Jane and the Doctor looked at Kan in worry after giving him the medicine. The medicine was able to heal him up to a certain extent but there is always a chance it fails so it was up to Kan’s willpower to resist the poison. Claire could only hold Kan’s hand with sadness in her eyes. She could do nothing for her child right now. While they watched over Kan a loud crash could be heard from another room.
“Doctor Frank we a have an emergency.”
“What is it?”
“Clive’s body is spasming extremely violently. Rob was already thrown against the wall.”
“Ok let’s go Jane, our job’s not over yet.”
Jane and the Doctor ran towards Clive’s room and what they saw was horrible. Rob had already been thrown through a wall and Clive’s body was all bloodied up. The other men were also injured from Clive.
“You ladies can you please go call on the other two combat locksmiths and a regular locksmith and tell him to bring chains.”
Claudia, Leia, and Eliza had been able to do anything during this whole ordeal so they were just standing around. Hearing that they could help, they all ran out to call on the blacksmiths.
“Ranjer are you even using your full strength to hold him down.”
“I am Frank. You think I can easily hold down Clive. He has monstrous strength.”
Right now Richard, Dylan, and the mayor was holding Clive down. Richard and Dylan were struggling the most right now because they were not combat locksmiths and for the mayor although he was a combat locksmith his potential was only 25%. Against Clive’s out of control body they could barely hold him down.
“Jane i’ll help hold him down so use your healing on Clive to calm his body down.”
Doctor Frank immediately took the spot Rob was initially holding down and Jane walked up towards him. She put her hands on his stomach and started to heal him but what they all didn’t expect was that Clive’s body had a negative reaction to the healing. Jane’s healing could heal any bodily wounds so it should work on Clive and it did. The only problem they did not expect was that as soon as Jane healed him, his muscles would once again break down.
“Jane stop healing him. If you keep healing him, we won’t be able to hold him down. We have to wait for the other combat locksmiths.”
A few minutes passed and all they could do was hold Clive down. After being awakened from the shock of Kan being poisoned, Claire walked towards Clive’s room. What she saw made her drop to her knees and cry hysterically. Clive’s body was breaking down and Kan was poisoned. The two people who mattered the most in the world to her were both upon death’s doors and she couldn’t do anything. Her mind could not take it anymore. All she did was sat there and cried and cried.

Hearing Claire’s cries everyone else in the room also felt pained. They could not imagine the grief Claire was going through right now. If they were in her situation and all of their loved ones were dying, they could not handle that situation but this was a reality for Claire. Her wailing and crying made everyone else more determined to save both Clive and Kan.
“Doctor Frank we brought them.”
“Ok, Carl and Stan help us hold Clive down. Mr. Don please lock Clive down in those chains as we hold him down.”
The three men who just entered immediately got to work and wrapped Clive within the chains. A regular locksmith may not seem like much in front of a combat locksmith or a mage locksmith but they were strong in their own right. The chains that are locking Clive down was some of Don’s strongest chains and as soon as he put on the lock it will be able to even hold Clive down. Although there was immense strain on the chains and lock, it was not going to break anytime soon.
“From what I can see of Clive’s strength, my chains will be able to hold him down for a week at most.”
While everyone was tying Clive down, Claudia, Leia, and Eliza were trying to soothe Claire’s breaking heart. All they could do was hold Claire in their embrace and allow her to cry her heart out.
“Doctor is there anything we can do to save Clive. My healing powers aren’t working but there must be some other way.”
“There is one way to save Clive and that is to find the Blue Heart grass. It is an extremely rare plant that can only be found on the highest peaks of a mountain. I had once used this to save Ranjer’s life when he had also gone through backlash like this. The problem is that I am unsure if even that plant will save Clive’s life. Ranjer’s backlash back then wasn’t as horrible as this was.”
“I’ll go find it then Doctor. I can’t bare to see Claire’s life be ruined and destroyed like this.”
“You idiot! What can you do? I just told you that the plant could only be found on the highest peaks of mountains. What can you do to protect yourself. You’re just a little girl.”
“But...but I have to try Doctor.”
“It’s ok Jane, i’ll go find it.”
Hearing the talk about how her husband could be saved, Claire had come back to clarity. She had heard about their talk and was determined to find the plant. A fire of obsession burned in her eyes. No matter what, Claire had already determined that she will find the plant.
“Where can I go find it Doctor?”
“You can probably find it on the mountains where the road leads to the capital.”
The doctor did not refuse to answer Claire at all. He saw the glint in her eyes. She was determined to do whatever it meant to get that plant even if it meant having to kill someone.
“Claire you have at least 7 days to find the plant. If you do not find it by then it is a guaranteed that Clive Lock will die. Without Jane’s healing powers it would take only 3 days for Clive to die but if Jane continuously healed his degrading body then you are given 7 days.”
“Thank you doctor and everyone else.”
Claire said her thanks and walked out of the door. When she was outside it was still the middle of the night. All the commotion that happened this night had only been about an hour. Claire then took off towards the skies. What Claire was doing was locking down the air where she steps so a platform is made so she could stand. If Claire had to walk on the ground she would have to go through many detours to reach the mountains so it would take her even longer to get their. Claire had decided to go over all those obstacles.
This was the first time Claire had ever flown through the air. In the past she had once experimented with the concept of locking down the air to fly but it had failed. Now in a time of emergency she had no time to fail so she had learned to fly. With her monstrous potential as a mage locksmith it was not difficult for her to adjust the speed at which she flew through the air.
