Its voice was ethereal and deep, reminding me that it was like the ocean itself, beautiful and full of peace on a sunny day, but a force to be reckoned with once a storm has arrived.
The creature's glowing eyes enraptured me like it was something that commanded attention and nothing else. It didn't matter though. The sheer pressure it was giving off was enough to have my full frontal attention.
“I… uh im.. C-Cosmo.”
I stammered, feeling myself not able to form coherent sentences. Sweat seemingly accumulated at my back without me noticing, with my palms felt as if I would let my weapon slip from my hands.
Cosmo Le Strange. I know.
Its reply echoed within my eardrums, giving off a reverberation that went through my body. The creature's response shocked me, how the hell did it know me? Better yet, who told on me? I would rather not get the attention of a creature of this stature.
The creature went silent, only staring at me with those big, yellow, and cold eyes. Making me feel like it saw right through me. With that small window of opportunity, I calmed myself down.
Taking a deep breath, I slowed down my heart which was beating like a drum. When I calmed down, I looked closer at the creature. I felt something peculiar about it like I met this thing in front of me before.
My forehead scrunched, thinking hard about where I met this, or how I even met it was a mystery to me. For some reason reason, I felt a slight connection with it. Dont know why though. I think our previous encounter was that significant to me, and that's the reason why I felt that way.
It's just my guess though.
But like a campfire that lit up on a cold winter night, it burned me. So it's that thing. Now I remember where I met this thing.
I looked up removed myself from my deep thoughts, and stared back at the creature in front of me. Now that I looked even closer, I'm even sure that it was that thing.
“So you were the Leviathan that saved me. Well hello there! I never got to thank you for saving my life.”
From a certain perspective, it did save my life. If saving my life meant that it didn't eat me when it had the chance, then I could say that it saved me.
The creature nodded its titanic head, yet it did not say anything back. It only looked at me, as if it was waiting for something else from me. I looked back with a quizzical gaze, wondering if he wanted a snack for something. Sorry to say that I don't have a big enough snack for his size. The creature seemed to have seen through my thoughts and said.
Idiot.
Without letting me even reply, it turned its head away from me, and in one big motion, dived back into the depths of the lake. In its wake, left a tsunami so high that even the capital building in the city would be buried in it.
I looked back at Mr Lucius, staring at him as I pointed to the tsunami that headed towards us. He seemed uninterested despite the possibility of us being crushed under that wave of water. He snapped his fingers, and the wave of water was dealt with, its size lessening to a degree where at best, it was only gonna be a splash.
How mean. The water splashed on me, fully drenching myself in water. My clothes were all but wet, with no exception.
I spurted out the water that entered my mouth, with a little fishy somehow got in. Realizing that I caught a fish, no matter how underhanded, I grasped the fish, yet just as I was about to get it, it slipped out of my hands, with the fish glanced at me with a mocking look, and went back into the water.
The fish is even mocking me now… I see…
Crackles of lightning started running through my body, and just as I was about to chase the fish, a hand suddenly clasped my shoulders. When I looked back to see who it was, it was Mr Lucius, still lazily looking at me with those scarlet eyes.
The gathered electricity suddenly vanished, feeling myself deprived of the necessary mana to pursue. I looked urgently at Mr Lucius, yet he only shook his head.
“It's not worth it child.
“But-”
“No buts, it's a fish. How can you be offended by a fish.”
I lay my head low in defeat, sitting back down as I clutched my fishing rod, remembered to put on bait, and released it back into the water. If I can't catch the fish the hard way, I'm going to catch it the easy way.

I looked up at the moon, silently praying that it would help me in my efforts to catch the fish that dared mock me, but also learning the lesson on why I am even here in the first place.
Drawing in a deep breath, I refocused myself and absorbed the current situation for what it was. I felt the cold wind brushing through my face, the sound of insects buzzing in the distance, and felt the utter calmness of the place despite a Leviathan briefly visiting.
I realized that the silence of the lake was nice. There weren't drunks shouting at me to get drinks, Mr. Samuel sending a squad of Assassins to slice me up, and Mr. Flying Tiger hurling dozens of {Hellfire} at me.
This is nice. Relaxing. Peaceful.
Come to think of it, when was the last time I just enjoyed the silence?
…
The world was still. Or at least, it felt still to me. I sat unmoving, my once tense muscles were relaxed, and the wet clothes were still wet, yet I did not mind. There was a feeling of inner peace at this moment like nothing was able to bother me.
Even if a meteor struck the lake we were on, I would not be shocked and just be indifferent. Watching it all happen, as if I was just a simple bystander.
Submerging myself in the moment, there was no past or future. There were no unnecessary thoughts in my head, only complete and utter peace. There was only the now.
The fishing pole was still gripped in my hands, but there was still no tugging from the fishies. I did not mind. I preferred it.
The concept of time seemed illusory to me like it did not even exist. I had no idea how long time had passed, the sky was still dark, the lake was calm, and I, for once, felt at peace.
“What is your desired end?”
A question was whispered to me through the air. It must be Mr Lucius. I did not look back, only passively hearing the question. I didn't answer the question. I did not even think of the question. I submerged myself in the question, of how I even did that I had no idea, I just did.
We sat in silence, Mr. Lucius didn't seem to be bothered by my silence. We only appreciated what time we had at the moment.
…
Snapping me out of my peace-like state, was the rising of the sun. I gently moved my head towards it, silently watching the sunrise from the east. Rising from the place I call home.
“How do you feel child?”
I looked back at Mr. Lucius, with him no longer having a lazy expression. He had a serious one, his hands placed behind his back, staring at me in patience, waiting for my answer. I did not reply, instead, I gripped my fishing pole, stood up, and reeled it back in.
There was an opposite force tugging at me, yet I ignored it and kept reeling it in. We fought for control, yet its resistance was futile in my eyes. And with one final pull, the thing I was reeling in exploded out of the water.
It was a fish, a slightly bigger fish than normal, but still a fish with razor-sharp teeth and scaly blue skin. Its eyes were looking at me with utter fury, yet I smiled back. I wasn't looking at a threat, I was looking at breakfast.
Dropping the fishing pole I held, I summoned my dual swords and leaped from the boat. The boat didn't even shake from my action.
The distance between us was closing, and in one fell swoop, I passed the fish in the air, with my once clean swords being stained with blood. I still lacked something I see.
I was up in the air, finally getting a clear view of the place. I saw the glittering image of the lake, the boat I and Mr. Lucius were on, and the fish I sliced up into pieces being caught by Mr. Lucius. He seemed very happy with what I did.
For a moment, I gazed towards the east, where the sun was still rising over the horizon. I stared at it in awe, the way it still rises every day without fail. No matter what. Its gentle light touched my face, and I felt its warmth.
Gravity eventually happened, and I slowly fell back down to earth, or the boat. I landed, the boat not even rocking.
I looked at the busy Mr. Lucius and said
“Let's go home.”
…
“Where dya get the fish kid?”
“I caught it.
“Huh, when did you learn how to fish?”
“I didn't. I just did it.”
Mr Samuel suddenly went mute. Probably not knowing how to respond. I don't blame him. I too would also be baffled if someone said that to me also. And I don't know why, but I somehow feel different. The good kind for once.
“I see…”
He had a pondering look on his face for a few seconds but seemed that he didn't care enough and just let the subject go. He grabbed the pieces of the fish from me, and with a smirk, grabbed me by the arm and started dragging me somewhere. Probably headquarters.
Soon, we were at the front door of the tall building. Its exterior is seemingly normal yet clean and a little grand. None would think that it was the headquarters of a group of Assassins. I was also surprised when I first came here.
I thought that we were in the wrong place at first, but I found out the truth when Ms. Rachel came out of the door, and guided us in. A little later I found out that she was Mr. Samuels's assistant.
Snapping myself out of my thoughts, we went in and saw that the place was a little odd. There were still a few people lounging about in the lobby, yet there was a certain expression plastered on their faces.
I tilted my head sideways, and my confusion only grew when I saw that Ms Rachel came down the stairs in a hurry. Her hair was frazzled with her makeup no longer apparent.
Heavy eyebags were under her eyes, clear that she didn't get a wink of sleep. I also didn't get a wink of sleep and I don't look like that. But I had a different situation. So now I wondered, what was her situation?
She came up to us, ignoring my presence as if I didn't exist, and with a voice that tried to keep calm yet failed miserably, she said.
“We have a problem.”
“Uhuh I see, so let's solve it later. For now, let's steam this fish first.”
Mr Samuel had a cheeky smile and held up the fish in front of Ms Rachel. She didn't seem amused, grabbing the fish from his hands, and throwing it into the far corners of the room. I saw it glide through the air but I didn't think it would be wasted. It seemingly vanished in mid-air. I'll eat it later.
“Rachel, I wanted to eat that. This problem better be complicated or someone going to die today.”
That was true. Someone did die that day. But not for the reasons stated above.
Ms Racheel seemed to have regained her composure, or it's either she was so mad that she was calm and replied.
“It's Morgan.”
“Crap.”
