Jana hugged Zara tightly and kissed her face.

"Zara honey are you OK are you OK does it still hurt."

Zara just sat there with a stunned expression and Jana became increasingly worried.

"Sen, what's wrong with Zara, she won't answer. What have you done to her?"

"I did exactly what I said I was going to do, you're daughter is now healed."

"Mom he's right, I can, I can breathe."

Zara took a deep breath in through her nose and released it out of her mouth in a calm manner. This left Jana stunned she barely managed to ask her daughter.

"Zara, are you truly better?"

Zara gave a nod.

"Yes."

Jana looked to Sen and began to bawl her eyes out she fell to her knees and bowed pressing her head to the dirt floor.

"Sen thank you I can't express this feeling in my heart properly enough thank you Sen thank you."

Sen felt a bit awkward, he quickly grabbed Jana by her shoulders and stood her to her feet.

"Please stand up I just did it because I wanted to. I can tell you are a very good person so come on no need for tears we have a few more things to do today."

Jana's tears came to a sobbing stop and both her and Zara both looked at Sen curiously.

"Sen, what do you mean we have things to do?"

"Hehehe, well seeing how it's your birthday let me take you two to dinner. Your complexion looks to be better, but when's the last time the two of you have had any meat."

The two looked on at Sen like he was an angel rescuing them from the abyss and it was true since Zara was born she had never had meat in her entire life. The cost was something her mother simply could not afford.

Everyday the main staple of food was dry hard bread which you could probably knock someone out with if pushed came to shove as well as a bit of gruel or soup which never had meat in it and sometimes didn't even have any vegetables in it either just a bit of herbs Jana found around the outskirts of the forest nearby the city.

Sen seeing the two in a daze snapped his fingers together.

"Hello, did you not hear me, I said let's go eat."

Snapping out of their daze Jana shook her head no.

"Sen how can I even accept food from you when you've already done so much. Not in a hundred nor in a thousand years could I ever pay you back, I'm sorry, but we can't accept it."

"But mother he said he would pay."

"No, Zara he's already helped us enough."

"But, but."

"I said no, Sen please forgive Zara she's still young she doesn't know proper manners. To ask more from you when you've already done so much."

Once more Jana gave a slight bow.

Sen looked on at the mother and daughter and asked one final time.

"Jana are you quite sure?"

"Yes, once more, thank you."

"Well alright, but before I go you know ."

Sen flashed like a blur and landed right next to Zara, he quickly embraced her and said.

"Then I'll be borrowing your daughter. If you're interested then meet us at the restaurant ."

Right as he finished those words a bracelet on his wrist began to glow and a swirl of green energy encompassed his as well as Zara's body. Streams of silver orbited around the two as though they were a vacuum and like that the two vanished. Even though it seemed longer then described it happened almost instantly.

Jana was left with her eyes wide in shock, stuttering she said.

"G, g, g, g, gone."

Meanwhile back in the city on a rooftop just inside the walls a portal of green silver energy formed instantly and a boy and young girl were forced out on top of the roof.

"Kyaa! where are we?"

The girl was in a state of panic, suddenly the boy grabbed her and her vision went white and in the next instant she was standing atop a roof. She was scared beyond her wits she screamed at the boy.

"Where are we where's my mom?"

It was then that she noticed the boys condition. Sen was hunched over breathing heavily, his entire body drenched in sweat. His mana was nearly exhausted and his body was heavily fatigued he could also feel his body cramping up a bit.

He quickly looked towards the sun eyes wide trying to replenish his empty reserves. The girl looked on confused, everyone knew that if you stare at the sun you'd either go blind or dumb whichever came first. Seeing Sen being very weird she calmed down a bit and quickly asked.

"What are you doing? your gonna go blind if you do that."

Sen simply ignored her and continued for a few minutes just staring up at the sky until finally he released a heavy breath.

*Phew*

"Much better."

It can be understood that usually it would take Sen several minutes before he could teleport. The reason why he had just done it instantly could be found in the purplish black bracelet he wore. It was the same one in which Ryyla made. It was an amplifier bracelet or an A.P.B for short. Ryyla literally had dozens of these lying around her home so Sen took one long ago.

With it he could raise his power by 2 ranks and immediately teleport, but since his dimensional magic wasn't as good as hers, Sen could only teleport once with it. Plus it could only take him a few miles at the most and in doing so he would pay a price. He would immediately be fatigued and mentally exhausted. His mana would be nearly tapped out and his body would on occasion spasm or cramp up, it was a lot to deal with.

If he were to teleport the normal way it would take several minutes for the magic to complete and with it Sen could travel 10's of thousands of miles in one teleport. Also, it required almost a 10th of his entire store of mana and it wouldn't harm him in any way. The reason why he used the rushed version is because he felt that Jana wasn't gonna accept his offer no matter what he said so he had to disappear fast with Zara.

Either way he was already regretting it. He thought to himself

"Why didn't I just pick her up and fly away with her to the city that would have been so much simpler and I would have gotten here in only a few seconds. Damn, I don't think sometimes, don't tell me I inherited some of my father's foolishness."

"Now what were you saying, Zara?"

"Why did you kidnap me and what was that magic just now."

"Relax I didn't kidnap you, really, just look over there ."

Sen pointed past the wall and in a blurry distance away they could both see the slum encampment outside the city.

"See, you live over there I simply teleported us into the city so we could go grab some dinner. It seems to be about around that time so come on let's go."

"But, but mama."

"What about her, I told her if she wanted to see you we'd be at a restaurant so what's the big deal, she'll come and we'll all have a meal together."

"But Sen you."

Not getting what Zara was getting at Sen was getting a bit impatient .

"Zara come on just spit it out already, don't tell me you yourself don't want a free meal."

Zara quickly shook her head.

"It's not that I don't want food its just that."

"Just what?"

"Well, you didn't say which restaurant specificly we were going to, so mama doesn't know."

"What of course I did, I said for her to meet us at the res....crap."

Sen slapped his forehead, he really did inherit his father's foolishness just a bit. Even though he told Jana they were going to a restaurant he didn't specify which one. This was a city, even though it wasn't a big city there were still over a hundred or so restaurants and that doesn't include all of the bars and inns as well as the stalls on the streets.

It would probably take all day or maybe even two to visit every one of them. Sen quickly thought up what to do and it easily came to him. He once more grabbed Zara into his arms, but this time lifted her in princess carrying style. as soon as he picked her up she immediately let out a small eeeep kind of noise.

*Eeeep*

"What are you doing? pu.. put me down."

"Sure in a second."

Sen gathered up the power of the wind and leaped off the roof. Zara once more cried out in panic *KYAA* She quickly shut her eyes terrified and waited for the impact, but it didn't come. With a bit of courage, she just managed to peak and what she witnessed shocked her. She wasn't falling, but instead was floating in mid air or to be more precise Sen was floating in mid air whilst holding her, surprised she said.

"Sen, you can use wind magic too, how can you do all of this?"

Sen simply smirked and said.

"Because I can."

To Zara, that was no answer at all, but she couldn't really refute anything because Sen's existence at this moment in time was unfathomably profound and deep. She simply gulped and asked what they were gonna do now.

"Hehehe simple, we fly back towards your house and collect your mom and then we walk to a nice restaurant and fill our stomachs until they almost explode. How does that sound."

Now Zara was the one smiling, first she was healed then she teleported now she was flying and she was going to have meat for the first time in her life. She couldn't help but have a huge grin form on her face.

"It sounds like a fairytale."

"Bwahahaha a fairytale, hahaha maybe it is."

Sen couldn't help but laugh, but Zara found no ill intent in it. He then with a kick of his feet flew forward at a good pace, were he to fly at his normal speed he may end up breaking Zara due to the air pressure alone. So he decided it best to fly at a much slower speed, It was only slightly faster than running.

As they flew over the walls lots of people stared up at them in awe and even some of the guards started to panic, however, Sen quickly flew past them and because he was up so high they couldn't tell what he looked like nor Zara. Only a few hundred feet past the gate and Zara and Sen both spotted Jana, Zara shouted out and waved.

"Mom, look up here, it's me it's me I'm flying."

Royal Road is the home of this novel. Visit there to read the original and support the author.

Zara waved furiously at her mother and Sen and her descended to the ground, finally landing Jana ran up to her and shouted out.

"Zara, honey I was so worried, are you OK?"

Zara tore herself from her mother's embrace.

"Mom, I'm fine I'm fine, Sen took me to fly even though it was short it was so amazing. Mom, can I be a magician too? how do you become a magician?wait how do you even use magic?"

As Zara bombarded her mother with questions Jana saw that she was fine and a bright smile was seen on her face. At first she was worried what Sen was up to, but she realized if he truly wanted to hurt her or her daughter he would have done it already. She looked on at Zara dotingly, she had never seen her daughter so talkative. It made her extremely gleeful and warm in her heart that she had met Sen.

"So Jana are you going to come with me to dinner or should I take your daughter with me again hahaha."

Jana shook her head.

"That's not necessary, me and Zara would be delighted to join you for a meal."

Sen was a little surprised at her sudden turnaround, but Sen being Sen got over his surprise rather quickly and decided to just go with it.

"Great let's roll."

And like that the three leisurely walked back into the city. On the way in they all noticed the guards running around a bit franticly, but none of them thought much of it and continued to a nearby restaurant. As the three approached a delicious smelling shop Jana and Zara were about to walk in when Sen stopped them both.

"Wait you two can't go in there."

Jana and Zara's faces both sunk, they both thought that this was all some cruel trick to get there hopes up and just as they were going to enter Sen would tell them it was a prank and then laugh at them. Jana looked saddened and Zara was about to break out into a cry. She knew that everything seemed to be too perfect today, like something from a dream. Jana looked at Sen and asked in a saddened tone.

"Sen are we not eating now?"

Sen quickly shot back.

"Nope."

The twos hearts sank neither one could believe this was actually happening. Zara began to whimper when Sen finished saying.

"Not before we look acceptable."

"What?"

He then pointed across the street and in the window of a store were beautiful dresses made of fine material. Sen grabbed the two by their arms and crossed the street where he continued to pull them into the shop. He walked up to the counter and slapped 5 gold coins onto the counter top and said loudly.

"These two are getting whatever they want, you hear me?"

The man behind the counter was an elderly gentleman, he looked to be around 60 years of age. His head was nearly all white and he wore thick-framed glasses and his nose was slightly pointed.

He had almost no facial hair only a small thin mustache as well as a framed body that was very thin. The man was stunned at first, he had never seen such a weird scene. A dirty boy and two dirty girls one young and one just slightly mature, but looking at the gold with a bit of greed he could tell at an instant it was real. So he didn't really care who the three weird people were, he simply said.

"Um, young sir about your payment."

Sen was already angry, if he faced another situation like in the bakery he wouldn't be so kind this time. He would burn this shop to the ground before someone talked to him the way the baker did, Sen angrily roared.

"WHAT ABOUT IT?"

Once more the older gentleman was a bit shocked he had no clue why this youth suddenly yelled at him, but he himself was going thru some tough times so he would grin and bear it for money. The old tailor calmly stated.

"Young sir this is too much money. The wares in my shop are only a few hundred copper while the most expensive is only 5 silver with all of your money you could buy every piece in here maybe 10 times over."

Sen noticed his attitude and realized he jumped to conclusions he quickly calmed himself and said.

"Oh, that's what it was about. No matter, whatever these two want give it to them, we will discuss payment afterward."

"Yes young sir right away."

Zara and Jana simply looked at each other, they were both at a loss for words. The older gentlemen quickly snapped his fingers and an older woman came out from somewhere in the back. She quickly gave a bow and said.

"Customers, this way please."

"Who is this?"

"Ah sorry for not introducing her. This beautiful woman is my lovely wife Shena, she will help you with anything you need."

"You're not going to help them?"

"Hehe young sir, my wife helps with fitting them so that would be a bit inappropriate hehe."

"Oh OK, then you two have fun ill simply sit here and wait."

As the women went and browsed you could see and hear their excitement, never in either of their dreams did they think something like this could happen. Meanwhile, Sen sat there a bit bored so he decided to levitate some coins to relieve his boredom. The old tailor couldn't help but notice 10 gold coins levitating in a circle above the boys hand, he thought.

"That must be why this kid has money, he's a mage. He must work at one of the mage guild branches."

The old man quickly approached and asked Sen if he'd like a snack or a drink. Sen, of course, said no because he was about to go eat. After a while, the man stopped bugging Sen and walked back toward the counter and did a bit of paperwork.

After several more minutes, the three ladies finally came back from the dressing rooms. Zara wore a beautiful light blue dress which was covered in embroidered pink flowers, it flowed beautifully with white lace at the bottom and a big bright pink ribbon tied at her waist. Jana as well wore a blue long flowing dress also with lace at the bottom as well as 3 dark blue stripes laying horizontally around her sides. Even though Jana's was made simpler it gave off that mature beauty.

"Teehee how's my dress Sen?"

"Its good Zara."

Zara looked a little saddened at Sen's plain comment.

"Just good?"

"Yea you look pretty cute in it."

Hearing a boy call her cute for the first time made her face turn bright red. She quickly hid behind her mother while only slightly peaking out at Sen.

"Hmm, did I say something wrong?"

"No, Zara's just a little shy remember."

"Oh yes that's right."

Hearing her mother calling her shy made Zara feel even more embarrassed, she asked.

"Sen what about mom is she cute as well?"

Jana looked at her daughter and then at Sen.

"What, honey what are you saying. Of course I'm not, I'm an old lady there's no way I could be cute."

"No, you too Jana, you're pretty cute as well. Especially in such a fitting dress."

"Eh, what?"

This time it was Jana's face which blushed, not as bright as her daughters, but her cheeks were clearly a fine pink.

"Sen, what are you saying? don't make fun of an old woman."

"Hmm."

Sen didn't understand what she was talking about and asked them what else they were going to get. The mother and daughter looked at each other and then back at sen.

"Sen this is more than enough with this we are both happy."

Sen not wanting to have another pointless debate about what's enough and what isn't, decided to pay and go. He quickly walked back to the counter.

"What do I owe you ?"

"Will that be all young sir?"

"Yep, the two don't want anything else."

"Wait Sen, aren't you going to get something."

"Me, why what's wrong with my outfit?"

"What do you mean, have you not looked at yourself, your clothes are a mess. Besides we can't go to dinner having you dressed like that."

Sen quickly looked himself up and down, its true his clothes were a mess. The pants he wore had holes in them, his shirt was missing a button and his cloak was shredded at the bottom and missing several bits of fabric that have been tore away a long while ago. "Wow I really am a mess well I guess a new shirt would be better than one without a button."

"Old man what do you think/"

"A new set of clothes would look great on you."

"Hmm, OK let's go ."

After only a minute or two Sen came back with brand new clothes. A nice buttoned up shirt, brown slacks with no holes and a nice new cloak the same black color once more Sen asked.

"So what's my total?"

Even though the old man had finally seemed to get a customer with a bunch of money, he only bought so little the old man in a saddened tone said.

"13 silver sir is there anything else ?"

"Nah I'm good, here you are."

Once more Sen placed a piece of gold onto the counter.

"Um young sir I can't accept this, I don't have enough change ."

"What, but you were going to earlier. Gold is all I have."

"Yes, but earlier you were going to buy more, only if you bought more then I'd have enough to give you change do you see my Delima?"

Sen thought for a moment,t he didn't want any more clothes and he and the girls were already wearing the new clothes, Sen decided.

"OK then just keep the gold."

"What, really?"

The older couple looked at each other in amazement no one has ever tipped them before and to give so much this was never heard of.

"Yea keep it, what's the harm, or is it too difficult for you. Some people in this city don't seem to like having nice things done for them."

Once more Jana blushed she knew sen was talking about her.

"No, no, we gladly accept, thank you young sir ."

"Alright then goodbye."

The elderly couple gave a slight bow and once more said thank you. On the way out however Sen stopped and turned around.

"Oh, by the way, take this as well."

Sen flicked 2 more pieces of gold to them, one for each of them.

"This, what is this for young sir?"

"Hmm, that's for not turning us away because of how we looked as well as treating us with respect. Thanks for being friendly, goodbye."
