I awakened to find myself in that same room I was hiding in, before I would track down Princess Stallatia and hopefully save her…
What was that vision?...
I’m not sure… It seems like we were out for a while, and we have a new power: Premonition. I’ve deactivated it, because of its mana cost. I don’t know how we got it, but it obviously has something to do with that vision.
Premonition, huh? Nice, being able to see and alter the future would be super helpful.
Yeah... But HOW did this happen? That vision, it was obviously of the past, to tell me what happened. But I don’t understand how it can give me that power.
Well don’t look at me. I couldn’t possibly imagine where this all came from in the first place… I assume that the mural of the old queen is what sparked the vision in the first place.
Well, I say we give it a test run, see if we can’t find Stallatia with it.
Good idea, then we have to find that Esoterrastar! I wanna’ see if its where the vision told us!
Let’s get this over with… Princess Rigel, huh?
Oh lord, don’t even start. That poor girl… Liyoxis and Lian are monsters, but I may not have even been here right now, if it weren’t for them… Then there’s Demistar… Where do I begin?
Maybe we should think about this later, Stallatia first. Activating now.
A premonition hits me- It’s me and Steriya! We’re in some sort of dungeon, we’re teleporting about, until we find Stallatia… We quickly turn to find that we’re teleported away, on… Are we on the moon? I look up, at the planet above us, the ring revolving around it slowly… Steriya speaks to me, silently staring, as we turn to look at the planet again. She nods, we must have been using telepathy. We’re teleported to an open space… “Demi, it should be here! Where did it go?!” Steriya shouts, as she looks around… I manage to see a Ryleth, we’re near it. I have everything I need.
The premonition ends, and I awaken to my current consciousness again…
So that’s how it works.
Interesting.
We should get to work quickly, if we just teleport into the room Stallatia is in, and teleport her to Neo Genesis Haven, then we may be able to save her. We just have to be quick, REALLY quick.
I wouldn’t be so sure, they’re probably using some sort of trap. It’ll teleport us away the moment we get even close!
Tracking Device. We can place a tracking device inside of the building, set it off, see where it goes, and try again.
But what if they remove it? Or it’s not taken with it? What do we do then?
Well, we HAVE to rescue her as soon possible- New premonition, altered circumstances, this time we’ll watch out for what happens.
I fall unconscious again, as the premonition hits me. “Demi… Are you SURE about this future stuff?” Steriya asks, as she looks around. “I mean, it’s still hard to believe you even have this premonition stuff…” She says, as we continue to make our way down the corridor… “I guess I just find it all so weird, that technically, this will never happen… You know?” She says, until we Princess Stallatia- A woman appears next to her, grabs her, and shrouds herself in some sort of cloak of purple mist, until it finally disperses and they’re gone… Just like last time, we’re teleported to the moon. We stare at each other again, obviously opting to use telepathy, since there’s no air on the moon. I look around, and spot the two chains that extend into the distance and up to the other two moons. Steriya jumps above me, lands on top of me, and teleports me into my nest- “Hey, past Demi, if I’m right. Don’t go just yet, I know it’s mana costly, but stay for a moment. First: give everyone a little more trust, I admit I’ve heard of reincarnation, but it was quite the shock to learn that you were from another universe to begin with. We still love you, and it’s actually kind of reassuring to know that we have SOMEONE who’s actually kind of mature watching over us. What I’m saying is… We love you, and we don’t care where you’re from. From the moment you were born or reborn into this world, you became our sister, no matter what…” She says, revealing the kind of chance I decided to take, the extent I had to go to, convince her to work with me on all of this… Maybe I was wrong…
Steriya continues: “Second: Demi, I still find this all so hard to believe, but on the impossible off chance that it really IS happening… Then I think if you could explain it all to past me properly, then Past Steriya should be able to get Stallatia out fast enough.” Steriya opens the hologram on her arm, revealing a three dimensional map- She mapped out the dungeon! “I made this map, this is where she’s being held. If I can get a coordinate reading of her exact location, I can probably teleport her and the entire room out of there.” She deactivates the display, and sits down.
She sighs, as she looks off into the distance. “It’s so weird, Demi. Aren’t I technically only alive, as long as Past Demi keeps up the Premonition… Who am I kidding? Enough of this Charlotte, let’s get to the work.” Steriya says, rolling her eyes, and standing up.
I end the premonition, and awaken...
Well shit… Future Demi and Future Steriya did it all… And there's nothing else to mention!
You wanna’ talk about it?
NOPE.
We WILL talk about it.
I know.
We have to move quickly, we don’t know how far into the future that was.
Right!
I use the teleporter, and return to my Nest.
Demi - “Steriya! Come to my room quick, I know where Princess Stallatia is!”
Steriya teleports to me, while I grow myself in size, and begin work on the map of the Dungeon Stallatia is trapped in. “I’m here! Where is she?!” Steriya says, as she leans down to look at me.
Demi - “She’s in a dungeon within a few miles outside of Ryleth, I have a map of it I’m constructing right now. You go look for it, and then we can figure at Stallatia’s coordinates, and you can teleport her out of there.”
She just stares at me, then stands up… “You’re sure? Where did you learn all of this?” She says, as she looks back down at me.
Demi - “We don’t have long, please Steriya. Get moving.”
She folds her arms, but nods and complies anyways, green sparks of lightning erupting from her body as she teleports.
About an hour later, just after I finished the map, and threw it to the open space right next to my nest, Steriya returns, standing next to it. “You were right, Demi, it really was there. You’re certain Stallatia is in there?” She says, as she looks down at me.
Demi - “Yep! Look at the map. You see Stallatia? Figure out where Real World Stallatia is with it, then teleport her here.”
She nods, and opens up her arm piece, quickly running some calculations on it. She raises her hand and holds it out to her right, then turns a little. “Alright, teleporting now:” She says, just before teleporting two cells next to her, gently resting against her hand.
Demi - “Steriya, quickly, remove her from the cage, she may be captured again!”
Steriya’s eyes widen from half a second, before teleporting in, then teleporting out with Princess Stallatia. “So this is her?” She asks, as she rests the sleeping girl against her leg.
Demi - “Yep. I’ve never seen her myself, but I’ve met her mother, so I’m just making an assumption here. Alright, teleport over, and tell them Sirius found and rescued her. Keep a very close eye on Stallatia, the kidnappers may strike again.”
She’s surprised for a moment, but she nods and teleports away with the Princess. I look to the side, and notice one of the ancients in the distance. Those things are incredible, it’s hard to describe their size, in a way that really conveys it all. They’re the size of continents, yet they walk around. They must be millions, maybe even billions of times more powerful than I am…
Demi - “Hey, Sirius. You there?”
Siri - “Yes. Weren’t you supposed to be looking for Princess Stallatia?”
Demi - “I already found her. I was hoping to talk with you about what we should do.”
Siri - “Are you serio- Don’t- But yeah, Celest and I will probly be up there in ten. See ya’.”
Demi - “Until then!”
I looked at the model map I made, it was still sitting there, along with the cage Princess Stallatia was in. I decide to try and call up Demistar, I could probably use her help. Besides, I have something to ask her…
-√F-
“Hey.” I say, before looking at Celest, who’s resting on my chest, watching this movie with me… “Yeah?” She asks, as she look up at me, our eyes meeting-
Her eyes widen in realization, as our powers exchange information between us. “Oh! For real?! Dang! That’s great to hear!” She shouts, as she turns onto her front, holding herself up with her arms, and now looking down at me, her legs resting against my abdomen.
I look over to the open space next to us, then back at her- “Can ya’ get off meh’?” I ask, with a light chuckle.
She rolls off me, landing on her feet. “Sorry- Now come on, no time like the present!” She says, before running over to the door-
Royal Road is the home of this novel. Visit there to read the original and support the author.
I vault myself over the couch, and walk over, looking at her. “Movin’ pretty quickly now, huh?” I ask, as we walk down the street. “Hey, Celest! Hangin’ out with your boyfriend~?” One Celest’s sisters ask, after approaching us. “No, we’re just friends, Flare.” Celest says, as the fiery little fairy girl floats in front of us.
I stare at her for a moment, remembering the majority of Celest’s family are subspecies that went extinct long ago. “Sorry, hope it’s not rude- What species are ya’ again?” I ask, interrupting whatever she was about to say. “Oh, ah- I’m a Blazedaughter under the Blitz family. You’re Sirius, right? I heard you’re a Kraken?” She asks, as she floats there, with a smile on her face.
I simply nod, and sprout a tentacle from my arm. “Yep, ‘pretty cool. ‘Comes with all kinds’a powers too.” I say, as the tentacle disappears.
A dragon lands next to Flare, and looks at her. “Flarenzerva Genesis! You’re late.” He says, as he crawls up to us. “Sorry Calvinaz Genesis. I just saw Celest, and I wanted to meet her boyfriend.” She says, as she points at me, causing Calvinaz to in turn look at me himself.
“He is NOT my boyfriend!” Celest exclaims, as she slams her foot into the pavement, cracking it. “Whatever.” Flare says, as she rolls her eyes.
“Greetings, I am Calvinaz Genesis.” He says, as we step to the side. “I’m Sirius Maelstrom Bask. It’s a pleasure to meet you, Calvinaz Genesis.” I say, as I bow. “I see, you must have met other dragons. Please, tell me your stories.” He says, as Celest bickers, and Flare teases.
I begin. “He was’a Sea Dragon’a ‘course. ‘Name was Kriptide Vulk. Specifically, he was a Sub-Volcanic Dragon. So he could breath both magma and scalding water. After my dad died, I was lost. He brought me back to who I was, and now am today.” I say, as I reminisce about my old friend…
Calvinaz nods slowly, taking in everything I say with pride and dignity. “Honorable, as all Dragons should be. What happened to him? Did he die a warrior’s death, defending his hoards of riches?” I shrug, I never saw what did him in, but I always assumed it was something of the like. “I dunno’, he just up’n disappeared one day.” I say, as he continues to respectfully nod.
He decides to lie down, yet still towering well over me. “So, you’re a Kraken. I heard your kind gets quite large in size, Sirius Maelstrom Bask.” I nod again. “Yes, Krakens do. I’mma little larger than yer’ sister Demitallis. Celest and I should get goin’. We’re runnin’ late.” I say, as I turn to look at the tower.
I turn to look at Celest, who’s now just talking to flare, obviously having gotten bored of the play fighting. “Hey, Celest, we should get going.” I say, raising my voice a little, over their own. “Ah- Sorry Flare. You heard him.” She says, as she shrugs and walks over to me.
“Yeah, I guess the LEGENDARY CREATURES~ are too busy for us normal mythical creatures, Calvinaz Genesis.” She says, as she floats over and lands on his head. “Come, the others await. Sirius Maelstrom Bask is right.” She rolls her eyes, obviously unimpressed by his one track mind.
After a while, Celest spots Vexalan and I assume her close brother on the other street. “Hey guys!” She calls out, surprising them. “Hi Celest! Is that Sirius?” The gray cat boy calls out, as he waves at us in excitement. “Yeah, come say hi!” She says, causing him to run over, after grabbing Vexalan’s hand.
“So you’re Sirius Bask, huh? I’m Lex.” He says, as he holds out his hand, and I shake it. “Yep, it’s good to meet you too. Pretty formal, eh’?” I ask, surprising him. “Ah, yeah, kind of. You know how it is, I’m sure.” He says, as he places his hand behind his back.
“Hello Celest, Hi Sirius.” Vexalan says, once she’s gotten a chance to speak. “Oh, have you two already met?” Lex asks, after turning to look at Vexalan. “Yeah, we met the other day. It was just before we hung out.” She says, as she looks at him from the corner of her eyes.
Lex looks back at me again, and speaks up. “Anyways. Where ya’ headed? Also… The others said you’re Celest’s boyfriend?” He says, but I nervously motion that he’s wrong- “No-no-no. We’re just friends.” I say, causing him to simply nod.
He looks back at Vexalan, then at me. “Well, it was nice meeting you, but Vexalan and I should probably get going. See ya’.” We depart, once again walking towards Demitallis’s tower.
We arrive just outside of the castle, but we meet a rabbit girl just as she’s exiting the castle. “Veloura!” Celest greets her, surprising her. “Hey Celest! Is that Sirius?” She asks, pointing at me.
“Yes!” Celest says, before she’s suddenly kicked and sent flying- “Ce-Celest!” I shout, as I whip around to find out where she landed- Veloura grabs my shirt, and pulls me in, our eyes meeting-
She stares at me with the kind of glare I’ve only seen my mother and father give, when I was really young... “If you ever hurt one of my siblings again, I will destroy your fucking world…” She whispers, as her eyes stare into my soul…
“Veloura! What the hell?!” Celest says, as she picks herself up, rubble falling off of her. Veloura releases me, and I nearly fall on my back, still surprised by the girl. “Sorry Celest! You know how it is, I’ve got bunny legs, they just kinda’ whenever they want!” She calls to her sister, as Celest runs back over.
Celest comes to a stop, and huffs. “I think I’m about to hurl. Seriously, don’t kick me like that, hurts like hell.” Celest says, but Veloura just smiles and nods. “Alright, I gotta’ go now. See ya’, Celest. It was nice meeting you Sirius.” She says, before walking away.
“Well, we’re finally here. Let’s get going Sirius.” Celest says, before we enter the castle.
-√A-
Demistar lands in front of me, and looks at me. “Hey Demi-two! What’cha need?” She says, as she sits down in front of my nest.
She’s wearing a coat, swimsuit, and sunglasses, topped with a flower in her hair, for a more relaxed beach set.
Demi - “I needed to ask you about something. About Ryleth’s past...”
She drops the smile into a more neutral expression, and looks around, as she places her hands in her coat pockets. “Well… I had to set up a trade route with Ryleth for Neotopia at one point, but it was quickly cut off, with the coming of the new royal family. Otherwise, I can’t think of anything of note to talk about.” She says, obviously hiding all of the other stuff I saw in the vision…
Demi - “Demistar, I… Had a vision, I guess?”
She perks up in surprise- “Really? What did you see?” She says, obviously unsure of what I’ve seen.
Demi - “It was Ryleth, roughly two thousand years ago. You were there, weren’t you…”
She sighs, and grits her teeth. “What did you see? I’m guessing you must have seen the Queen of Ryleth, and her children.” She says, as she just solemnly stares at me…
Demi - “Yes, from the death of the Megas, to the end of the Princess… I saw everything.”
Her back hits the floor, and she frustratedly screams into her hands- She glares at me- “Alright, kid. Before you ask me ANYTHING about Rigelask, you should know to let some ghosts lie.” She says, before opening her eyes to look at me again.
Demi - “Sore subject, I get it. I won’t pry any further than I already have.”
She nods, and sighs in relief. “Thanks. So did you just want confirmation that your vision was true, or is there more you wanted to know?” She asks, after looking in the direction she came from.
Demi - “Right, I have Sirius and Celest on their way up right now. Actually- Wasn’t there that guy around two thousands years ago, with that exact name?”
“Yeah! I mean, I never talked to him, but he knew Queen Regelask very well. I think Sirius Bask was actually named after the guy. He DID raise Pollux after all.” She says, surprising me.
Demi - “Shit, that makes sense! I didn’t think of that!”
She smiles again, and points a finger gun at me. “Yeah! He sadly died a little before Sirius was born, so that’s how Pollux wanted to remember the man who took care of him.” She says, as she reminisces on it all.
“Hey, we’re here!” Celest says, after stepping off the elevator. “Is that Demistar?” Sirius says, approaching us. “Hey kids.” Demistar says, waving at them. Steriya suddenly teleports in, and walks over to me- “Hey, Demi, I did what you said. What should we-” She stops, as she turns to look at the other three people. “Oh, hey- Am I interrupting something?” She asks, but the others shrug.
Demi - “No, you came at the perfect time actually. Alright, so I think you should all know, that I had a vision, it’s what allowed me to find Princess Stallatia, and what allowed Steriya to rescue and return her home.”
Steriya nods, and sits down next to Demistar. “Right. She told us everything, and the criminals are being hunted down as we speak. She’s actually planning to take up martial arts training now, alongside her seismic trident thing training. Currently, I spun it that YOU were the one to save her, Sirius, just as Demitallis told me to.” Steriya says, recapping what happened, as she turns to point at Sirius.
He’s surprised, he takes a glance at me, then looks back at Steriya. “You’re sure? I didn’t do anything, I even hurt you guys. I wouldn’t have minded you if you took the credit yourself. You know?” He says, but she lightly shakes her head, the pieces sliding against each other.
“No, it’s okay. I don’t need to be world famous or anything. I mean, maybe Celest does, but Demi and I don’t. Besides, if you’re going to have any chance at earning Ryleth’s trust. You’re gonna’ need all the help you can get.” He considers it, and nods. “Thank you, then. Once we’ve confirmed and proven my connection to my family, I can accept the Associative Immunity that comes with it. Then maybe someday, I can see about vying for a position of power, until my family is back where it should be.” He says, reminding me that we have our proof right here.
Demi - “Right, Demistar… You were there during the coronation of Formatia. Right? So you should have all the proof we need on hand.”
Everyone looks at her, and stares for a moment, waiting… “I DO… But I shouldn’t… Listen, they’ve probably found everything you need within the castle. So I’m not needed here at all. Oh, and Sirius, I need to have a word with you.” She says, surprising him.
Demitallis - “Are you going to tell him about?...”
Demistar turns to look at me, as we speak over a more private connection.
Demistar - “Yes, he IS her grandson after all, so I think he deserves to know.”
They both stand up, and walk over to one of the pillars, as the wind rushes past us. “What’s she doing with him?” Celest asks, as she watches them walk away.
Demi - “Ah, I shouldn’t say. She’s telling him a little about his ancestry.”
She accepts it, but stares at the two anyways, as Steriya speaks up. “I guess all we have to do now is figure out where that kidnapping bastard went, and kick his ass.” She says, as she folds her arms.
Demi - “You mean have ME kick his ass!”
She rolls her eyes, and shrugs. “Yeah, probably. Stallatia said he’s a member of the low council of Ryleth, he was trying to use its resources and power to supposedly achieve a position in the high councils. Supposedly he was aiming as high as a position of the world council. Dude’s insane or some’n.” She says, giggling at the mention of: ‘World Council’
Demi - “What IS the world council?”
She surprised, but realizes I’m technically only a few months old. “Right! You don’t know about that... The World Council is the most powerful governmental presence in the world. You see, most countries and kingdoms, including the world powers, can’t actually deal with all of the political complexities around them, so they’ll hire and instate a Low Council -Or a Mid Council in terms of countries- To handle all of it for them. Most councils are made up of representatives instated by the ruling body in question, and members chosen by the World Council to represent them. There can be all kinds of reasons a kingdom might instate a low council, like a need of resources, or because they’re refuges of a previous kingdom that had a low council of its own. For whatever reason, they’ll often instate one. Actually- Unsurprisingly, the Queen of Ryleth is considering demolishing the low council of Ryleth, after Stallatia told her everything that happened. So I’m a little worried about what might happen.” She says, surprising Celest and I.
Celest continues to look at her, waiting for her to finish, before speaking up. “Damn Steriya- How do you know all of this?” She asks, making me realize she didn’t know about it either.
Steriya’s eyes widen with realization, and she thinks for a moment- “Right, I learned it from Liyoxis. He said it would be important later on.” Steriya says, as Demistar and Sirius walk back over.
Demistar sits back down next to us, followed by Sirius sitting down next to Celest. “You three talking about the World Council?” Demistar asks, as Celest and Sirius whisper between each other- “Yeah, Demitallis doesn’t know much about the World Council, so I wanted to tell her about it.” Steriya says, surprising Demistar with realization. “That’s right… I keep forgetting how young she is. Seriously Demitallis- What’s is like, up with you?” She says, lying on her belly to look deeper into me.
Demi - “What if instead of an explanation… I gave you an excuse as to why I can’t tell you?”
Demistar sighs, and waves it off. “Whatever. It’s not important anyways. I think you guys have this covered, so I’m going to take my leave. See ya’.” She says, as she stands up, and her clothing suddenly changes- She disappears, just like she was doing in the visions…
Demi - “Ah, didn’t even get to say bye- Anyways, you guys see what you can do about tracking those jerks down, then you can send in the juggernauts to beat’em’up!”
“Hell yeah!” Sirius shouts, as he stands up! “Well, I better get to work then, see ya’ Demi.” Steriya says, as she stands up and teleports away.
Celest grabs Sirius’s arm, and stands up with him. “Yeah, I think it’s about time Sirius and I got going, seeing as there isn’t much left for us to do here. Oh, and I want to know what you and Demistar was talking about.” She says, as she begins to guide him over to the elevator-
Siri - “Thanks Demitallis, I never even knew I had an aunt.”
Demi - “Of course. I wasn’t sure if I should tell you, Demistar knew her the best.”
He nods, and the lift descends.
