My name is Kuman. One day, I realized I was living in a dark cave with my clan, the Steel Bear Clan. None of us knew how we got into this dark cave, yet we lived in peace with each other. The cave was not big enough for all of us to enter at the same time. However, we came up with an idea that I think is good: some would scout the area while others kept watch. We could not let our guard down.
When the reconnaissance team returned, some were heavily injured. We learned that there were other dangerous beasts around the area, and the ones living not far from us were the Black Spider Clan. What surprised me the most was that the Black Spider Clan had fangs that could penetrate our skin.
Not long after that incident, the Spider Clan attacked us. We realized that survival of the fittest was the name of the game. The spiders had an advantage in numbers, and not only that, their webs were elastic and tough to break. We did not know why they attacked, although they did so with full force. Daily, I saw my comrades die before my eyes. Our numbers decreased rapidly, and we decided to move up and leave our home behind.
Twenty of us left the cave and traveled the road that seemed like a steep incline. We were going against the gradient. We soon reached the top, and I felt as if some weight was lifted from my shoulders. We found a small cave; however, a new problem appeared: food and water. It was safe here, though there was no prey to hunt. We discovered some small green monsters, yet they were cowards; they would lay traps or sneak attack us. Sometimes we would get lucky and catch a few. Nevertheless, due to our big appetite, we were never satisfied. The elders prioritized the young ones, but soon they died due to starvation. We had to eat them in order to survive. Our clan declined until only three of us survived.

One day, the youngest never returned, and we thought maybe he was attacked and killed by the spiders. I was resting in the cave with my sister when we heard something approaching. Later, we found two of those green monsters dead near the entrance of our cave. We thanked the gods for providing us with food. The following day, I went to investigate what had killed those green monsters. Maybe it was the spiders, and we needed to move again. When I returned, I found my sister dead, and next to her was this creature with pointy ears. It was the first time seeing it, and it was strong. Damn, I am bleeding, and my arm has been cut off. I cannot see anymore. Is this poison? Am I going to die here? Well, brothers and sisters, let’s all be a family again in the next life.
