Chapter 12-New Nation, Elections and New Currency

As the sun dipped low on the horizon, casting a cool autumn glow over the crowded capital square with a platform hastily propped up as citizens hovered over with anticipation.

Under the rule of Kylia they have been given land, shelter and food. About five years ago all of this would be unheard of, many of these people would be starving, cold, and working on little plots of land that they didn't even own.

All of this understandably made these people very curious of what new shenanigans their Valord came out with. Each new policy or invention that came out either helped the public directly or indirectly. Tools, clothes, weapons and policies that promoted FREEDOM (AMERICA! **** YEAH!) were presented to the public in this very square, right outside Kylia’s manor.

As the crowd hushed down Kylia stood on the platform, her eyes sweeping over the sea of faces that filled the area, raising her hand, she beckoned her people to listen.

"My beloved subjects," she began, "Today, we stand on the brink of an epiphany of sentient kind. Never before had we lived better and freer lives. Men work in their very own fields, women can care for their families and children don't need to fear cold or hunger.”

Kylia then warned “However, beyond our borders, many wish to pillage our new lives, take our newfound freedom, our land will be taken, women forced back into the fields, children will starve, I will not allow this to happen!”

“Together, we will forge a new nation—one built on unity, hope, and freedom." Murmurs rippled through the crowd, and one brave little child called out from the front row, "But what will this new nation look like?"

Kylia smiled gently, "The name of this new nation will be the Kingdom of Kylia. It will be a land where every voice matters, a land of freedom, a land of the people! "

An elderly man who was a conservative and wasn’t too happy with all the change going around, leaned heavily on his cane, then rose slowly. "And how will these voices be spoken, My Valord? Will they be honored in this new land?"

Nodding thoughtfully, Kylia replied, "We will elect them of course, all 18 years of age and older will be eligible to vote. Those elected would represent different interest groups of the people. No one will be ignored!"

The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

The crowd erupted into applause, voices of support rising like a wave. A young woman stood and exclaimed, "Then let us begin this journey together! We want to be part of this transformation too!"

With a determined glint in her eye, Kylia then waved to her left towards some boxes, "Over here is where you cast your ballots, just tell your name and choice to the ballot man to your right and your vote will be written down."

The crowd swarmed to each ballot booth, for each booth had a different political party. There were many choices to choose from, some were clearly set up by the middle class trying to achieve dreams, such as John’s Party, some were more serious than others, like the Royalists, Liberals, Socialists, and Conservatives parties.

Kylia waited as ballots began pouring in, seeing that there were some people who were finished casting their ballots, she then announced. “For our new nation we also have to establish our own currency and national bank, as a symbol of our economic independence and sovereignty!”

“For too long, the Kylian people have relied on Hylian Rupees and Hylian banks to conduct our financial affairs. This has left us vulnerable to economic instability and the whims of Hyrule!”

“But today, we take back control of our economic destiny!”

Our new currency, the Kylian Kon, will represent our goals and values. It will be backed by the strength of our Kingdom and the hard work of our people. With this currency, we will have the power to determine our own economic policies and make decisions that benefit our citizens.

“But a currency is only as strong as its supporting institutions.” Kylia warned

Kylia then reassured the public. “That is why we have also established our own national bank, the Bank of Kylia. This bank will serve as the backbone of our financial system, ensuring stability and growth in our economy. It will provide necessary services such as lending, currency exchange, and monetary policy, all tailored to the needs of our nation.”

“I am confident that with the establishment of our currency and national bank, we will see a new era of prosperity for our country.”

“Our citizens will have access to fair and transparent financial services, our businesses will have a stable and supportive economic environment, and our nation will have the tools to navigate through any economic challenges that Hyrule throws our way.”

“I call upon all citizens to embrace this new currency and support our national bank. Let us work together to build a strong and vibrant economy that will benefit all of us.”

“Thank you, and SLAVA KILIYI!”

“SLAVA KILIYI!” The citizens of Kylia City cheered as they gathered around the newly constructed National Bank, waiting to try out the new paper currency called the Kylian Kon.

As Kylia’s banking officials began to exchange the new currency out for Rupees, the crowd murmured with excitement.

The Kylian Kon was a blue note, adorned with Kylia’s sideways K shaped horn and intricate designs. It was a stark contrast to the plain and heavy gems of the Hylian Rupee they were used to.

Only a very few citizens were skeptical, wondering if this new currency would hold any value. But those who were, as they examined the notes, were pleasantly surprised to find that they were made of high-quality paper and had intricate security measures to prevent counterfeiting.

Most were patriotic, eagerly exchanging their old Hylian Rupees for the new Kylian Kons.

They were impressed by how much easier it was to carry and count the new currency, and they hoped it would bring stability to their economy.
