Sun and I made sure Rahun Borrel wouldn’t mind if we took some time during our stable duties for me to level. He didn’t mind at all, so long as we ended up getting all our tasks complete. Thus at noon, Sun, Swagger, and I were relaxed near one of the stable fences. Swagger was laying down allowing me to lean my bare back against his, and Sun had made their own chair. We were in the shade provided by one of the stables.
S: This is so interesting. It is my first opportunity to be with a friend as they level.
“I know the feeling. I was with Sun as they leveled. You don’ see much, but you still feel like you have a share of what they want to achieve.”

S: I pretend I’m Sun and use their words to help me imagine what I would want to say if I were them.

“Do either of you have any last minute advice? I know I can talk to you while I’m leveling, but what do you think I should know as I start?”
S: I have none. My two Mindsmith skills were granted by gods, and they just appeared when I achieved Level 12.

When they shook me, I didn’t bother checking the party window to see what they had been saying. After checking my stats, “Okay, I’ve built up 15 Ki. That should be enough.
As I reached over to touch Sun to test my Mindsmith skills, Swagger said:
S: Congratulations, Ferret. Without the limitations Norrus had, you should advance quicker in the first week than he did.
“Holy bear! I just heard you in my mind, exactly what you typed. Back-to-back must count as touch.”
With my hand on Sun’s leg, I told them, “Now you say something.”

I laughed. “You just corrected my grammar but thought it was a minor mistake. Thank you. When I am excited, I sometimes forget full sentences and stuff.”
“Hey, both of you try talking to me at once. I want to see if I can read both of you at the same time. Please keep talkin’ until I say stop.”
S: Until you two got here it was a slow day. I helped Rahun gather the horses from the original stable for grooming, then I started looking forward to you two being here.

This time I heard Sun mentally, and after a couple seconds the silly horse was a smartass.
S: ‘Something else, Swagger.’ And you should read your skill descriptions.
“Yeah, that’s it. I can only mentally read one of you at once, and it is the one who starts. I could see what Swagger said in the party window, though. Sun, I don’t know when we will get to explore a dungeon, and Swagger, that’s a good idea. I’ll read them aloud.”
“Wow, maybe when I get Share Mind, I’ll be able to show people stuff like descriptions mentally. Anyway:”
