Chapter 007 - Tears

"Are you okay there kid?" asked Akira.

"Yes, the pain seems to have stopped Master," replied Akiza.

"Do you wish to continue? Or do you want to rest?" asked Akira.

"I will continue, I wish to become stronger," stated Akiza.

"Well, the next technique is the World Spiritualist Technique," said Akira. "It was a technique created by a man known as the World Spiritualist. He was a powerful martial artist that could also use Nature and Aura energy. This was a technique he used in order to look for artifacts and medicines."

"Artifacts?" asked Akiza.

"They're objects created by someone who used their Internal Energy during the object's creation," explained Akira. "This technique is used to detect the types of energies coming from an object."

"But earlier, I felt that we were surrounded by Nature energy, and that there was both Yin and Yang energy in my body," Akiza replied.

"Then you might already know this from just the Nine Yins and Nine Yangs Manual," said Akira.

"Yes, the Manual stated a lot of information about it," Akiza replied.

"Then let me ask you, what was most of the energy that you sensed in yourself?" Akira asked.

"I felt a lot of Yin, some Yang, and a small mixture of others," Akiza stated.

"That is correct!" Akira said loudly nodding confirming at Akiza's words. "As a girl, you mostly have Yin energy. The Yang might be from my presence, but the fact that you were able to acquire a mixture of the others meant that you truly understood the meditation technique. With this, we know that you can also sense sources of energy, meaning that you can detect useful and harmful plants."

"How does this help?" asked Akiza.

"You can detect whether something is balanced or imbalanced," Akira replied. "When you have time, come look at the second book of the Nine Yins and Nine Yangs Manual. It contains a lot of medicinal knowledge that may help you understand. In the meantime, let's test out your abilities."

"Now, Master?" asked Akiza.

"Yes now," stated Akira. "Your job is to look for three types of herbs. The first is River Spirit Grass, it grows near rivers and you can probably find one near where you first woke up. The second is the Bark of a Thousand Year Old Tree. I assume you know where to find this one. The last is the Purple Amaryllis."

Akiza made her way back to place where she first woke up. She used the rocks she had placed to find the river. As she made her way back, she noticed that she wasn't as tired as before. She thought about how the Internal Energy inside of her made herself stronger even though she still was not used to the pain yet.

"Master?" asked Akiza.

"Yes?" Akira replied.

"Is Internal Energy responsible for my changes?" Akiza asked.

"Yes it is," Akira answered. "It makes you physically stronger, though you still need to do some exercise. As you walk around you will notice you do not get tired as easily and it is much easier to move around, but this is due to your Internal Energy strengthening you."

Akiza nodded to show that she understood and continued towards the direction of the river. As she got closer, she heard the sound of the water. When she saw the river, she ran towards it and was amazed at the sight of it. She had not noticed it before as she was hurt and weak the last time she was here. She remembered that the first thing she had to do was point an arrow back in the general direction of the tree so that you did not forget.

"You know, you do not have to do this Aki," Akira stated. "You can use your senses and the World Spiritualist Technique to detect that big tree."

"But I can't feel energy from that far away," Akiza said with a frown.

"Fine, but you will be able to soon enough," Akira replied.

Once Akira stopped talking, Akiza finished laying down her arrow stone near the forest entrance so that it was at least partially hidden and others will not see it easily. She then turned to the river and jumped into the river only to realize that she could almost stand in it at the deepest part.

"Disappointed?" Akira asked.

"Yes," replied Akiza.

"Don't forget why you're here," Akira stated.

"Yes, I know, Master, but being around water is calming and it helps me think," Akiza replied as she looked at her reflection in the water. Her face was dirty again and she began to wash off the dirt from her face.

"Pretty as always I see," Akira said.

As Akiza heard these words, her face turned red. She still felt odd that someone other than her parents were calling her beautiful. "I got my hair from my dad and most of my face from my mom," said Akiza.

"Oh, that's right, your dad was an elf," said Akira. "Don't worry about it, you will be much more beautiful once you develop your Internal Energy."

Akiza tried to steer the conversation away from her looks to learn more about what Akira knew about her parents. "Elf?" asked Akiza. "Mom and dad never talked about where they were from."

"Well, based on what I could tell, your father was an elf, and your mom was from one of the islands in the East," said Akira.

"How do you know that?" Akiza wondered.

"Your dad had pointed ears and blond hair, physical traits for common elves," stated Akira. "And as for your mom, her name is similar to yours and mine, they're from an island to the East."

"I miss them," Akiza said as tears began to flow down her face.

"I know you do," said Akira as he tried to calm her down. "I know they're gone, but you must remember they gave their own lives to protect you because they believed you were more important. Someday, you will have the power to protect others so they will not have to experience what you did."

"I know, Master," said Akiza as she continued crying and trying to wipe her tears.

"It is okay to cry," said Akira. "Remember what I told you, stay true to yourself. Even though a Hero is meant to be a symbol to others, you must always remain true to yourself and crying to show your own sadness is okay. Cry as much as you need to. We will continue when you are ready."
