?
"It would push your people to a certain goal." He clarified with a chuckle.
I felt my mouth open in understanding. "No, no. I wouldn't want that." I closed the next menu that popped up. Absolutely not. My people would develop themselves, though with occasional pushes from me. I did need a good story to watch after all. I hummed happily.
I turned to Qinglong after reading the next menu. It wanted me to select my first God. "How would you like to be the God of the East?" With a silent nod from him, I selected his name and carried on. Now I could finally create my world.
Perhaps I was a little too excited. This was probably going to take a long, long time. Oh well, I'm sure Qinglong would love to help.
