CHAPTER 140 – 742 PLANS

HIRAYA MISTELTEIN

Our arrival was met with a scene of utter devastation. The Daybreaker Squad stood frozen, their faces portraits of shock and disbelief. Gaeun, Mariko, and Charlotte stifled sobs, their hands clamped over their mouths. Kate, Earvin, and Darlix clenched their jaws, their eyes blazing with a tumultuous mix of rage and grief.

Before us, the monitor displayed the remnants of what once was a mountain range, now obliterated into a vast crater stretching across a thousand square kilometers. The landscape was a desolate gray, the earth itself mourning its ravaged form.

At the crater's heart, two figures stood ominously—Gazelle Lockwood and Eva Nascence. Beside them lay the lifeless bodies of the empress and a headless figure, still clad in the regal trappings of the emperor.

"Gazelle..." My voice cracked with fury. Turning to my squad, I issued the command, my voice a steel blade cutting through the tension, "All personnel, get ready for battle!"

"Roger!" Their responses were sharp, a unified chorus of readiness as they rushed towards the airship's hangar.

I couldn't tear my eyes away from the monitor. Zooming in, Gazelle's face came into focus, his grin sinister, taunting. He stared out, defiant and victorious, and slowly raised his hand. A blast of green light surged forth, striking directly at us.

The impact was immediate. Our ship, the Windwalker, shuddered violently, its left wing engulfed in flames as we began our desperate descent. I gripped the edge of the bridge's desk, bracing for the inevitable crash.

"Activating Vesryn Pulse!" The hangar burst into activity, echoing with the roar of dragons being unleashed.

The Warflame Dragon tore through the skies, Mariko commanding from its head with fierce determination. High above, Earvin rode the Kyubi Dragon, his figure silhouetted against the clouds. Darlix piloted the Panzer Dragon, its massive form hitting the ground with an earth-shaking thud, ready to confront the chaos at the heart of the crater.

As the Windwalker succumbed to its fate, tumbling toward the dense forests below the shattered mountain range, I made my escape. Vaulting from the view deck, I activated my Wings of Light and shot into the sky, distancing myself from the wreckage that exploded into fiery debris on impact.

Below me, Gazelle underwent a monstrous transformation. His form expanded and morphed, reaching a towering fifty meters as he embraced his Alientech Dragon Form's Second Phase. Alien-like, his new form boasted UFO-like wings which unfurled into grotesque spider legs, and atop this mechanical behemoth rode Eva, calm and collected.

"The Daybreaker. The Liberator. The Herrscher. And the Avarice," The Alientech Dragon's voice boomed in our minds, a sinister telepathic whisper that echoed with ominous foreboding. "This might be the first time Dragon Lords were in the same place."

Fury coursing through me, I retorted with vehemence, "We are only here to end you and the war that you've caused, Gazelle Lockwood!" Raising my arm, I signaled the attack. "All units, open fire!"

"Rocket Revolver!" Mariko's command rang clear. Her Warflame Dragon's mechanical arm whirred and transformed, the revolver barrel emerging to house a barrage of missiles. With a thunderous roar, they launched, tearing through the air and devastating the Alientech Dragon’s spider legs on its left side.

"Hellflare Bomb!" Earvin's voice followed, a fierce chant that unleashed chaos. His Kyubi Dragon arched, its nine fluffy tails glowing ominously before catapulting a massive ball of fire. The inferno smashed into the spider legs on the right, engulfing them in a blistering inferno.

"Chaos Mortar Strike!" Darlix's command thundered, his voice full of grim resolve. The Panzer Dragon’s cannons boomed, sending a high-arcing projectile skyward. It descended with deadly precision, striking the Alientech Dragon's UFO-like wings with a cataclysmic impact, fragments scattering across the battlefield.

"Grah! How dare you!" The Alientech Dragon's enraged cry echoed across the battlefield as its artificial limbs crumbled to ruin. In mere minutes, the spider legs and UFO wings that once adorned its monstrous form lay shattered and scattered. With a furious roar, the Alientech Dragon gathered energy, conjuring a galaxy-shaped ball of flames in its gaping maw. "Galaxy Ray!"

I focused my mana, channeling it through my magical circle to unleash my most potent attack. "Trailblaze Arrow!" The bluish flame of my projectile streaked through the air, colliding with the Alientech Dragon's fiery onslaught. In an explosive burst, the Alientech Dragon's mouth erupted, consumed by the force of my arrow.

The impact sent the Alientech Dragon crashing to the ground, its once-imposing black steel armor now a shattered husk. Exhausted and wounded, Gazelle reverted to his humanoid form, his left arm and face mangled, blood oozing from his wounds.

"Gaz!" Eva's anguished cry filled the air. "Gaz, please, get up!"

With the Alientech Dragon incapacitated, I coordinated my fellow Dragon Lords to encircle our foes. Mariko and her Warflame Dragon held the northwest, Earvin and his Kyubi Dragon guarded the northeast, while Darlix and his Mortar Dragon secured the south.

I had meticulously planned this assault, crafting 742 strategies to defeat Gazelle Lockwood, even in his Phase 2. Knowing Eva's abilities as a Fairy Dragon, capable of negating magic effortlessly, I positioned the Panzer Dragon and the Warflame Dragon to guard against her, relying on technology instead of magic.

Though Gazelle and Eva may have been formidable opponents, they stood no chance against the combined might of four Dragon Lords. Their immortality and invincibility shattered in the face of our coordinated assault. Victory was within our grasp.

"Surrender now, Gazelle and Eva. And tell me where Lysander is," I demanded, my gaze unwavering.

"Don't speak as if you've already won, you elven bitch!" Eva's defiant roar reverberated across the battlefield, a testament to their determination to fight on.

At Gazelle's command, a surge of golden light erupted from his hand against his heart. "Activating Vesryn Pulse!" he cried, his voice strained with exertion. As the light enveloped Eva, she began transforming into her mythical Fairy Dragon form. Just as her transformation gathered momentum, I saw my opportunity.

"Now!" My voice echoed decisively across the battlefield.

Responding instantly, the Panzer Dragon unleashed a barrage from its cannons, while the Warflame Dragon's rockets roared towards Eva. The resulting explosion was catastrophic, shredding the emerging form of the Fairy Dragon. Her transformation violently interrupted, Eva's arm, wings, and tail were blasted into the air, her body gruesomely mangled.

Eva collapsed, her left hand and leg torn from her body, blood soaking the earth beneath her. "G-Gaz..." she barely managed to whisper, her voice a ghost of its former strength.

"Eva..." Gazelle's response was a faint murmur, his gaze fixed on her with a mix of pain and desperation.

Their bodies weakened and nearing their end, the two terrorist leaders lay on the ground, their eyes locked in a final, sorrowful exchange. Struggling against their injuries, they reached for each other, fingers interlocking in a tragic union.

"Eva... Gazelle... enough," I said, my voice soft yet firm as I approached them. "Please stay down and die. I don’t want to inflict more brutality. The world has had enough of your stupid antics."

"The only... one... who has... stupid antics... is you, elven oracle," Gazelle managed to say, lifting his head to meet my eyes with a glare filled with dying fury. "We gave everything to you! We gave you second, third, fourth chances! Why won’t you believe that the true enemy lies within humanity!"

"Enough." I shook my head, my expression grim. "Your words do not make sense."

"Then I will show you how wrong you are!"

Gazelle's voice surged with a final burst of strength. His Eye of Deus, a mystical artifact embedded in his skull, glowed ominously. His heart radiated a crimson light that seemed to pulse with dangerous energy.

"Overloading Vesryn Pulse!" Gazelle roared, the ground trembling as he unleashed his final, desperate gambit.
