It has been four months since being zapped here in spring, with fall fast approaching. I can say it has been a while.
In these months of staying here in Zorvaile City, there were some things I knew since I arrived here. It's that I know next to nothing about Amy Neworld. I did try to get to know her, but it crashed harder than it did when I got smacked in the air by a Kraken.
It's not that she was just a person who likes her privacy, no no. I don't believe that there was ever a person like that. Or at least, I never met one, since everyone back home always answered me honestly.
With Amy, it was different. She wouldn't budge. She keeps to herself, tending the bar and making sure it doesn't break down due to recent events. The number of times we had conversations, and by conversations I mean actually exchanging words, was little.
Not just me talking and Amy and Mr. Frank Listening. But actually talking with them and not at them. Did I mind? Not really, they already did a lot for me so the least I could do is not be a busybody.
Sometimes, I just wish that we could talk more. But that was my only, well ‘problem’ with Amy. Other than that, she was a really nice person once you get to know her, just ignore her ice-cold exterior and deadly gaze, and she was a warm person deep down.
She usually helps me a lot whenever I ask for it, things like where I could get a good Chokuto and daggers, or the best way to slice someone open. She would always answer with clear and concise language. She has been a big help to me, even if I don't know her all too well personally.
Her mannerisms and gait remind me of my sister, well if Amy was the opposite of my sister. If my sister was like an active volcano, then Amy would be like a calm blizzard. How a blizzard can be calm, I have no idea. Amy just gives me that sort of feeling.
Heck, she even tried rescuing me that one time, which almost cost her her own life. To this day, I had no idea why she did that. She should not have done that, she could have died due to me and I wouldn't be able to live with myself if she did. In fact, she almost did.
Nevertheless, she did help me and I swore to myself I would pay back the favor.
Amy is an enigma to me. Her reasons for moving elude me, I just can't seem to read her mind. Well, it's not like I can read anyone's mind for that matter, it's usually me being read like a book. But still, this move of hers, I don't understand.
Going to school with me? Saving me is one thing, but leaving Zorvaile City together was a whole different situation. I gazed at Amy's emerald eyes, as they reflected the current state of my mind. Panic.
“Wait, why? What about Mr. Frank? and the Bar? They won't be able to function without you.”
I stood up in a huff, pacing back and forth as I panicked. Sure her going with me was sweet and all, but Mr Frank would be all alone here. Mr Samuel too. I mean who would serve their beers? I doubt they would be hiring outside help.
“Cosmo-”
“Amy, you can't! It's dangerous, Mr. William said that the Inquisition is still after me, and you going with me would put you in even more danger.”
“Shut u-”
I confronted her. Standing face to face with her as I thought of something. I pulled out my chokuto and pointed it at her. Amy just coldly glared at me in response. Oh boy.
“I won't let you. It's bad enough that we had to leave the kid behind in the forest, and worse when you almost died due to that bastard. I'm sorry Amy, but you won't be leaving this forest unless you promise me you won't go.”
Standing my ground, my feet crackled with lightning. My Chokuto shone under the bright sun, letting out a vibrant call to battle. Its blade was also energized with lightning as it snaked around its edges.
“You idiot.” Amy sighed.
She unsheathed her sword, imbuing it with a scarlet hue. She had an annoyed expression on her face, but I won't be dissuaded. Putting herself in even more danger just because of me, I can't let that happen again.
“Don't go Amy, or else.”
“Or else what?”
“Or else… I won't be cleaning the tables.”

Honestly, I didn't think this through. My mouth kind of just moved on its own and at first, I wanted to pull back but it seemed it was already too late as Amy seemed to be hungering for battle.
Not good. Well, I must do this anyway.
“Idiot.”
She dashed at me at full force, her emerald eyes turning scarlet red with her aura strengthening. She made a horizontal slash and I met her in the middle. Our blades clashed with no one seemingly being in the advantage.
In reality, I lost that bout. I was pushed back just by a few inches, yet Amy seemed to have noticed and took advantage of it. She pulled back and sliced at me one more time as I met her blade again. We started exchanging blows, blade against the blade as sparks constantly flew.
We zipped around the battlefield as our slashes became even faster, our attacks becoming more fluid as we became in tune with our swords. But I knew. I was losing. It wasn't obvious at first, but as time passed on, as our blades collided, I knew I was at a losing end. I don't know how but she somehow matched my attacks despite my being faster
Her movements were fluid, softer, and unthreatening like a baby's smile, yet once our blades collided it was the complete opposite. Like a predator pretending to be prey.
I tried widening the distance between us using {Lightning Movement} yet she still somehow was able to follow. I zapped around the grounds, trying to find an angle I can use but to no luck.
Amy kept me on my toes, literally as she followed and stuck close to me. So with limited options, I chose another way to beat her. I parried her sword one more time at a precise angle, and in that brief moment, I saw that she was off balance.
Without wasting time, I used {Lightning Movement} and dove into the forest. Amy seemed to have realized what I was doing and followed. We zig-zagged through the forest, constantly clashing as we left a trail of blue and red on our path.
Some trees were caught in the crossfire and some were cut in half. While some were just burnt to a crisp by yours truly. Thunder was really neat at times.
Too bad it only worked on trees. In my training, I learned a little trick as I was manipulating the lighting. As I can also imbue it to my body and weapon, why not use it as some sort of projectile?
With that thought, I put it to the test. Using {Lightning Movement} to widen the distance, I energized my chokuto as it crackled with thunder, then I swung it at Amy. In a horizontal motion, the thunder seemed to have come alive as it traveled in the air to Amy.
Its path was scorched as trees were both sliced and burned. Amy saw it yet she only smiled, her aura suddenly intensified as she met it head-on. She imbued her sword with a red hue, its color seemingly deepened.
Her aura was in tune with nature, as it flowed gracefully in Amy's hands. She swung at my newly invented technique, thunder, and red colliding in a wondrous spectacle.
Her blade crashed against my thunder in mid-air, both not budging yet I somehow knew. It was not my victory. She planted her feet more tightly unto the ground, and pushed forward, as my attack dissipated into tiny particles of lightning.
Amy took a deep breath and smiled at me.
“Not bad.”
“Thanks?”
I didn't know what to say. I feel like if I talk more, I would be in really deep trouble.
“So um Amy, thought about my proposition?”
Amy didn't open her mouth and only shook her head.
“Why?! Can't you just trust me on this? Please!”
My head felt foggy, as emotions seemed to have clouded my mind. Without even thinking, I dashed at Amy and swung my Chokuto at her.
She blocked it but I swung again, this time feeling it was faster. In the next slash, I imbued it with Lightning, but it was blocked again. I electrified my whole body as I zipped around the battlefield. Never being in the same place at once.
I came from every angle, striking at Amy from every possible direction as I swarmed her with a constant barrage of stabs and slashes. I felt my own reasoning become a blur, my emotions taking control of my body.
“Why did you help me! Because of me, you got hurt. You almost died, Amy, died.”
“Wai-”
I didn't let her finish. I attacked her once again, this time with even more speed as I felt myself becoming more in sync with myself. In several seconds, our weapons clashed tens of times already, the sound of blades colliding constantly ringing out in the forest.
Amy seemed to have had enough as she was starting to take this seriously. She started her dance, gracefully swinging her sword at every moment. Striking me at the most unexpected angles, its swiftness slightly overarching mine. She stared at me with cold eyes yet there was something else in it, I just couldn't see it.
If she had a special move, I did too. I widened the distance between us, yet she stuck close. I summoned my scythe in my hand as I placed my chokuto on my left. I slashed both of them at Amy, yet she dodged it with ease and took advantage.
In a second, I already saw her fist making its way to my face. I was still in motion when I swung my sword, and dodging was futile. She first made contact as I was sent flying through the air and into a tree.
My back slid down the tree, laying limp with my weapons held in my hands. I tried standing up but I felt my body finally become numb. My body finally remembered the tiredness I felt in my previous battle, as it refused to listen to my command.
I looked up at Amy and saw that she was approaching. The sword was still in hand as she slowly approached me step by step. Like a dancer finishing her performance, she made one final move as she pointed her sword at my neck.
“Amy, if you still want to go to school. I won't stop you. But you will be the only one to go. Because one of us will be the only one leaving this forest, and it's not gonna be me.”
I unsummoned my Scythe and unsheathed my chokuto, and looked directly at Amy's eyes.
“Kill me.”
My head tilted forwards as I looked down. I knew from the start that I couldn't stop Amy, so if I can't stop her from going to school. I simply have to stop myself.
Suddenly, I heard a sword being sheathed. I looked up and noticed that Amy was looking at me with an even more annoyed expression. Like an adult finding a child doing something stupid.
“You really are an idiot.”
“Why what do you me-”
“I'm a student in that school you idiot.”
“Oh, well why didn't you tell me.”
She smacked me in the head and said.
“You didn't let me finish.”
