The Warden fleet exited warp space above Endion. Most of the ships disappeared, but one of them lowered and landed on the planet and another stayed in orbit.
In the bridge of the battlecruiser in orbit, two girls were on the ground, naked.
Nova was the first to break away from the more than close contact. “Are you sure you don’t need to be down there?” As a ghost observing the surrounding was an instinct. Even in a more than relaxed situation like this she realized the fleet was at Endion.
Jean giggled. It was a voice Nova found entertaining. It sounded like it was coming out of a canary. The agent looked at the well carved expression of the girl sweetly. She had never felt so good before in her life. Seeing the girl beside her made her...happy. In her past all she knew about were missions. Infiltration. Assassination. That was all she knew about. She had been in a relationship with others before, but she wasn’t this happy. Before she had to worry about doing things against her own will. Not anymore. Nova swore to protect the girl beside her with her life.
For now this girl was running her fingers through Nova’s blonde hair. “Don’t you worry. I made sure we don’t need to be down on the ground during the process. AI estimated at least an hour until the Megalith disables the stasis lock.” She whispered. “Until then…”
Nova smiled and kissed Jean again. The two remained close for a few minutes before breaking away. Both breathed heavily.
“I feel like I should know more about you.” Nova stared into the ceiling. “I mean I know about how you got here and what your mission is, but that’s it.”
Jean tapped an area below her chest, attracting Nova’s attention. A part of the attention was to the part above, but most was to what was below that. It was a scar. From her experience the ghost knew the scar came from a psi blade. She had used this on countless enemies, but this familiar wound made her heart sting. She saw the wound was deep, and she imagined what type of danger and pain the girl faced when she was stabbed.
“This came from a spectre. He pretended to be a friend and stabbed me by surprise.”
Nova’s eyes darkened, and it was as if the air conditioning of the bridge got turned on. “Who is he and where can I find him?”
Jean was satisfied by the response. “He’s dead.”
Nova smirked proudly. “He got off lucky. If I got my hands on him first…” She trailed off as there was no need to go on.
“Here…” Jean stood up and straightened her hair with a flip. “I need to show you something. Something else.” She held her right hand out, and Nova grabbed onto Jean’s hand. The two dressed in a similar style of specialized suits and left the bridge.

They walked past the empty hallway and into a white room where there was a one man tall chamber. Jean pressed something, and the stasis chamber was opened.
Nove frowned. A body was within the stasis chamber. Long blonde hair. Pale skin. Closed eyes. The body seemed familiar. Then she realized it was a duplicate of herself. The agent looked at her loved one for answers.
“As I told you before, I can only bring non living objects with me. Of course, there are ways around that. For example, according to my previous experiments, mechanical bodies with human thoughts can be passed as non living objects. This.” She pointed at the body. “This body is made up of mechanics, but it is modified to be as similar as a human body as possible. It is able to hold a human conscious.”
“This is for me.” Nova concluded.
“Of course, it’s your choice. If you want to stay here in this world I will respect your decision, but...” Jean trailed off. “But I hope you can join me. This is going to be a lonely life without you.”
Nova signed. She wanted to join Jean, especially after she just slept with the girl, but abandoning her body and becoming a practical machine was sort of extreme. She was about to answer when Jean added.
“For your convenience I designed the body to be just like a normal human being. You can eat, drink, sleep, love, and even have sex. Of course you can turn these feelings off if you want to, but everything can be completely normal to you.”
“And my combat abilities?” Nova walked closer and touched the body. Its skin felt smooth and real. Running her finger across her face, Nova felt like she was touching herself rather than a manufactured droid.
“From my knowledge your psi energy can not be passed onto your new body, but you don’t need the power. Your new body will be equipped with large amounts of weaponry that doesn’t require psi energy to activate.” Jean tapped her watch, and a metal plate appeared on a table on the room. A dozen types of weapons were on the the plate. Nova examined them curiously.
Plasma blade. Psi blades but didn’t need any psi energy. Capable of cutting through almost anything. Deadly in the hands of a trained killer like Nova.
Specialized grenades. Does immense splash damage in a short area. Easy to carry and use.
Plasma rifle. Fires a plasma bolt at the target and does massive single target damage. The thermal energy could melt through most armor.
Chrono rift. Slows down the movement of anything within a certain area.
Those were just a small part of the arsenal Jean provided Nova with. With the Dominion as backup, Jean had access to the peak of the terran technology. Others included a ghost visor, a suit that provided cloaking without the need of psi energy, a turbojet jumpsuit, flashbang grenades, stim infusion, holo decoy, ionic force field, and so much more. Nova believed she could take down an army with these gadgets.
She turned back, satisfied. Her agreement to Jean’s proposal was obvious. “How will you transfer my conscious?”
“With the purifier technology on that ship.” Jean motioned for the Cybros. “Speaking of the ship…”
“Commander, the stasis lock is deactivated. You now have full access to the Cybros.”
“Shall we?” Jean held out her left arm into a circle as if she was in a wedding. Nova joined the girl as she held onto her thin arm. If this was a wedding, Jean would be the groom and Nova would be the bride. The two walked out of the room and toward an unknown future.
