Prymn, who had finally succeeded in killing his master, a demon hunter called Adel, was now free. Since his master had been a lazy, useless, lump of muscles, the one who had been forced to work, so that both could eat, had been him. His appearance impeded him from getting conventional jobs, so instead, he sculpted. Selling the figures he carved, based on anime, games and movies. He was popular enough to live with that money alone - that and the insignificant amount of money sent monthly by Adel’s parents. It was a way to shut him up about the fact that they left him alone on a rundown house on the middle of nowhere. Well, at least it had internet access, but then again, what did not? Nowadays, when even your toilet is smarter than an average 5 years old kid... Technology had advanced so much that something considered mere fiction had been made possible. That is virtual reality.
Sadly for Prymn, he had not been able to enjoy virtual reality games, as the only capsule in the house had always been occupied by Adel. But since Adel's suspicious accident involving a wire and a shotgun, Prymn was now free to do as he pleased, and so, he would. Deciding to play his late master’s favorite game, he searched for information about it on the internet, and there, he found something shocking.
[Guys, I just met the smartest bird in the world on Royal Road. It’s unbelievable. We have to recruit it! We have to recruit that penguin, Peril!]
While reading the topic name, Prymn got irritated. He had seen news about such a penguin, but to him, Peril was just an overrated celebrity. Considering himself the most intelligent penguin in the world, he decided to post his opinion on the forum. He posted that Peril was not even half as smart as him.
“No way, dood! The smartest penguin is me, not that guy, I will show them, I too will play Royal Road, dood!" Screamed Prymn, as if to tell the world his intentions. Not that there was anyone who could hear him at the house, literally, the middle of nowhere. That was, in fact the street’s name.
His reply was seen as the sad attempt of a troll who was desperate for attention, and was soon deleted by the forum’s admins. But Prymn did not know that, as he was inside the capsule, starting his account creation process.
“That’s such a nice penguin costume, did you make it yourself?” Asked a feminine voice from out of nowhere, thinking the person before her was a kid dressed in a penguin costume. Oh, did I ever mention Prymn was a penguin demon? No? Oh, well. Let’s just continue the story, okay?

“How many times must I say, dood. It’s not a penguin costume, dood!” He said, for the second time. His answer and angry attitude made the GM, the mysterious voice owner, laugh.
“Okay, then. Never mind that, I have other players to work with. So, please select your avatar’s name.” She asked. As amusing as it was, talking with the penguin boy, she was supposed to be working.
“Prymn, dood!” He said, happy she had finally moved on.
“I suppose, you mean the name is Prymn?” She asked, as she had grown accustomed to the way he spoke.
“Aye, dood!” Said Prymn, wondering why she had said so.
“Please select your gender from male, female or neutral.” Said the girl, who was curious about the costumed person’s gender as only his voice was not enough to determine it. He sounded like a high pitched kid, and that could mean anything.
“Neutral, dood!” Said Prymn, prinnies had no gender distinction, and frankly, he did not care about who he was before becoming a prinny.
“Tch, fine. Select your race then.” She said, slightly annoyed at the ambiguous answer. It seemed her curiosity would not be sated today.
“Prinny, dood!” He said, happily.
“There Is no such race on this game, pick another.” After having been told that, Prymn started to read the races which were available.
“Make me an avian, dood.” Of all the races available, the only one which was similar to him was the avian, a race of humanoid birds from the city of Lavias.
“I guess it fits you nicely. Do you want to modify your appearance?” She asked, smirking at his choice. She, herself, could have not picked something better for him.
“Just make it as similar to how I am as possible, dood.” Now, before him, was a rather short humanoid bird with blue feathers, except for the ones at his belly which were snow white. The short beak and limbs provided him with a comical, yet cute look.
“That’s cute. Good luck on the game. Your stats and class will be determined as you play. And since you selected that race, I am sorry to inform you cannot choose your starting location. Good bye, dood! *chuckles*."
Welcome to Royal Road. May you have a grand adventure on your journey to become the Emperor.
That was the last thing Prymn saw before being enveloped in a bright white light. And so, the prinny Prymn’s quest, to prove to the world he was the best penguin, started.
