In her palace, Jean checked her watch for the fourth time. A normal recruit shouldn’t approach a potentially fatal situation with a smile. No. She should be worried, scared, stressed, and perhaps even giving up. Jean did that by dramatically increasing the frequency she drank as she got closer and closer to the date. The redder eyes she managed to create helped as well.
“Calm down. You will be fine. Just stick with the others and you’ll be safe.” Sara had been called over by a stressed out Jean, and, looking at the exhausted blonde, she did her best to make Jean feel more confident. “And stop drinking!” She suddenly snapped and took away a bottle Jean was holding and smashed it on the ground, shattering it. “Getting drunk can’t save your life! Keeping your mind clear can!”
“Wait, others?” Jean suddenly realized her last mission was a solo mission. “There are more than one voyager in a mission?”
“Most of the times, yeah.” Sara nodded.
“Interesting.” Jean’s thoughtfulness was quickly covered by her gradually heavier breath. She looked down on her watch and realized the timer was about to reach 0. “Anyways, wish me luck.” She said desperately as she stood up.
“Good luck.” Sara said as Jean’s figure disappeared in a light beam. As the light beam disappeared, her smile immediately turned into a blank face. As powerful as she was, she still couldn’t do anything about the light beam that bought voyagers in and out of dimensions. If she was a normal voyager she wouldn’t mind, but as a lurker...Completely taking her mind off the girl she was just comforting and caring about, Sara returned to her room and continued to absorb red crystals.

In a armored moving vehicle, five people simultaneously opened their eyes. Three male. Two female.
All of them wore black suits. All of them had an automatic rifle by their arms. A pistol was strapped to their sides. Four grenades hanged on their black jackets. Two daggers laid in their belts. Dozens of ammo clips were stuck in their bags. This was just the standard weapons.
The first was a blonde. The second she opened her eyes a cold look covered her beautiful blue eyes, but this look was immediately replaced with a nice innocent gaze. She silently wiped her finger on her wrist and took out another pistol and several more grenades and attached them to her suit.
The second was a man with a large beard. A giant Gatling machine gun appeared in his hands, adding to his standard arsenal. The machine gun was enormous, but the man lifted it with just his arms. Judging from the casual look he wasn’t even having any trouble doing that.
The third was an Asian woman with dark hair. Just like the man, she had something to add to just her normal weapons. A sniper rifle almost as tall as she was appeared in her right hand. She looked around vigilantly. Her muscle tensed up for a second, but it soon relaxed when she realized she was safe.
As their weapons were in place, all three tapped their watch and stared forward blankly. If someone else was looking at them they would realize the area before the three people were empty. Only the three themselves knew what they were after.

The two other were not as calm and casual as the first three. Both were young men at their twenties, and both closed their eyes almost the moment they opened them. Their tight lips showed that they were quite troubled inside.
The first man with the machine gun was the first to recover. “Three voyagers. Two recruits. This is going to be a tough one.” His voice was deep as he scanned the surrounding comrades, unsatisfied at what he saw. “We’ll be here for quite a while, so I say we come to know each other. Call me Ivan. I have completed two missions.” He patted his weapon heavily. “I’ve got enhanced strength.”
“Xia. Two missions. Sniper.” The Asian girl said quietly and concisely.
“Jean. Completed one mission. No real enhancement.” Jean replied, lying low.
Ivan didn’t bother to ask who the two recruits were. He didn’t really care. “I believe you have seen the mission and have received memory about this world. We will be fighting the Umbrella Corporation, the main villain of this dimension. From the information we got this is going to be pretty tough. Umbrella is extremely powerful. At one point it even launched a nuclear missile at the exact city we are standing on. But as long as we work together and move carefully we can complete this mission and return to the Hub alive.”
“Excuse me, what is happening?” One of the recruits cut Ivan off with a shaky voice.
“You propose an alliance?” Xia stated with a slight Asian accent, ignoring the recruit.
“I propose a plan and a central command. We need to come up with a plan and execute it carefully.” Ivan said, slightly frustrated. “I don’t know about you, but the last two missions I went through there was an established good side. All I had to do was stick with the good guys, and I still died once. Here...I can’t even remember how many times Alice was captured by Umbrella. She would have been dead a thousand times if she wasn’t protected by plot armor. Everyone around her tend to die. There is no way we can stick with her and win. If we want to live through this, we will need a plan.” He seemed frustrated. Neither his bearded face nor his giant weapon nor his physical upgrade seemed to bring him confidence.
“Ah...mister?” The recruit continued. “What is going on?”
“What the f**k is wrong with you? You know what the f**k is going on!” Ivan suddenly snapped. “So shut the f**k up!” He tried to cover it up, but he was not just frustrated. He was frightened. Like he said, he had already used up his chance of being pulled back to the Hub when receiving a fatal hit. If he was to die here, this would be the end. No one, espeically not him, wanted to die. Ivan knew better than to unleash this fear on his fellow voyagers, but lashing out on a few defenseless recruits was not exactly a problem. No voyager would fight him on this and risk making a critical fighter an enemy, and there was nothing the recruits themselves could do about being bullied. This was the most he could do.
The vehicle was quiet for a few seconds. The two recruits sat back in a mixture of shock, anger, and fear. Xia didn’t say anything, and Ivan took the opportunity to calm himself. Having passed two missions already, he knew being emotional would only make things worse.
“I think a plan can wait.” Jean broke the ice. The next moment the door of the vehicle snapped open.
The game was on.
