After killing the Rock Monkey, we continued heading deeper for a few hours into the forest when decided to set up camp as the sun began to set. The guards looked to give up the idea of killing us for quick profits but I’m keeping my guard up against them just in case.

“Lucifer what are you thinking about.” Luna asks me as we sit around without campfire as it would summon demon beast to our location.

“Nothing, why don’t you use this chance to practice.” I said and Luna moves few feet away closing her eyes. The temperature around her began to rise quickly which quickly caught the attention of the guards.

“Monsters.” May said and the other two just nodded as they feel the Qi in the air travel towards us.

I decided to practice along with Luna so I closed my eyes and began to gather energy around me but I discovered a new type of Qi energy that even the deity memories couldn’t recognize and began absorbing it.

At the start of absorbing it was easy but the longer I absorb it more painful it got as it began to strengthen my body to an extreme height from before but also strengthen my Qi energy while also doubling my Qi energy for my current stage. I quickly looked over at the guards and see that Tia and Toby both have their weapon drawn and have pale faces while May on the guard missing an arm and bones sticking out of her leg. When I looked pass them I saw a Night Tiger which is known for both its power and defense but was even more terrifying about this tiger is that it current cultivation is at half step into the xiantian realm.

“Luna get ready.” I quickly shout at Luna causing her to open her eyes and shake as she saw the scene in front of her. “There are worse things in the world than this so get used to it.”

Luna quickly grabs her sword and took up a defensive position while I lifted my heavy sword but quickly noticed it gotten lighter.

“Be careful as Night Tigers are known for their high intelligence along with their strength and speed. Their claws can easily tear through steel.” I quickly said to Luna well we quickly join the fight.

“You two run while we hold it off for along as we can.” Toby shouts as he noticed that we were approaching.

“It won’t help much even if you give up your lives as it’s just toying with you.” I said causing him to fill with rage for being toyed with.

“How he is doing that?” Luna asks me as she has never heard of what he wasdoing.

“He is burning his life in order to forcefully raise his cultivation but it has more disadvantage than advantages.” I said shaking my head. “By using this method not only is he shortening his lifespan by decades he is also cutting off any chance of advancing in this lifetime.”

“There has to way to heal him afterward right.” Luna said feeling pity for him.

“Why is he doing this then.” Luna said as we watch him battle furiously against the tiger not caring about defending.

“It must be to give us a chance to escape.” I said while looking at Tia and May as tear rain down as they retreated.

The fight between Toby and the Night Tiger reached its climax with Toby swing his ax at the tiger head while the tiger smashes down with its giant paw. But sadly, the tiger was a bit faster and smash Toby head into a bloody paste but tiger still heavily wounded from the fight.

The Night Tiger looked at our group and decided to retreat as it never expected to be heavily wounded from prey it deems weak.

“Want to escape not a chance.” I said using the lightning ability of primordial Lightning Phoenix to increase my speed allowing me to catch the Night Tiger and I quickly swung my heavy sword crushing its head.

“No we're fine but one of the guards died and the other two are seriously injured.” I said and grandfather calmed down and looked over at May and Tia. After seeing them both he just sighed as if he disappointed in them.

“I should have picked better guards.” He said while he just tossed them the money and few healing pills and told them to leave.

“So, what were your gains from the trip.” Grandfather asks and I pulled out the corpse of the demon beast we hunted.

“Not bad and you even manage to hunt a Night Tiger, Rock Monkey, and Wind Wolf.” Grandfather gave us praise.

“Grandfather why don’t you hold a family tournament since the city-wide tournament coming up in few months.” I ask and grandfather thought about it.

“Sure, let do that as I noticed that my descendant been slacking a bit and getting full of themselves.” He said and left.
