After the match, an increasing number of people flocked to the scene. Despite numerous attempts to challenge him, he left them all in the dust with his crushing defeats. However, Yuuki was growing increasingly bored with the lack of formidable opponents, as even the top-ranked players in the game couldn't stand up to his skills. He passed the time gaming until late at night, only taking a break to eat.
As the game capsule's lid slowly opened, Yuuki emerged from within, ready for a much-needed bathroom break. The moonlight cast an ethereal glow on his face as he turned towards the bathroom door connected to his room. "Ugh, that can be so disorienting at times," he grumbled as he stumbled slightly while walking.
Yuuki made his way towards the bathroom door and closed it behind him to tend to his personal needs. A few moments later, he emerged and continued on his path back to the game capsule. This routine continued throughout the night, as the game capsule allowed him to transfer his consciousness into the virtual world while his physical body rested.
Upon exiting the game capsule in the morning, Yuuki felt invigorated and full of energy. He navigated his way through the cluttered room and approached his closet, carefully selecting his uniform for the day. When he had chosen his attire, he noted with satisfaction that it was neatly pressed and perfectly tidy.
"Wow, Miri really did an excellent job," he remarked to himself, admiring the neatly arranged clothes that he had gathered before heading into the shower. Before entering the bathroom, he called out to his maid, "Miri, please prepare my breakfast!"
After a refreshing shower, he emerged looking neat and well-groomed. He quickly devoured the delicious meal that Miri had prepared for him and called out as he left, "I'm leaving now!"
"See you later!" the maid replied cheerfully, returning to her daily tasks.
Their home was a luxurious two-room apartment in an equally opulent building. He descended the elevator to the first floor and walked towards the gate. Upon arrival, he tapped his key card, which promptly opened the door for him to exit.
Kawamoto High, often referred to as K High by its students, was a nearby public school, making it unnecessary for him to go through the trouble of arranging transportation. Since the vacation after the advancement ceremony, he had been spending most of his time immersed in gaming and hadn't ventured outside as much. As a result, he was becoming increasingly unfamiliar with the area, and it had been quite some time since he had even touched grass.
Due to his intense focus on gaming, he had few reasons to leave the house other than school. Apart from Yohan, he had no real friends to speak of. However, since Yohan's grandfather had been diagnosed with dementia, the two had stopped hanging out as frequently, although they remained in contact. They would most likely reconnect in person once they were back in school.
Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.
As he walked down the street, he noticed two other students on the opposite side of the road, who were likely in the same grade or possibly freshmen.
"Hey, wait for me! Mister Traffic light!" he heard one of them shout as he began sprinting towards the intersection. Suddenly, a car sped past behind him without stopping, hurtling towards the road where the other student was running. Yuuki's heart raced as he watched, helpless to do anything except possibly witness a terrible accident. Fortunately, the other student was saved at the last moment as the other grabbed him by the collar, pulling him back just inches away from the car.
"That was way too close," Yuuki breathed a sigh of relief.
He continued walking and eventually arrived at the school. At the entrance, various clubs were recruiting students from freshmen to seniors.
"Join the Basketball Club!"
"Chess Club over here!"
"Hey, are you an otaku? Join our Otaku Club!"
And many more like that.
As he walked through the sea of people, one of the recruiters suddenly grabbed his shoulder like a leech. Irritated, he turned around and saw the recruiter smiling joyfully. "Hey there, junior, why don't you join our video game club?"
"No thanks, I'm not interested," he replied before swiftly maneuvering through the crowd to avoid any more recruiters.
That guy's kinda creepy, I better get out of here, where the hell is the entrance ceremony held. he thought to himself.
Suddenly, a familiar voice called out to him, "Yuuki? Hey, you finally decided to come out of your cave!"
Yuuki knew exactly who it was even before he turned around. Standing before him was his best friend Yohan, a charming and handsome guy who never seemed to have any trouble with the ladies.
Although Yuuki wasn't unattractive himself, he had a tendency to act eccentric due to his passion for gaming, which tended to put off most girls. But he didn't care much about that, since he wasn't really interested in having a girlfriend at the moment.
"Yo! It's been a few weeks since we last met."
"Yeah, you totally didn't play until the last day before the game's end." Yuuki said with a disappointed face.
"Sorry 'bout that, I told you I don't need to play until the last day of that."
"Yeah, yeah, whatever. So, where the hell is the ceremony area?" Yuuki asked.
"Ah, it's over there, come with me."
The two friends walked together towards the ceremony area, catching up on what they missed during the break.
"So, how is grandpa doing? Is there anything wrong with him? Do you need any financial help?" Yuuki asked with concern.
Yohan shook his head and replied, "Nah, he's doing well actually. He's getting better day by day. We recently got an experimental drug and its effects are insane! The doctor said that grandpa might even recover in a year and a half or less if the drug's effects continue to be really good."
"You sure about that?" Yuuki asked, still not fully convinced.
"Yes, I'm sure. Don't worry 'bout me," Yohan assured him.
After their conversation, they arrived at the entrance ceremony and everything went smoothly from then on.
