Chapter 38 - Encounter

Appearing in front of Merabel, James wanted to say so much but noticed he couldn’t move his mouth. In a commanding voice, Merabel said to James, “I guess three months is just barley fast enough to become my student. Congratulations! You have managed to become the student of one of the three heavenly mages, me. As you already know, my name is Merabel, and I am one of three who are at the top of our organization. Now that you have become a first circle mage, we can finally start your real training, but I'll give you the rest of the day off to rest.” A watch appeared out of nowhere on James wrist. “I just gave you one of the tools our members get. It's just a simple computer enchanted with magic used to browse the magical web. You can find out what that is for yourself. You can also use it to check your status in our organization. It's the app called Hidden Truth. Now I have assigned you your room. Just check the watch.” After Merabel finished her sentence, she disappeared. James was finally able to open his mouth again but had no need now that Merabel was gone. So instead James used his new watch to try and find his room. After three months in a cave, James needed to rest in a real bed. The watch was surprisingly easy to navigate. James noticed it was basically the same as a smartphone, just way more advanced in its features.

After messing around with the watch for a minute, James found an app used to navigate. On the app, his room was one of the suggested options. Somehow they managed to have each watch custom-made for each student. After following the path, the app showed James he had made it to his assigned room. Stepping foot in the room, James didn't even look around the room; he went straight to the bed and was knocked out instantly. James opened his eyes but noticed he wasn’t still in the room but instead was in the plains. James thought, “Why am I here? I wasn't mediating.” While standing up. Once James was fully stood up, he started to look around. Every other time James appeared within viewing distance of a floating structure, but this time it wasn't in sight. Instead, James noticed that in the distance there was a creature running towards him. James was freaking out. He had never seen another creature in this realm who knows if it would be deadly or not. The creature made it to James before he could even react and bow. “Greetings master. Wait a minute; your not master. But your soul gives off the same scent.” The creature appeared to be in deep thought. After a few minutes, the creature yelled, "Ah, that must be it. You must be master's." Before the creature could finish its sentence, it fell to the ground screaming. “Im sorry, master. Please have merry. I won’t say anything.” After the creature finished, it waved its hand, and James disappeared from the plains. After James was gone, the creature went back to wherever it came from while mumbling "Sorry, master” the whole time. James didn’t immediately wake up. By the time James woke up, it was the next day, and someone was knocking on the door.

James got up out of bed and opened the door. Outside the door was a mage James had never seen before. James was about to say something, but the mage did first. “Merabel said to meet her in her office. She sent the way to it over to you; watch.” After finishing their words, the mage turned around and walked away. James closed the door, grabbed his watch, and went right to Merabel's office. On the way to the office, Jame finally got to slightly explore the Hidden Truths building. The structural design was otherworldly. There were floating spheres all over the place. Mages were flying around. But none of that compared to what James thought when he walked through the main plaza. The main plaza had a giant floating tower that was the main processor for the organization. The tower stood over everyone. James felt tiny just from seeing it at a distance; he could only imagine how big it would be up close. James wanted to see it up close but was already taking his time getting to Merabels office. James was hoping not to piss off his teacher on his first official day of class.
