Police have arrived quickly and in force. Has Zora triggered a change in policy by frying a man?
We are now holding official exceptional travel documents and even some papers for our cars.
An official is using a bullhorn to inform us that we ought to wait for the road to be checked and improved to the degree that busses can pass through. And it seems like our new faces crash biometric devices, so our new papers cannot be used for air travel to North America. O well, that is not on my agenda anyway.
A few people are leaving anyway. The transformation has turned some of the cars into steam-powered road engines, some of which can be powered by spirit coins. Indeed their money has been transformed. Fifty euros have turned into one iron rank coin. Is that a good exchange rate? The idea that the very multiverse may literally shortchange us is blowing my mind. Though that has no practical application. My companions are looking strangely at me as I explain why I am chuckling.

Getting Zora to wear a conjured poncho and only a conjured poncho has been difficult. In this specific case the issue was not a clash of colours or a very basic, unflattering cut, but a lack of underwear.
If you ever witnessed a transformation to iron rank, you will know that garment worn then is salvageable. Having her in a car will be bad enough. Telling her that has not improved matters.
Z: No peeking !
Lidija and I look at each other. That serves as a reason for demonstrating that there is room for ocular escalation beyond the withering look.
Z: Bring it on
The effect is spectacular. Both in terms of stink and sounds that really threaten your digestion just by listening from a discreet distance, as well as in its end result. After passage through a number of tubs with soapy warm water I have also conjured and filled with a conjured bucket, she does a credible imitation of a Bond girl emerging from the hot pond. The withering look we are getting this time seems to be underlain with a hint of a smug triumphant smile.
Her scales have turned irridescent. The metallic sheen comes out only in certain angles and it is subtle, but it takes our breath away.

That leaves me with a vexing issue. How does one mention to a lady that certain bodily functions have ceased operating?

Thanks to the firefighters that arrived later in the day, the restaurant is running again and we are enjoying its services. That has the added benefit that we can pay in cash and accept spirit coins in exchange, justifying that by having shown people how to reactivate the lights and the hot showers in the facilities building with lesser spirit coins.
Z: Hungary looks like the best route to me.
P: Yes. No difficulties with toll roads.
M: We have two conventional cars now, though
P: I would prefer to ride my unconventional car, at least up to the border, so that Zora and I can train our essence abilities and my car does not require spirit coins to run, as long as I am in it.
Z: So we will get better in them?
P: Yes, though we should do the meditation training again.
L: Leaving tomorrow morning?
Z: Yes. Do you want to stay with us?
L: Yes. My cousin finally called back. Things are bad at home.
