Chapter 61: The Wall

Armad frowned because he was already tired of the task Babara had given him over three hours ago. After Armad had agreed to start learning how to control his eyes with Babara, the man pulled a large stone out of his bag and made Armad put his right hand on it.

The rock was smooth and white as fat. It was wide enough for three people to put their hands on it so Armad had no problem of where to put his hand on. His problem was his hand had been stretched for so long and a green flash from the rock had been blinding him ever since. He felt as if the rock was looking for something in his body but he didn't know what. Babara had been asleep for about an hour but before he fell asleep, he warned Armad not to take his hand off the rock until the rock stopped glowing. The biggest annoyance was not telling Armad the benefits of the exercises.

Armad was about to wake the man up to tell him he was tired when the stone stopped glowing. He heaved a sigh of relief and took his hand away. That was when he saw some small inscriptions on the rock, something he would have ignored if he didn't see his name at the beginning of it. The first word on the list was his name.

"Let's see what's in your core," Babara said, sounding alerted. The man had probably not been asleep all along.

"In my core?" Armad raised an eyebrow. He knew what was in his core but he hadn't seen the stone before.

Written on the stone was:

Name: Armad

Tribe: Wilberforce

Titles: Heir of Wilberforce, Al'yaya

Djinn: ??

Pol: 1000 years

Essence board: Photon Jump, Dance of Uncertainty, Lightning, The Great Cold, Locust, Wilberforce Sword Dance.

Babara nodded in thought. "You must have learned many things from Zaikid and during your journey to find Triple Factor. If I get it correctly, your grandfather was the one who initiates you and gives you the 51 years of pol that helped you to enslave your djinn, which is of course the first step any Bender will take. Then he taught you how to control lightning and all the Bends related to it.

"He later taught you attacks that combined both lightning and sword essence. One such attack is the Dance of Uncertainty. But the problem with it is that it's not so effective on someone above your pol. You mostly used your miyura to increase your pol so you can use it.

This book's true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience.

"Zaikid has taught you other great Bends such as the photon jump, which you can only use once in a while because of the compression on your core.

"And he even taught you the Wilberforce sword dance which is a cross over. No wonder you are not good at it and every time you use it you end up somewhere. The last time you used it, you lost two years of your life with no idea how it happened.

"And then after you get the Wilberforce Sword from Hidaya, you start to learn the art of sword Bending. You somehow managed to get a second cross over which allows you to manipulate gravity around your opponents.

"Before you lose your miyura, you can use it to increase your pol. It was also the same thing that gives you the title of Heir of Wilberforce.

"You also got the title of Al'yaya in Mikironomada and then you got the Book-sword in the Non-Touch dungeon.

"I think that's all you have right now. Is there anything you want to add?"

Armad was silent before finally shaking his head. "No, that's all."

Babara nodded and straightened up. "Then it's time to cross the wall, let's do what brings us here."

Immediately the two made their way to the huge wall of water which was flowing as if it would never stop. The wall was truly amazing especially considering how ships traveled on it without crashing. Armad had long wondered how a ship could travel over the wall. It always seemed like a miracle to him and he would have to see it today.

They arrived at the border where the ground ended and the wall of water stood a short distance from it. Armad peeked into the rift between the water wall and where the land was cut off. Great darkness greeted him.

Babara wasn't paying attention to him and he just pulled a fifth-grade Ayrid out of his pocket and turned it into a small boat. He retreated a bit and then jumped across the rift. Surprisingly, he landed on the water and stood on his feet. Armad thought Babara would fall into the rift or drown, but the man somehow stood still on the water as if he was on the ground. Slowly, Babara put down the boat and got inside. He raised his hand to Armad, inviting him to join him.

Armad couldn't believe what was happening but he still jumped into the boat. And despite the added weight, the boat didn't sink.

Babara looked at Armad's astonished face and smiled. "The wall is like the ground. We don't fall by walking on the ground, do we? You'll get it gradually. Right now, we're going to go into the wall."

Babara pulled out his staff from where he tied it behind his back and struck the water just below their boat. In response, the boat sank into the wall. Armad reached out and grabbed the sides of the boat to avoid falling into the water. Soon Armad found himself inside the wall surrounded by water but the water wasn't touching them.

He felt a chill run through his body as if he swallowed ice blocks. His hair stood on end and his heart began to pound. If something were to happen and the water swallowed them... He didn't want to know the outcome of that.

Babara saw his contorted expression and just smiled.

After a few minutes, the boat began to accelerate, causing Armad to quickly sit up and hold the boat again. It was so fast that he'd to close his eyes. Suddenly, he felt as if he had fallen into a deep hole. He was forced to open his eyes.

What he saw was surreal. Their boat was thrown out of the wall to the open air. He turned around and saw the wall behind them. He then realized that either they were currently in the middle of the wall or they were behind it.

After they had fallen for more than fifty seconds, Armad clapped his hands and called out all the tricks he had up his sleeve to defend himself. Their bodies could explode if they fell from that distance. Besides, he didn't know what they would meet on the ground.
