What did I know? Practically nothing. For all I knew, the air on this planet contained slow poisons that would kill me in two weeks. Unlikely, but possible.
What did I have? I had a phone, a stick, and a bunch of berry seeds.
What did I need to do? I had to survive. Any other goal was an unnecessary luxury, even healing my leg. I could always fix my leg later. Neither me nor my leg would be very happy if I died.
Anyway, back to keeping my life intact. The stick wasn’t going to be very helpful. My phone, on the other hand, could be useful. I flipped through some random anime episodes that I had cough downloaded. It took a while for me to find what I was looking for.
My hands fumbled for another seed. I shoved it into the ground and clasped my hands together to pray for success. A monstrous dandelion grew out. Its stem was about as thick as my pinky. I broke the stem of the dandelion and white goo flowed out.
I took the goo and spread it over a small vine. I blew on the goo until it dried.
Next, I planted another seed and it sprouted into a modified walnut. It was actually a simple little contraption. It looked like a smooth brown egg from the outside. However, its insides were hollowed out and I could open and close it at will. Its insides were just big enough for me to fit inside.

“Protect” has been named!
Protect reached level two!
Then I created another nine modified versions of Protect. The nine were more fragile compared to the first, but they cost much less than Protect. I could only hope these nine would never need to be used.

I stopped creating more plants, I needed to keep at least two hundred mana in reserve to move the vines.
A web of tiny vines spread across the space around my vinehouse. The tiny vines acted as hundreds of trip wires. If something came into my territory, the vines would tug on each other in a chain and a rock would drop on my stomach. Not the best alarm system, but I do what I can. I also tossed my phone out of the house along with the special goo coated vine.
New Cultivator skill unlocked : Program
Program has reached level two!
I decided to keep my status screen open at all times so that I could know how much mana everything cost. I could see through the blue screens, like a smear on glass, so it didn’t impede my vision much.
Afterward, I tried to find new skills by attempting a bunch of random actions. I tested for skills until nightfall, but none showed themselves. Either I had to discover them naturally, or I had run out of skills to discover.
I had completed my preparations and done everything I could. Now I just needed to wait and see what this world could throw at me. If they could penetrate my current defenses, I never had any chance to begin with.
