Jean and her men left the bar and started returning to their ship after the explosion and the conversation with a certain Liam Holden.
Jean had been doing everything she could to prevent the darkness. Her enemies were menacing. Amon was practically a god. He would eventually control the golden armada, the death fleet, a fraction of the feral zerg, and the mercenaries of the Moebius Foundation, and thus combine the might of all three races.
Jean intended on crippling those forces as much as possible. By making connection with ascendant Nyon, Jean established a possibility of winning over the death fleet as long as she made Nyon the Highlord. Now, by making a new leader to unite the mercenaries of deadman’s port, Jean might be able to weaken the Moebius Foundation and decrease the amount of elite terran units in Amon’s forces. Of course, Liam needed to be made as the leader of all the mercenaries for that to happen, but Jean was confident she could manage a few mercenaries. After all, she did just took out one of the strongest forces in the port with some hacking and a nuke.
Now that her work here in the port was done, Jean wanted to return to the ships. She left another AI with Liam to aid him, just like what she did with ascendant Nyon.

“What happened back in the port?” Raynor met Jean as soon as she returned. “Adjudent told me a nuke went off in Orlans’ place. Did you do it?” He asked.
“No. Of course not.” Jean replied, looking completely honest. “I was at a local bar at that time.”
“Good.” Raynor seemed fully of relief. “I know you’re not a butcher that will nuke a space platform with thousands aboard. I can’t image what kind of monster is behind this. Who can possibly have the power do this?” He seemed shocked.
Jean frowned. “Why are you so affected by the death of thousands of mercenaries? I don’t recall Orlans being our ally.” She didn’t care about those mercenaries, but she needed to be mindful of the opinion of Jim Raynor. The majority of the Raiders still answer to the legend.
“True.” Raynor exclaimed as he looked out the window at the debris. “Still, even mercenaries are human beings. It is one thing to kill an enemy in battle, it is another to slaughter several thousands out of combat. This is just too much.”
“Where’s Horner?” Jean changed the topic.
“Ummm.” Raynor hesitated and looked away. The man seemed slightly embarrassed. “Well, the thing is we needed to buy supplies at the lowest price possible, so….”
“So you sent Horner to Mira Han.” Jean completed the sentence for him. “It’s actually pretty wise.” She concluded.
“I love your sarcasm.” Raynor smiled, assuming it was a joke. “We’ll likely be here for a few more hours. Speaking of,” He looked at Jean. “what do you think of the Beetle.”
“It is a Gorgon battlecruiser. Extremely powerful.” Jean replied. “Why?”
“Any interest in commanding the ship?” Raynor invited.
“It’s my pleasure, but I am not the best at commanding ships.” Jean replied. “Not that it’s going to be a problem.”
Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.
“Good. Do your best to get the cruiser into a state capable of battle.” Raynor’s eyes radiated confidence. “It’s time to show the world who the emperor truly is.”
----------------------------------------
A few hours later, Jean was onboard the Beetle. The ship was almost empty, except for her and the wolfpack units that acted as her guard. There were no crew members. The entire ship was programmed by computer AIs Jean coded.
Jean was doing exercises in the bridge with a dumbbell. The exercise methods stayed the same even in the future. She wore sports clothing that covered only a certain part of her body and allowed full movement. The tight clothing emphasized her beautiful curves, not that there was anyone around to watch.
In previous combats Jean realized her body was too slow to follow up with her computer’s tactics. Using stimulants was a good way to boost the strength and speed of her body, but it was extremely harmful to her health and would kill her if she used too much of them. She needed a naturally strong body to support her skills in combat.
Suddenly, Jean rested the dumbbell on the ground. The metal door opened, but no one walked in.
“Nova Terra.” Jean suddenly smiled. “Mengsk must value the deal very much to send her best operative here as a messenger.” She looked at an empty space. Nothing happened. “You do realize I know where you are, right? Right next to the table.”
The empty space before Jean twisted, and a second later a woman in female ghost suit appeared out of nowhere. She carried a long canister rifle that was improved from that of normal ghosts. A long list of special equipements were along her belt. Her tight hostile environment suit allowed her to maximize her psi power, cloak, and move without any obstacles.
“I am wondering what will happen if instead of making a deal with you, I just kill you right now?” Nova said in a soft voice that was somewhat cute, but if someone thought the female was a soft teenage girl then he or she would be very dead very soon. The ghost had killed countless without mercy. “Without your help, that fugitive will no longer pose any threat.”
Jean’s smile didn’t decline as she walked to the side and grabbed a towel. “I am merely a sidekick. Raynor will continue to fight the Dominion if I die, and, trust me. If I get assassinated by a ghost, then you’ll have no chance of slipping onto the Hyperion and sniping Raynor. It’s much smarter to work with me. Now, shall we get to the deal?”
“Agreed.” Nova replied coldly. Jean admired her coldness. She liked to talk to smart people. It was more efficient. The ghost pulled out an untraceable transmitter. She pressed something, and Mengsk’s image appeared on the hologram.
“Hello, little girl.” Mengsk said in a deep voice. “So you’re the one that hijacked one of my Gorgons and killed my men. You told me you wanted to talk to me. What do you want?”
“I want to make a deal with you.” Jean replied and covered herself in the large towel. She had just worked out, and it wasn’t like she could take a shower. She’s freezing. She silently ordered the AI to turn up the temperature of the bridge. “In a few years a wave of darkness is going to sweep the entire sector. This darkness is stronger than the protoss and the zerg combined and will destroy every life it can find. I want to kill it once and for all and I want your help in doing so.”
Mengsk smirked viciously. “And why should I believe you?”
“Good point. I have proof.” Jean closed her eyes for a second, and on the other end of the communication Mengsk saw some data entering his private computer.
“What the hell?” Mengsk groaned. His computer was supposed to be secure, but this random girl from his enemies’ side just hacked it in the blink of an eye. Who the hell is she? How is this possible? It takes longer than the blink of an eye for the computer transmission signal to go from Deadman’s port to Korhal. A sense of fear appeared in his heart.
Jean saw the effect. She obviously didn’t hack the emperor’s pc in less than a second. Rather, she had breached it a few hours ago and had a tough time doing so. The computer was well protected. She just pretended to be stronger than she is to make Mengsk fear her power. For someone like Mengsk only absolute strength can make him yield, and Jean’s seemingly invulnerable effect was certainly menacing. To Mengsk, Jean could commandeer all of his tactical missiles with the blink of an eye and send them crashing onto his palace. In reality she could do no such thing.
She was still human.
