Interlude: Brawn Over Brains

Journal

Strength Stat- The strength stat determines the body muscle mass and hardens the muscles allowing for the physical actions like lifting weights, wearing armour, jumping or crouching down. Without strength a living being is unable to function as strength correlates to muscle.

Log 1: After reducing a healthy human adult to a strength stat of 1 the experiment was unable to move any part of its body without help. The subjects were unresponsive due to being unable to function physically.

Log 2: Abducting human new-borns has shown me that 5 strength stats is most common with human children below the age of 3.

Log 4: Determining the strength stat of a group of teenagers between 14 and 18 I can see that their strength averages between 15 and 20. Most however are on the lower end of the scale due to being affected by the New-born Lenience.

Log 7: It took longer to determine the average strength of human male in their prime due to constant attacks on my tower. Humans affected by New-born Lenience at the age of 20 have a score of 30 to 40. Nobles that have been well min maxed have at the age of 20 widely different score with most specialised nobles having 60-80. House Gravestone specialised class Juggernaut requires a minimum 100 strength and willpower. This shows that some bloodlines have a higher limiter helping some stats grow faster and reach higher heights before the growth boost slows down.

Log 21: A strength score of 60 are quite a bit stronger than an average person able to lift 45kg with ease. Str 80- are twice as strong as a normal human, 120- four times as strong, 160- the strength is equal to a full-grown bear, 180- is strength comparable to a troll, 250 is equal to the strength of a ogre being able to bend steel rods.

It seems I was wrong about the assault on my tower has provided many good test subjects for my research. However, getting a bear, troll and ogre for subjects was tiring but at least my minions will have a change in diet human flesh is simply to impure to provide nourishment.

Log 29: I have discovered that the subconscious determine where the muscles will grow as melee class will have stronger muscles in the upper body then their lower body. Classes that rely on agility will have more muscles in their legs to increase speed. Classes that rely on magic will have their strength dispersed thought the body this means their muscles develop at a slower pace, but the body has no physical weakness.

Log 36: A giant attacked the tower almost destroying my third labratory good my minions where able to stop him realeasing a plauge at this time would be inneficient. I was able to salvage his body for experimentation. After raising him I could see that his strength was 350 without any classes boosting his stat. Even when he lost his class bonuses his strength allowed him to lift boulders and destroy my stone walls easily.

Log 47: I have tested every possible use of strength and what is the natural limit even my golems can only have a maximum score of 300. I have gone to many libraries and fellow casters however I came back with nothing. The only other widely documented sapient creature with a limiter higher then 300 is a dragon. Last time I talked to a dragon I went bald and lost my eyebrows, this will mean I will have to experiment on my minions Horace seems to be the best candidate.

Log 51: My experimentations have come to an end I have been unable to boost my experiments or minion’s strength to hire then 400. I have checked through archives and found out that the strongest known being was a Giant Born who supposedly reached 578 his greatest feat of strength was throwing a boulder high enough to strike a flying castle over 500 meters high in the sky bringing it down. I can’t confirm this, but it does appear to be true as his bloodline of Gravestone lives and prospers breeding many powerful warriors with very high strength stats. I will be moving onto vitality and relocating my tower these adventures are really becoming a pest.

Classes

Juggernaut: An extremely powerful class that relies on strength. The class abilities are centred around dealing massive damage and using their high strength to an advantage. Juggernauts are known for taking on large groups of people. Their abilities are all about taking damage and then hitting back with their own strength and their enemies. They have a hard time fighting against classes that cast debuffs due to having no defence against them. Class is not widely popular mostly used by house Gravestone or gained by risk takers who are willing to die facing powerful monsters alone like Trolls, Dire wolves, Carcass Centaurs or Giants for example. Most risk takers are unable to gain the class due to the high risk of death discouraging others.

Requirements: A minimum of 100 in strength and stamina. After meeting stat requirements, the person must survive a near death experience while fighting a much stronger foe.

Pugilist: A class that focuses on hand to hand fighting dealing erratic damage but inflicting minor debuffs to slowly wear down the enemy. Their main debuffs are stunning, dizziness and exhaustion. The class has a very varied ability tree including high damage attacks, speed buffs and temporary health/ energy buffs. This class is normally taken by lower class on the continent unlike the Brawler class no substances like alcohol or drugs are needed to trigger it. This makes it widely popular for sportsmen and honest folk who love the thrill of the fight without the lust for murder.

Requirements: Learn simple fighting techniques and then use them during a mock fight, killing automatically bans you from gaining the class and forces Berserker class on to you.

Battle Master: The classes abilities are based on changing the terrain to suit them by creating defences or breaking enemy defences. The Battle Master class can either be a support class by providing terrain advantages and buffs to their allies by creating walls or traps for their enemies. If the class is used offensively, they can destroy inanimate objects like castle walls easily. Their abilities are not suited for melee or ranged combat being more of a support class. The class is popular among rebel leaders and undead extermination squads who have to face the undead hordes.

Requirements: Lead a successful group of fighters against a larger and better equipped using the land and locals to your advantage.

Shaman: A strange and not well documented class that emphasise of binding spirits for control or purification it is unclear. The class is mysterious and has been mostly forgotten on the continent not counting the northern region. It is extremely dangerous, and its abilities seem to be extremely powerful but risky with their abilities only affecting spirits this forces them to bind them to their service. Spirits are however very powerful and seem duty bound to listen to their commands with some leeway. Shamans can only bind so many spirits however in return they can summon them without casting a spell they also have a separate resource unlike Mana or Energy which is useless without classes like Witch or Druid.

Requirements: Some sort of ritual given by a shaman elder that they need to pass involving a spirit. This trial must be done alone in an area that is haunted or filled with spiritual energy like an obelisk or henge.

Thief: A common job class among criminals with its abilities tailored to thieving, sneaking and pickpocketing. Its varied abilities are orientated to helping it gain experience in useful skill like sleight of hand or lockpicking. The class can also rarely provide abilities like Slash or Smoke Bomb which do not normally appear in non-combat classes. Strangely the class also provides boosts to luck extremely rare for a job class no known reason why it is an exception to the rule. Due to this there are many conspiracies that the class can be merged with a combat this preposterous but there are rumours of organisations who have managed to do just that.

Requirement: The trigger is varied some gaining the skill from stealing a single apple or something more valuable others from escaping the authority figures and some for overhearing valuable information. This class seems to not appear in those who wish to have but to those who are desperate.
