An entire week passed after the day Claire had saved Clive. Claire had woken up the next day after Jane had continuously healed. Although she was not fully healed yet she had regained her consciousness. After a week had passed Claire was able to stand and walk again.
The only problem was that both Clive and Kan had not woken up yet. When Claire first regained her consciousness she had asked about Clive and Kan’s situation but Jane could only tell her that they were ok but had not woken up yet. That entire day Claire was worried about Clive and Kan’s condition so Doctor Frank decided to bring them into the same room Claire was in.
That entire week Claire could only lie on her bed and watch both Clive and Kan sleep. She watched them with worry in her eyes. She was worried that they may never wake up again. She could only watch and do nothing at all. Her body was still not in a condition where she could move yet.
Sensing Claire’s uneasiness, Jane would always stay by Claire’s side and reassure her. She would stay with Claire and feed her or talk to her about anything that happened in the village. Jane felt the need to protect Claire and keep her away from mentally breaking down. Just like those many years ago when Claire had helped her out of her depression, it was now her turn to help Claire.
“Do you think they’ll ever recover? What if...what if the will never wake up? What should I do Jane? I...I...I don’t know what to do Jane.”
“It’s ok Claire. Don’t worry, the doctor and I can say that the both of them will certainly wake up. It may be many days until they wake up but they will wake up so don’t worry Claire. Instead you should be happy Claire. You should be happy and smile. Clive or Kan wouldn’t want to see you so depressed.”
“But...but what if.”
“There is no if Claire. Believe in them. There’s no need to cry.”
Every day for the past week Jane would come into Claire’s room and hold her in her arms and console her. Claire would cry into Jane’s chest until she fell asleep. Whenever Claire fell asleep Jane wouldn’t leave her though. Jane would stay there an hold onto Claire’s hand because she did not want Claire to feel alone.
“Thank you Jane.”
As Claire slept she thanked Jane in her sleep.
‘You’re like a baby right now Claire. I hope I can make you smile again. The look in your eyes are too painful for me to look at. When will you wake up Clive, Kan.’
……
“Thank you for taking care of me for the past week Jane.”
“It’s ok Claire, it was just like taking care of a big cute baby.”
“Hahaha, sorry Jane.”
“Now open wide. Aaa”
“Stop treating me like a baby, Jane.”
They both laughed as they had gone through there small skit as a mother and a baby. Although Claire resisted being fed by Jane she still accepted the spoon full of food.
“Do you want to try walking today Claire.”

“Yeah, thank you Jane.”
Claire’s body had been frozen all over the place and she had rested in bed for an entire week so her body was still not back to normal. Jane lifted Claire off of the bed and as she did so, she made sure to put her hands on parts where Claire wouldn’t want to be touched. Claire did not notice Jane’s hands caressing her body though. Claire had just thought that it was normal for patients to be picked up this way because the day before, Jane had done the exact thing.
“Ok, Claire now try walking forwards.”
“Yeah, I got it. It’s still kind of hard to walk but I can walk.”
“Now come back to mommy, Claire. Come to mommy and i’ll give you a reward kiss.”
“Stop it Jane and I do not want that kiss either.”
“Hehe, sorry Claire. This is probably the only time in my life I am able to tease you like this. Clive was certainly right when he said that when you are embarrassed, you are the cutest thing ever.”
Hearing Jane flatter her like that, Claire blushed and her face turned red. In her heart Claire swore that she would get Jane back for this but the only thing she could do now was walk towards Jane.
“Good job Claire.”
“Yeah, thanks. It was pretty tiring walking. I guess being frozen to death isn’t good for your body, huh.”
“Yep, I guess not.”
Both Jane and Claire was having a good time being in each other’s company. They were good friends and no matter what they did together, they had fun doing it.
“AAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!”
“What?!”
“Clive!?”
Claire and Jane ran towards Clive’s bed. He had woken up but now he was screaming hysterically. It was like he had just woken up from a nightmare and was in shock.
“Doctor! Doctor Frank! Clive has woken up.”
“Clive, Clive, Clive, Clive, oh Clive you’re awake.”
“What’s the situation Jane. Is Clive in pain again.”
The doctor had immediately rushed into the room with his medicine bag but what he saw made him feel relieved. Claire was now crying within Clive’s embrace.
“Claire? Claire? Wait, where is Kan!? Is he ok Claire? Is Kan ok?”
“Yeah. Yeah. He is ok Clive. He just hasn’t woken up yet. Why do you make me worry so much Clive.”
After telling Clive that Kan was ok, Claire kissed him. Not letting him gather his thoughts at all she furiously kissed. She had thought that Clive may not wake up ever again so she kissed him to make sure he was really there.
“Mmgh...wait Claire. Mmmgh...wait let me. Mmmgh...Claire.”
Clive had initially tried to put a struggle but eventually he could only moan out Claire’s name. Clive’s entire face was blushed red and this was the first time the doctor and Jane had ever seen Clive so meek and embarrassed. He was usually playful and confident but right now he was like a tiny mouse being pinned down by a tiger.
“Yeah, that’s my Clive. I haven’t seen this face in so long. You better promise me you won’t make me so worried ever again.”
“Haah...haah...o...ok Claire.”
After being pinned down and attacked by Claire, Clive could only shyly answer Claire. The doctor and Jane could only watch in shock as Clive was attacked.
“*Cough *Cough. Excuse me Claire, can I please check up on Clive’s condition.”
“Oh yes doctor, go ahead.”
Claire had gotten off of Clive and answered the doctor in her normal tone of voice. It was like what she did had never happened at all.
“Hmm. It seems Clive is completely healed up and he may be even stronger now.”
“*Cough *Cough. Doctor is Kan ok. Did the medicine work?”
“Yeah there’s nothing for you to worry about. The medicine has indeed worked but the only problem is that we don’t know why he is still not waking up. His body is entirely fine but he still hasn’t woken up. The only thing that I can say is that his body probably went through to much shock so now it is still recuperating because it still believes there is still poison in his body.”
“Ok thank you doctor. Thank you too Jane.”
