Amon created the Hybrids by combining the essence of the zerg and the protoss, giving the weapons both powerful psi power and strong physical power. With incredible life and powerful psionic abilities, one single hybrid could obliterate a terran army. There were different type of hybrids, just like there were different types of terran units. Hybrid reavers were like the marines in the terran forces. They used their claws to do melee damage to their opponents and had armor to keep them alive long enough to do mass damage.
And yet one of the foot soldiers destroyed a heavily protected Dominion base and a well armed special ops team. No wonder Jean was threatened by Amon despite her initial successes. She could have the entire Dominion behind her back and still lose to the Golden Armada in space and hundreds of Hybrids on the ground.
Jean knew she needed to develop effective countermeasures, and the idea was just strengthened as she looked at the giant blue beast before her.
The reaver’s eyes radiated blue energy. Its mouth was packed with countless teeth. Four tentacles extended out of his back. Two giant claws were in front. They were its main weapons and could tear through anything. Even the plasma shield couldn’t stand against the raw strength of the hybrid.
Jean silently created a file by the name of Hybrid reaver. She gave out an order, and a marine walked up and fired at the reaver with its gauss rifles. The bullets, capable of penetrating meters of steel, bounced off the reaver’s skin. “Advance.” Jean ordered coldly. The Warden marine walked up in offering, and was ripped apart with a single swipe. Jean silently took down a few lines of notes in her drive and motioned for the experiment to continue.
A marauder came up. Its punisher grenade smashed into the hybrid, and practically nothing happened. The concussive shell had no effect on the hybrid as it charged up at the marauder. The marauder walked up and lead the hybrid away. However, even though the marauder was faster than average marauders, it was still caught up and torn open. The heavier CMC armor fell apart just like the armor of marines.
A ghost launched an emp round on the reaver, and it had surprising effect as the reaver collapsed for just a second. But a second later it stood up, completely healthy and in combat mode. The emp could only stop it for less than a second. The ghost, for the purpose of experimenting, fired a lock on toward the hybrid. The ancient weapon from the brood war was returned to the ghost arsenal after Jean realized how effective they were against protoss and terran mechanical units.
Obviously the lock on did no damage. The hybrid charged at the ghost, who backed off and kept a distance. The reaver only had melee attack, which made it semi vulnerable to kiting. The ghost fired at every part of the hybrid’s body, looking for a weakness, but there wasn’t any. Reasonable. Even the zerg knew to randomly position the organs of its units to prevent any weakness. There was no reason for Amon to not do so. Finally the ghost entered cloaking mode and stopped, and was instantly crushed by one decisively swipe of the hybrid. Jean took down more notes as the hybrid dismantled the AI’s armor. The hybrids could detect cloaked units.
A goliath fired its auto cannons at the reaver. The beast, whose attention was shifting to Jean for a brief moment, turned around and charged at the machine. Jean noticed the goliath did some damage to the reaver, but it was not enough to make a difference. The autocannons pierced the skin but couldn’t really break through. The goliath survived 2 strikes due to its extra armor.

A siege tank in siege mode fired at the reaver. The beast was obviously damaged as it backed off from the impact, struggling to straighten his body. The reaver’s giant form was an obvious target and the creature suffered the full impact. The reaver charged toward the siege tank and crushed it with its claws. This time, however, the reaver was actually damaged and had to take some time to mend. Jean knew a planned system of siege tanks and goliaths could stop the reaver and maybe even kill it. The beast was not as invincible as it appeared, but Jean’s worry only grew. She needed tier 2 terran units to fight a single tier 1 hybrid. What would she need to fight more powerful hybrids?
Now that Jean had discovered the true strength of the hybrid reaver, the girl saw no point to remain in danger. She casually ordered most of the Warden units to perform a suicidal charge on the reaver to cover her escape. As soon as she was back on the Hyperion, the ship fired a round of Yamato Cannon on the facility. The two battlecruisers continued raining down on the half dead hybrid until scans showed the hybrid was no more.
Jean gave one last look of the ruins before warping away. She got what she came for.
----------------------------------------
“The space platform is down. No evidence is left.” Jean turned off the comm to the terran emperor. She laid back in her seat and touched her lips, her chip turning with lightning speed.
Across the computer screen before the girl were dozens of files on different terran weaponry. The peak of the Dominion’s technology, one of the most well kept secrets in the Dominion, was listed there like they were choices of a barbecue. Jean had no mental burden in hacking her ally.
“Send data of the newest designs of thors, banshees, liberators, and battlecruisers to Liam and order him to speed up expanding. I need more than 2 battlecruisers to win a war.” Jean ordered silently. She connected to Liam’s AI Assistant and realized the man just took over the majority of Deadman’s port through assassinations and bribery. Those that couldn’t be bought over were involved in unfortunate accidents that left them either dead or too wounded to stay in charge.
Jean closed her eyes and touched the handle to her plasma blade and flipped it around while deep in thought. She considered how she could weaken Amon even more. Now might be the golden period to strike as the golden armada, no pun intended, and the death fleet weren’t controlled by Amon. As insignificant as they appeared in the original history, the golden armada was one of the top fleets in the sector. Eventually Amon would take over the two most feared fleets possible and ravage the galaxy to destroy all life forms. As for now, the only real enemies she had to face were the tal’darim and a portion of the Moebius Foundation forces.
Suddenly her eyes snapped open. The Moebius Foundation was lead by one Doctor Narud, a xel’naga that served Amon and had been plotting his revival from the very start. Granted, a xel’naga wasn’t a soft target, but the sooner she could send him back to the void the easier her life would be in the future.
“Prepare a jump to Tyrador III.” Jean realized he might not be sufficient. Tyrador III was the headquarter of Moebius Foundation and where Narud would be. It would be defended by large groups of mercenaries, but they weren’t the only one with mercenaries.“Send a request to Mengsk for backup. Dispatch a squad of mercenary forces and order them to do everything I say.” Jean silently ordered, and she knew the order would be passed down. Maybe Jean could win the battle with Warden forces, but AIs were valuable and modifying mech weapons to fit AIs were expensive. Jean needed a plan to minimize the losses.
