-=Shiona POV=-
After we leave the elven car-wannabe we walk around a bit before coming across a large open area.
“By the way, do you even have any plan on how to find out what you can do?”
In response I wave one of my wings at him, creating a gust larger than what should’ve been made with a wave the speed of the one I performed, sending Plush flying slowly into the crown of one of the trees nearby.
“By experimenting of course.”
Plush then comes back out of the leaves with the sound of, well, someone rustling leaves and says:
“Point taken.”
I keep waving my wings, not flapping them, but rather just waving them at a decent speed, creating gusts of wind which rustles the leaves of nearby trees as well as making a large number of them fall off, bothering the birds in the sky by interrupting their flight path and even making some of them crash into each other and falling to the ground.
I walk up the the birds and see that they’re about half the size of me.
“Hey Plush? Do you know how to cook birds?”
“... Would it really be a good idea to eat birds if you’re almost a bird?”
“Well humans are almost monkeys but the tribe that Indiana found ate monkey brains.”
“...”
“Sides, I’m not willing to give up nuggets!”
“... Fair enough, I don’t know how to make any complicated dishes with anything other than chicken, but nuggets can’t be that hard… I think…”
I nod with satisfaction and start thinking.
‘Well what else have I been able to do since I came here three years ago?’
I walk up to one of the trees and try kicking it.
*thunk*
Despite neither having any training, form, grace nor style my straight kick still left a large Y-shaped indentation in the bark of the tree.
‘Okay, strong legs, fan arms, and what else?’
I think for a while, however I’m unable to think of anything, I mean all the time I’ve been here the only things I’ve done is stay at my nest and survive for three years by eating fruit from that one tree.
‘Actually, speaking of the tree.’
I look at my waist where the tree had wrapped itself around me and turned into a copper colored wooden belt.
‘Well Plush has that fancy book, so what can you do?’
I take one of the red fruits-turned-orbs from the belt and eat it.
“...”
‘... I don’t feel any different…’

The fruit then grows back on the belt within a few seconds while I keep wondering about just what this accomplished.
I try waving my wing.
*fwoosh*
However it doesn’t seem like the gust of air is any stronger than before, so I then try kicking the tree again.
*thunk*
And again the indentation in the tree is no larger than before.
I remember what Plush explained to me about those jellies, and about how the red ones were made from healing potions, so I fly up into the sky and grab on of the birds with a talon before they can fly away from me and land on the ground with the other.
I then scratch the back of the bird, making red liquid start trickling down from the back of it, so sit down on the ground and grab another red fruit from the belt and feed it to the bird.
*fzz* *VOOSH*
The bird then gets lit on fire and burns to a crisp, not dying until halfway through when I finally stopped hearing that hellish squawking.
“...”
“... Shiona… Are you okay?”
I look at myself, worried that any moment my green wings will turn into chatcoal, however no such thing happens.
I do see a bit of a red hint on my wings, though that’s probably just due to the sundown.
“Yes… I think…”
“That’s good, but…”
Plush looks upwards and I do the same.
“All the birds must’ve left from all that squawking, I don’t think we’ll be able to find out what the rest of them do…”
It was as he said, there were no longer any birds in the sky.
“PULL!”
I look to Plush and see that he’s just thrown a small rock into the sky.
*clack*
The rock lands on the ground.
“What?”
“Target practice, let’s try again, PULL!”
He throws another stone into the sky, this time I try to hit it with a gust.
*PHWUIT*
But when I swing my wing forwards, rather than a gust of wind hitting the stone a small ball of fire is sent out, hitting the rock and carrying on for a bit, the rock now having a hole in the middle of it, before disappearing fully.
Plush and I share another silent moment.
I wave my wing again, just as fast as the last time, and just like then a small fireball flies out, though looking at it more closely I see that it looks more like an arrow of fire rather than a ball.
I look at my arms yet again, and although the red color in the sky has disappeared it’s still very much present on my feathers.
“... Do you still want to try and see what the other orbs do?”
“I… No, I need to think this over a bit… Let’s go back to the carriage and… Let’s continue tomorrow…”
And just like I said we then head back to the aforementioned carriage.
*jiggle jiggle*
On our way back we found ourselves facing a large see through blob with a rock inside, a slime if you will.
“That’s odd…” Says Plush, however I realize it’s a good opportunity to have one last experiment with the fire, and I wave my arm at the slime, still fairly quickly but much slower than before.
*FWOOSH*
This time, rather than an arrow, a cloud of fire the size of the gusts which I was previously able to make and covers the slime, setting it on fire and making it slowly dry out and shrink in size.
When the slime has almost completely disappeared the slime suddenly starts growing larger again, becoming the same size as before, no, becoming a bit larger even, and now being red rather than see through.
“Uhm, what just happened!?”
“I don’t know… the only slimes I’ve seen were green…”
We both look at the slime as it starts wiggling it’s way-
“?” “?”
-Away from us.
“I’m not sure, but I really don’t think it’s a good idea to let that thing go!”
Plush then runs up to the slime, starts glowing green and travels through the slimes while taking the core of the slime with him.
*splosh*
The red slime then liquefies completely and Plush puts the core inside of the pouch on his book.
“Well let’s carry on, we can probably find out what this is when we get to the city.”
