Prologue Part 1

April 1st, 2025, Spokane, Washington State.

“In an unprecedented event that has captured the attention of scientists and citizens alike, the entire Earth has been enveloped in a thick layer of clouds, prompting widespread speculation and concern. This atmospheric anomaly began to manifest two days ago, prompting many to suspect if this phenomenon is manmade, alien, or even made by god…”

Turning off the flatscreen TV, Andrew got up and looked around his apartment. Around him were drywall and a walkout window to the balcony outfront. Outside was the view of the city of Spokane, with its sprawling industrial centers gleaming in the night surrounded by the lush forests of the northwest.

Although he is not “successful” by the standards of the American dream, he definitely is not poor. In his room, books containing types of various guns were lying around. After barely succeeding college he made his living on cleaning, designing and testing various guns for the US military, he scraped enough money to make a living.

Getting up, he reached out and massaged his forehead, because there was a constant pounding of an arriving headache. “If god could cure headaches!” He thought to himself, or at least tried to, it was getting really hard to think. Stumbling out, he reached for some aspirins in a draw right next to his bed. After taking them he flopped onto the mattress and passed out.

However what he didn't know was that he actually had a sudden aneurysm that burst an artery in his brain, possibly making this his last night.

April 1st, 2025, Moscow, Russia.

In the heart of Eastern Europe, conflict ensues, particularly between Russia and Ukraine. Ever since Western aid to Ukraine had ceased, the Russians had taken advantage of the situation and launched a massive counteroffensive. The Ukrainians were being pushed back on all fronts, causing devastation and loss of life on both sides. The Russians, known for their lack of regard for their own people, were using huge numbers of soldiers to advance.

The Ukrainians, desperate and cornered, were forced to use all means to survive the Steel Torrent of the Russian military, even if such actions were controversial. As such Operation Bear Trap was commenced.

Operation Bear Trap was the Ukrainian trump card to hopefully end the war against the Russian Bear, or at least destroy the Putin regime permanently. The assassination of Putin.

Lonna Braverman, leader of the assassination, led the Ukrainian special forces group to infiltrate the Red Palace, killing as many as possible, especially high targets, such as but not limited to generals, officers, staff, and technicians.

“Go, Go, Go, Go! Putin’s straight ahead, glory to Mother Ukraine!” A Ukrainian assassin shouted as he shot several rounds from his rifle, killing a Russian Guard.

“Ah-!” The Russian who got shot tried to scream but was cut off as his head was blown off.

Of course while this was all happening the Russians weren’t playing around either. Many Ukrainians had already died clearing the path towards the Russian leader. As each Russian soldier or Guard was mowed down, two more would take his place. After all, this was Russian territory.

By the time Lonna could see the door leading to Putin’s safe room, she pulled out several high tech explosives from a sealed container and securely placed them on the rim of the 100mm steel door. Pressing a button she ducked far away to hide from the potential blast.

“BEEP, BEEP, BEEP, BEEP, BOOP, BOOOOOOOM!”

The blast, somewhat less explosive than expected, was made for penetration power, not damage, so the surrounding building did not collapse.

Kicking the door open, Lonna took her rifle out, pointed it at the shocked Putin and pulled the trigger.

“SHK, SHK.” Putin, surprised that the weapon jammed, looked at her gleefully as he bloated, “Compared to your Western weapons, weapons of the Soviet Union never experience failure!”

Lonna yelled,” My knife will do just fine, Glory to Ukraine!” As she Shifted her military knife from its holster.

Putin, not wanting to be outdone, pulled out his own personal dagger for self defense and charged at her.

As the two faced off It seemed as sparks would appear each time a knife came into contact with each other. The sharp sound of metal clashing echoed, in response to each bout that the knives touched.

A sudden faint drew Lonna forward, but a swift parry from Putin redirected the blade. Putin’s blade grazed Lonna’s cheek, gushing blood onto the floor.

“As expected for someone who served in the KGB for 16 years, I admit, I am inferior to close combat skills than you are.” Lonna winced.

“This fight is just delaying the inevitable, my Guards are coming in right this moment.” Putin responded indifferently.

Just then countless Russian Guards swarmed into the room, rifles pointed at Lonna, ready to fire at their leader’s order.

“Like I said, inevitable. I would suggest you say any last words before I order my men to shoot.” Putin addressed the seemingly cornered Lonna.

“HA, HA, HA, HA!” Lonna was looking around laughing like a maniac at them all. “You may have stopped me but you didn't stop the bomb. Now I can kill more Russians!”

Putin, realizing what had happened, shouted to the Guards, “Quick, shoot her! This maniac is trying to blow herself up!”

The Guards Quickly shot all types of caliber at Putin’s assailant. “RATATATATATATATA!”

As Lonna fell, the timer linked to electronic explosives underneath her suit closed in on zero. She took the time to shout her last sentence, “Glory to-BOOOOOOOOOOM!”

And that was it.

April 1st, 2025, Tokyo, Japan.

Ema Kato was living the life that many could only dream of.

With her flawless looks, immense talent, and overflowing wealth, she was the envy of many.

She was the lead singer of Japan's top J-Pop band and could play multiple instruments with ease.

But behind her picture-perfect facade, Ema was struggling with inner turmoil.

Just a few months ago, Ema had lost her best friend from high school in a tragic car accident.

And if that wasn't enough, her beloved dog had also passed away, leaving her feeling completely alone. She had always been the life of the party, but now she felt isolated and lost.

One day, instead of heading towards her luxurious five-star hotel, Ema found herself walking towards a small apartment building.

She called it her 'drinking room', a place where she could escape from her glamorous life and drown her sorrows in alcohol.

This apartment only had three stars and was not known to the public, so she didn't have to worry about fans bothering her.

As the night went on, the lights and music from Ema's apartment grew louder and brighter.

Inside, Ema was slurring her words and stumbling around, clearly under the influence of alcohol. She grabbed a bottle of sake and gulped it down, her breath reeking of alcohol.

She then crawled onto a stool and leaned towards a looped rope hanging from the ceiling. Without a second thought, Ema made the decision to end her life.

It was a decision fueled by grief, loneliness, and the alcohol clouding her judgment. As the rope tightened around her neck, Ema's life slowly slipped away.

Japan lost another talented singer, and the world mourned the loss of a rising star.

(That’s what Japan get’s for having high suicide rates).
