After everyone reigned in their surprise seeing Solstice having killed two demonic beasts, Irian and Tyrion began to wonder what sort of hellish training the kid had gone through.
Unknown to Solstice and the children, a demonic beast wasn’t by any means an easy prey. In Aevis people typically went by ranks going from E, D, C, B, A, and S. Ranks are typically determined by either martial arts proficiency or mana capacity. Then once you hit B rank it’ll factor in control and understanding of your pathway.
What makes S ranks so powerful is their control over their pathway. You can always load up all your mana in one fireball, but someone could just as easily compress a shot to split your massive fireball in half to make output completely obsolete. Control and understanding always reign supreme. Only God-like people have gone above that S rank but for normal people it's basically mythical. Let it be known a demonic beast has a power level of around D and C rank, so seeing a 10-year-old kill two by himself is an act never heard of before.
If there was one thing Ivis did not lack, it was intelligence. As time went on coming to this cabin, he felt himself getting more and more depressed. He now understood why Luna had zero interest in him, it was like equating a man to a child.
“Telarion my old friend! What in god's name are you putting that kid through?” Asked Tyrion in the most natural way he could. Even Tyrion felt himself losing his composure seeing this “monster”. He could only hope his son wouldn’t do something stupid or try to compete with this monstrosity.
While the grown-ups were discussing stuff, they separated the three children from them. Currently Luna was latched onto Solstices arm. All Ivis could do was watch and introduce himself.
“Hello Solstice, my name's Ivis Lightmane and I'm the Prince of the Lightmane Kingdom who rules over all humans.” Ivis said while cocking his head back, he was hoping in some way he would intimidate Solstice with his status.
All he got back from Solstice was a nod and he reached out for a handshake. Ivis smirked when he saw the lack of response from Solstice. Ivis inwardly thought he was intimidated by his status as a prince. So, when he went to shake his hand, he immediately regretted it.
When their hands locked together all Ivis could feel and hear was cracking. Solstice broke his entire hand and continued to raise him and casually throw him one handed back to the ground next to his father. All he heard from Solstice was “I don't enjoy being around people who flaunt status, grow up.”

Luna giggled seeing how casually Ivis was thrown across the yard. Meanwhile Tyrion was sitting next to the adults only to see his son flying to the floor next to him clutching his shattered hand. He could only sigh and neck chop his son to knock him out. He knew when they got home, he would have to beat- I mean teach his son on how to act.
Solstice didn’t think less of Ivis over this, he was never a people person to begin with since he was only ever with his family and his mentors all the time. He didn’t act like his age; he was a lot like his father and acted on his instincts. The only person his age he considered a “friend” was Luna. But all she ever did was act like a lovestruck fool around him. Her insistence on everything is what kept her around, definitely not his father whispering to him all the time about how bad he wants to see his son have a harem when Ariel wasn’t around…
“At the ceremony there’s going to be a lot of nobles so I’m hoping we can invite the elves and also Solstice to this, in hopes of fostering relationships between the younger generation.” Said Tyrion who had hope practically oozing from his face.
“This is all up to Irian, I was going to send Solstice to the elven gathering but if he agrees I won’t mind sending my son also.” Said Ariel, she didn’t truly care about any of this, she kind of wanted it to happen so she could show off how much better her son was then everyone else’s.
“Because of my respect for you Tyrion, I’ll allow it, but if any altercations arise? It’s up to you to handle it. Do I make myself clear? Safety better not be an issue.” Irian sternly stated.
He was very protective of his people, and it truly showed his love for them. Tyrion had always tried to maintain justice and reform his people, so Irian was willing to give him a shot at fostering ties with the elves at least.
The ceremony they’re speaking of is for when children turn into teens and awaken mana. There’s a special artifact which is an orb that detects what affinity a person has. What affinity you have affects what branch of magic you’ll be able to delve into. Basic elements are fire, water, wind, and earth. Then you get to the rarer types of magic like dark, light, lightning, ice, poison and summoning. Some types of magic are limited to your race like nature for elves, metal for dwarves, blood for vampires, corruption for demons, and divine magic for angels to name a few.
Most people only awaken one affinity while talented people could awaken two. Tyrion could be counted as talented since he had lightning and light, making him one of the fastest fighters in Aevis.
There are a few ways to gain more affinities but it's either through very dangerous means or very fortunate means. Most ways involve the soul while some could be as simple as concocting a potion, needless to say the potions themselves are incredibly rare and are never really seen. So people who’ve gone through these encounters are either incredibly wealthy or incredibly luck to say the least.
