“Alright everyone it’s time to purge these invaders! Make rounds around the capital and make sure they all meet their demise!” Tyrion yelled and every guard that survived immediately went on a witch-hunt to exterminate the invaders who caused so much harm to their families. As Tyrion looked away, he saw Ariel just staring at the center of the circle where her spell just took place.
“Now you regret it don’t you? It’s hard keeping up that facade of not caring, should’ve listened to me.” Tyrion patted her on the back and began to walk away before hearing Ariel mutter to herself.
“My sister told me to do it….. But why would she tell me to do something that hurts this bad…” Ariel was barely keeping herself together until Irian appeared and pulled her close.
“Don’t let people see this side of you, let’s go somewhere else.” With this he carried off Ariel to somewhere private to allow herself to mourn. Tyrion only held disdain for the woman now for just abandoning her own son. He looked over and saw his son slightly battered from the battle, but he would easily pull through.
“You did a fine job; with this I think our image will improve a lot.” Right as Tyrion went to embrace his son, Ivis smacked his father's arms away.
“I don’t need your sympathy, what I want is for you to tell me where they sent him.” Ivis was a fairly rational person but seeing his friend just sent away with hundreds of enemies made him feel an anger he never felt before.
“All I know is the name, The Abyss. As to how you’re going to get there. Beats me, I couldn’t stop the plan when almost all the rulers were voting for it so don’t act like I didn’t try.” After his father said this Ivis just kicked the dirt and walked away to go let out his frustrations.
Right where Solstice was laying down, both Luna and Lily who were just staring at his bloodstains.
“We still couldn’t stop it, what’s the point of us even trying anymore…” Lily just sat there in complete defeat, she trained so hard only to have her father's personal guards force her away from the fight and leave Solstice out to dry, same as Luna. The amount of hatred both of the girls had for their fathers was at an all-time high now.
“I didn’t believe her at first, but she was right, maybe I will trust her and use this thing.” Luna looked at her hand and it held a mirror with a black screen on it that showed the name Solstice on it.
“What is that?” Lily was curious as to why the mirror had his name on it.
“You saw that person in the hood jump on top of Solstice, right? Well, she was the daughter of the beast kin alliance leader Ryota. She’s a diviner or something like that? Long story short she knew this would happen and gave me a way to reach him, I didn’t really believe it until now, but I think I’ll just try it, worst case I die but what’s the point of he’s not around.” Luna pricked her finger and dropped blood on it but before it activated Lily smeared her blood on the mirror too and a dark shadow enveloped the both of them and they vanished.
“Shit.”
“Fuck.” Said the guards who were responsible for each daughter. Their fate was sealed the moment the girls vanished.
——The Abyss
Solstice began to stir awake and immediately felt someone on top of him, he shifted and saw it was the hooded figure that jumped on top of him as they got teleported away. Suddenly he heard a sound that resembled Alpha 2’s rifle when he shot his kneecap, he looked over and saw hundreds of soldiers that teleported with him were all out cold minus a handful that were currently running at another man who was gunning them all down casually while dancing.
The man was only around 5’5 so fairly short, was slightly pudgy and had jet black hair, but he handled his gun incredibly well and gave no time for the few invaders to actually make it to him. After the handful of invaders all died the man with black hair began executing the people who still had yet to wake up with only one shot to the head. Finally, the man made it to Alpha 2 and spit on his body and kicked his groin afterwards a few times before shooting his head five more times. All that was left of the Alpha 2 was a blown up head and bloody crotch area where his family jewels used to be.
“Little bitch, should’ve thought twice before siding with that psycho ass.” The black-haired man said before shifting his attention to Solstice, this triggered Solstice's fight or flight, but he couldn’t move so he just pulled the hooded figure under him and tried to shield her.
“Relax, I’m here for you anyways but that elven lady didn’t tell me about a guest, but I’ll let it slide. I love fox girls, so you got lucky.” The man naughtily wagged his finger before walking around again and getting rid of the last of the invaders.
“This guy's eccentric, keep your guard up.” Victor had been silent trying to gauge the black-haired man, but he was at a loss, the guy had weird mannerisms and was clearly not from Aevis.
Out of nowhere a shadow appeared and seemingly dropped off two girls which caught Solstice and the black-haired man off guard, before the black-haired man could shoot, he saw both of the girls rush towards Solstice and check on him, seeing they only had love for the man he decided to leave them be and just ooze envy.
“Why can’t I be the main character? I hate this dogshit isekai.” The black-haired man muttered before finishing up the last of the invaders.
“Just sit still.” Luna instantly began to use light magic and attempt to heal and purify all the corruption in his body while Lily stared at the hooded girl who was still out cold.
“Who is that guy?” Lily asked inquisitively.
“No idea, but he hasn’t tried to kill me so just don’t anger him.” Solstice said, slowly he was feeling better from Luna’s healing so he felt he could speak more and stand soon.
“Man I hate your main characters who get all the girls, I’m a nice guy too! Why can’t I get a nice cat girl or something like that?” The black-haired man walked towards Solstice and dropped an artifact on the ground that created a force field around them.
“Why are you not killing us?” Solstice bluntly asked.
“Why? Well, I’ve been waiting for you so why would I kill the kid I'm supposed to help?” The black-haired man said casually.
A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
“How did you know we would come here?”
“Some hot elf chick told me a while back ago, so I just waited here since I had nothing better to do, she was like a fortune teller, shit was wild. Most of the stuff she said came true so now I’m here. By the way my name is Carter.” Carter said while holding his hand out for a handshake but was only met with looks of curiosity.
“I’m not going to bite geez, so just shake my damn hand.” Carter emphasized his hand and finally Solstice shook it.
“Good, now let’s get out of here, this place sucks.” Solstice hadn't looked around since he woke up but looking around gave him shivers. The sky was gone and only a black abyss with shattered stars was above them, the terrain was also black with purple radiating from the ground. Some crystals were present that had purple hues, and worst of all there were all kinds of monsters in the distance seemingly waiting for them to let their guard down to eat them.
“Don’t even try to fight those creatures, they won’t come near because of this piece of gear I have but some are still risk takers.” Carter flashed a badge that was radiating a weird aura around their vicinity.
Everyone took note of their savior's advice, Luna helped Solstice up while Lily started to carry Harumi.
“My place is right up here so it shouldn’t take too long.” Carter pointed to a desolate looking mountain around a mile away that was surrounded by teal-colored clouds.
After around half an hour they arrived at a door that was made from some foreign type of metal, Carter just walked up to a keypad and input a code which then opened the giant metal door allowing entry.
“Set both of them down on that table so I can check on them. The two of you can just make yourselves at home.” Carter said while heading to another room to grab medical supplies.
When Carter returned, he saw the entire group stayed together and only sighed.
“I feel like I’m talking to walls today. Anyways, strip down for me so I can check your body for more corruption.” Carter was hoping Solstice would be lacking in the lower department but once he saw his package, he immediately became dispirited.
“I really can’t have shit in this world can I god?” Carter cried internally while examining Solstice's entire body before finding a patch of corruption on his inner thigh.
“This is going to hurt a lot, so hold on.” Carter placed a light from another artifact that resembled a lamp and slowly but surely the patch vanished.
Carter made his way over to Harumi and activated another artifact attached to the table she was on that emitted a green light that went across her body.
“She’s fine just exhausted so let her sleep it off. We’ve got a lot of talking to do.” Carter waved Solstice to follow him, who was carefully followed by both Luna and Lily.
Through another set of metal doors that slid open they entered another room that had futuristic looking furniture and a bar with many drinks.
“Take a seat, you guys can’t drink yet so I’ll go ahead and make myself something real nice.” Carter rubbed his hands together excited to finally get some alcohol.
After a few minutes Carter sat down across from Solstice.
“Ask away, I know you’ve got more questions.” Carter said while casually sipping on his margarita.
“Who are you exactly? You're eccentric.” Asked Luna bluntly.
“I’m Carter, I’m not from this universe if that’s what you’re asking. I’m from America but I have no idea how to get back.”
“America?” Lily asked.
“It’s a country like where you guys are from, just not from this world.”
“Why are you here and not in America?”
“You tell me, I went to sleep one day and next thing I know I’m stuck in this universe. No idea how many years ago that happened though, lost count.”
“Did you know Alpha 2? You seemed to hold a grudge against him.” Solstice said while thinking back to how differently he treated him.
“Alpha 2? Cringe as shit. His name was John, and he was from America too, but he sided with the other group.”
“Other group? How many more are there of you?” Solstice was slowly getting more worried, if there was an army of men like John then his world was screwed.
“Not many, we had around a hundred of us but over time people got drunk on power and started doing stupid stuff. From that two groups formed, mine was the passive faction that wanted to live with the natives while the other faction headed by Maverick wanted to go home by taking over everything.”
Solstice sighed in relief before having another flurry of questions.
“Where’s the rest of your group?”
“Dead. All of them…”
“Maverick did it I assume?”
“Yep, rat bastard.” Carter just swirled his drink, seemingly lost in thought.
“You said an elven chick came to you?”
“Yeah, she said something about a half dragon and half elf kid would show up around this time and asked me to help you correct everything. Never mentioned all these girls though.” He began to explain his meeting how some ethereal entity randomly appeared before his group was wiped out by Maverick.
“I think that was your mother's sister, no?” Said Luna looking over at Solstice.
“Probably, but she’s dead now so I can’t really ask her.”
“I can verify that she did that.” Victor chimed in.
“I believe you, but how can I trust you?” Solstice said sternly, he had to worry about the girls with him now, so he had to be careful.
“As long as you kill Maverick then me and you are going to be best friends.” Carter repositioned himself and sat up seriously for once.
“I can help you attain unbelievable power, but it isn’t training you’re used to.”
“What kind of training?” Solstice knew he needed tons of power but wasn’t hopeful it would be fast.
“It’s all about knowledge, your world is so underdeveloped because of magic it’s comical.” Carter got up and walked towards his desk and pulled out one book.
“This book right here could give you the power to rival your cores guardian if you can understand it.”
“That’s not possible, is it?” Solstice was trying not to get too excited over it, it seemed too good to be true.
“It’s true, but you're going to need a decent amount of time to really understand all of this. But since I’m here to teach you, I can cut that time by almost half.” Carter prided himself on being a genius since he had multiple degrees in almost every field of study.
“All I’ve got to do is understand that book?”
“Yea, but if I’m being honest, we’ve got to focus on one book for now so only two of your affinities will get massive power ups. The rest you’ve got to work on yourself.” Carter tossed a book over to Solstice that was titled “Physics for Idiots”.
“This is the easiest book I could come up with for your gravity and spatial magic. While you work on that I’ll try to set up a training space for you and your damn harem.” Carter started to walk away but was interrupted by Lily and Luna.
“Do we get books too?” Both of them were interested in getting power too but they didn’t share the same affinity as Solstice.
“I can make quick ones for the two of you if you tell me what you want, but only one element for each of you. You guys aren’t even supposed to be here, so you owe me, maybe when you get back home set me up with a car girl or something?” Carter was practically pleading with the two girls at this point.
“We can try, but don’t get your hopes up.”
“Deal.” He opened his desk up and tossed a book pertaining to fire to Lily while tossing another pertaining to plants to Luna.
“It’s good to have lots of affinities but don’t let yourself lose yourself in variety, focus on one and once you master it move to the next. Especially you over there you damn monster.” Carter pointed over to Solstice who was already stumped on his book.
“Man, I hate teaching.” Carter rubbed his face before heading over to Solstice to begin explaining already.
Here began a weird friendship between a “main character” and a man who was isekai’d from his home.
