Chapter 021 - The Journey Continues

Akiza took one last look at her Home before she left. She had packed everything she could have needed and made sure she had enough food and water to last for a while. The only thing left is the pool and some of her old clothes. "I'm going to miss this place," said Akiza.

"I'm sure you can come back in the future," Akira replied.

Akiza headed out of the cave and made sure to cover up as much of the entrance as she could, including rolling a few rocks to make it look like the rocks fell all around it. "This will make sure it is hard to find," she said to herself.

Akiza then made her way in the opposite direction of the river since that led to a cliff and a lake. As she made her way, she felt the Nature energy get weaker as the number of trees decreased. She was moving away from the dense center of the forest. What she found was that she was at the bottom of another cliff.

"You're in a basin," said Akira.

"What does that mean?" Akiza asked.

"You're in a hole in the ground surrounded by mountains," Akira explained.

"So?" said Akiza in a confused manner.

"Follow the left wall, there should be a small path out of here somewhere," Akira replied.

"Okay Master," said Akiza. She then followed the edge of the cliff as she continued to walk.

Eventually, there was a hole, but it was dark, so she decided to rest. As she slept on the ground, she looked up at the stars in the sky. It was her first night sleeping outside since her parents died. Tears rolled down as she said, "Mom.... Dad....."

It was clear that Akiza missed her parents very much, but there was little that Akira could do about it.

The next morning, Akiza ate on the move as she left the covering of the trees. It was her first time out of the forest in about half a year, but she did not know that because she did not keep track of the number of days passed.

In front of the entrance to the basin was a road. A single road had led to the basin that Akiza had been in. As she walked, she felt strange and uncomfortable, as if there was some kind of pressure crushing down on her. At times, she found it hard to breathe.

"Are you okay?" Akira asked.

"I feel tired and sick," answered Akiza.

"It might be that elf blood in you," said Akira.

"What does that have to do with this?" asked Akiza.

"The elf blood within you is great when you are near a strong source of Nature energy, like the forest, but when you get away from it, it feels uncomfortable," Akira explained. "You should get used to it after a while though as long as you don't stay in a forest for too long without leaving again."

Akiza followed the only road in front of her. After a while, she saw other people around her. There were other people, so she must have been going the right way. However, it was strange. Everyone was wearing the same clothes. A combination of white and green. Even when she was traveling with her caravan, different people wore different clothes, but here, almost everyone was wearing the same thing, a green and white robe.

Akiza walked up to one of the robed men and asked, "Where am I?"

"You're on the West Road," said the man.

"Where is the nearest town?" Akiza asked.

"Are you lost little girl?" asked the man.

Akiza nodded her head.

"If you follow the road to the East is the West Wind Academy, most of the people here are from there," the man said. "Do you need someone to help you get there?"

"No, I'm okay," said Akiza as she continued walking.

"Why didn't you take his help?" asked Akira.

"He gave off a strange aura," said Akiza.

"He is most likely a practitioner of martial arts like you," Akira answered. "He gives off an aura because he has Internal Energy in his body."

"It doesn't change that he seems weird, I don't trust him," said Akiza.

As Akiza continued on the road she saw more and more people, some of them no longer wore the same robes. "We must be near a town!" Akiza thought to herself and started running.

Akiza ran past many people, drawing the attention of some people. Soon, she reached a place where there was a lot of people. It was surrounded by walls. In front, a sign read "West Wind Academy."
