Consultum ultimum

We are meeting for breakfast. And I almost wrote „the family“. That shows my problem. The emergency gave my a place, well institution, to belong to and then took it away. Nor did they take it away maliciously. I killed that guy. He deserved it, but I did it and that broke the rules.

Zora looked impeccable.A perk of iron rank. Maria stuck to tea this morning.

In hindsight I should not have sent a physical copy of my diary. Sis, please scan the thing, encrypt it well and remove the offensive pages.

No, I am not going to go emotional on you. He had it coming and everybody of those after him was a danger to me. Though I should probably try to not zonk out at the breakfast table.

Z: Hello, are you having a vision or is something else wrong?

P: What, no, I was just thinking of my sister. Have you had visions?

Z: No, no visions. Just deliveries.

M: Problematic deliveries.

Lidija says nothing. Wise. Neither do I. Not so wise.

Z: We had a discussion yesterday. As I was trying to tell you. While you were on the dark side of the moon.

P: Sorry.

Z: We are forced to take the deal. Can you make them a hard copy of our abilities excluding the racial abilities? We are opening up only a minority of our abilities that way.

P: Sure. Right after breakfast.

I do not point out that their racial abilities are likely to be found on Wikipedia. We have to keep it civil here, children are present, even though they do not understand us, and you have to respect a willingness to be reasonable in spite of a hangover.

Nor are they entirely wrong. I have considered their concern. There is a drawback. But still we need a unified command if we are to survive this. Even if we split up the group, we would be wiped out without the EOA guys. I was almost wiped out going in with Lisa and she was a fighter of some experience.

I should start doubting the wisdom of our patrons, but I have given up on understanding them at this point. Who gives out a Void essence just so?

The author's content has been appropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.

And secondly, they would be observed fighting. Their abilities would come out sooner or later. Nope, their main concern is not practical. They are emotionally attached to the concept of privacy. At the end of the day I do not understand these women. I am tired of it and have given up on that.

Z: Hello?

P: Sorry.

Z: What now?

P: I was thinking about how to survive this trip.

M: Survive.

P: Yes.

M: You are serious.

P: Yes. … How many times have you fought with your life at stake?

M: None.

P: Tactically we are all shooters respectively healers, if you will. So we could adopt a formation with you three in the center, EOA guards in front and me in rear guard. Alternatively I could take point.

L: That sounds like a plan.

P: Yet the unexpected always happens. And we also need to cover the strategical level.

Z: Strategic? Our strategy is to shoot all monster at a distance before they can hit our front guard isn’t it?

P: Yes. But we need to avoid the GDN. So do we pick a space that is so small that they just send a minimal team, because it is not worth a full team, or do we take a space so large that they cannot afford to fully clean it up?

Z: Let me guess, we need to show them the detection orb?

--

We are meeting in another restaurant. Zora knows that she must not let the GDN learn that men of the EOA are meeting a very mixed group of transformed. She is not stupid. I do not wish to even suggest that. She has one specific issue.

#1: We have two magic guns plus your robot. That makes five damage dealers, one healer and six guards.

P: No scouts?

#1: We have nobody with the skill set, unless you deem your robot capable of that.

P: No communication so far.

#3: Right. I see. You have never tested it in battle?

P: No.

#3: Then it will form the second half of the rear guard

P: Understood

#3: You’ll enter first. Be ready to boost everybody but hold off on it. If you meet GDN, run.

P: Understood.

Z: That leaves the choice of target.

#2: We have access to GDN communications

P: Oh

Z: Oh

#2: We’ll pick the first available target.

Z: But isn’t the choice of target important?

#2: We are running out of time. They’ll soon be able to cover everything again.

P: Understood

Z: Should we depart today instead of tomorrow morning?

#3: No

P: No

Z: Why

#3: We want everybody well rested and deviations from the plan lead to mistakes.

#3: Is the chain of command clear?

P: Yes

#3: Very well, till tomorrow then

--

We are eating out, as we want to keep the safe house clean.

Z: You just agreed to everything.

P: Yes. This is a military operation. He had more and better information than I.

Z: But you cannot just trust that man

P: Then call the operation off

She just shakes her head

And I am not going to instill a sensible military mind set in her. I am giving up.
