We made it through the "new" first book of the Wayward series! Part 1 of 3 for the Tulimeir Arc is now completely released. Fun fact: the original version of this portion was 75,625 words while this rewritten version ended up 114,902 words long! My tablet starts crashing once I get around the 100k word mark 😅 which was a large motivator for separating the books out more.
I wanted to give a quick thank you to everyone for your support and also do a character "progress point" post to give an overall view of the DATA that has been given in the story so far for the characters' profiles and powersets.
Early on I had decided to only show "blue box text" that detailed abilities or items only once unless something about it changed. So for example, Phoenix's [Night Blade] ability description only appears in book 1 chapter 4 and won't be displayed again until it hits Sapphire Caste and cultivates a new effect with a Spirit Gem in a later book. So as a bit of a compromise to avoid needing to remember exactly which chapter an ability shows up in, I plan to add these profile summaries at the end of each book as an easy reference that won't "clutter" the story itself as much.
I also like doing a poll to sate my curiosity about which characters you dear readers are enjoying the most. I'm only including "recurring characters" which must show up "on screen" in at least three different chapters to be included. You can pick your Top Three! I'd also love to hear about why you picked who you did in the comments below ❤️
Also don't worry, Book 2 will still be starting tomorrow and continue releasing a new chapter every weekday! Please be aware that this may drop down in the future as the "rewrite" portion ends and everything becomes brand new and takes me a bit longer to get done. I'll definitely do a post around that when the time comes, however, so for now enjoy the five chapters per week!
