Chapter 6

You are weakened by the sun.

I walked along the path the creatures made heading into and out of their cave. I sent a small bit of my lighting with the intent to cause pain to a large bird I saw sitting on a branch.

-10 mana

When the lightning hit the bird it started screaming in pain and fell from the branch. When the bird landed on the ground it got up and flew off as fast as it could. After this I continued walking along the path until I met one of the small creatures. It was holding a spear and once it noticed me it pointed the spear at me.

-500 mana

I tried it again to see if what I thought I could do is really what I could do. The lightning hit and the creature screamed as if it was dying. It fell to the floor and laid there motionless. Great its heart is still beating. I really can separate the damage from the pain. I sat there waiting for the creature to wake up. While waiting the creatures attempted to surround me thinking they were hidden. I marked them one by one as they started to surround me. When they were ready I stood up.

“You can put your weapons down and take me to your leader or I can do what I did to this one to you all as well.” I stated aloud. They wavered a bit with indecision. “He is not dead and neither will you be. He only felt the pain of dying. If he wakes up and refuses to submit I will do it again. Same goes for anything that does not drop its weapon now.” I waited for a second for them to comply. A couple dropped them immediately then about half of what was left dropped them.

-2000 mana

Screams echoed through the forest. The ones who dropped their weapons now covered their ears as they ducked to avoid the arcing lightning. The ones who were still standing shivered in fear as they checked on the ones on the ground. As the screams stopped the first one to face my wrath awoke. He scrambled backwards in an attempt to get away. He even forgot to grab his spear to defend himself with.

“I will not hurt you so long as you do what I say. Pick up your spear and lead the way to your leader. Anything that stands in my way from now on will die. The rest of you carry your stupid friends who dared not drop their weapons with us. I may need to re-educate some of them.”

After saying this I kicked the creatures spear to him and motioned for him to move forward. As he shakingly reached for the spear he got up and started moving towards the cave. Once at the cave mouth the one I kicked the spear to spoke up.

“Master is inside. We go no farther. You talk with master. He big one with many females.” said the creature who lead the way.

I entered the cave and the feeling of power rushed back into me.

I stepped forwards further into the cave waiting for the creature to notice me. I could see him below me in a decent sized cavern connected to this part by a tunnel that lead down. He didn’t notice me at all. Completely oblivious to my existence. That is until the women surrounding him started speaking. They finished and he started heading through the tunnel.

-2000 mana

He stepped out of the tunnel carrying his huge club and roared at me. I let loose my lightning and that roar quickly turned into a blood chilling scream. He passed out like all the others did. I grabbed the green creature by his hair and dragged him back to his chambers. As expected the women cowered upon my entry.

“Stop pretending to be afraid. I know you are the ones in charge. This idiot did not even notice I entered his area. Much less would he be able to organize those others out there with such accuracy as to work together and attempt to surround me.” I said.

They stopped feigning fear and suddenly answered back “You are correct. We are in charge. That one is nothing more than a figurehead. What do you want from us?”

“I need slaves. Well that was my original purpose in coming here. I did not expect to find such competent people here. I already have the slaves I need. Those creatures up there will do just fine and they are much too afraid to betray me. You four on the other hand seem to be of actual use. I know one of you is a blacksmith. Those spears are too high quality to be made by those creatures outside.” I said.

“You are right they are too good for them to have made them. I tried to make it look reasonable for them to have made it. You plan on taking our only way of survival. Our small group that we have been attempting to make stronger.” The speaker said.

I paused for a moment then said “No. I am offering you the ability to lead them yourselves instead of through this idiot. I am sure they will be much more useful being led by you four.”

“Queens of slaves is no better position than being a slave yourself.” one of the others shot off in response.

“True you will no longer be queens of this pile of rubble. You will however be a servant of something truly powerful. Look how easily I ripped through the entirety of your defences. Do you think the Church of Freya could not do the same? I am being kind and offering you the chance to rise above being the queens of rubble and join me.” I stated calmly.

“We will accept no lower than Generals and the option of being able to break off later and become independent. If these terms are not acceptable we would rather sit here and die.” the speaker replied.

“That seems fine. However you do need to properly train those outside. If they do not listen tell me and I will force them to listen. Also make sure they stop stinking I can not have my territory smelling horribly.” I said. Then I continued “ Let us go outside and tell them who their true leaders are.”

I walked to the caves mouth while dragging the unconscious body of the false leader. “This is your leader correct?” I said as I lifted his unconscious body with one hand.

With my new blood sword I decapitated him. Then said “Now it is dust. They are your leaders now.” as I said this the four goblin queens stepped forwards. I then continued as they stared and seemed discontent with what I had said “If you disrespect them I will count it as disrespecting me. You all know how that turns out. They will get you ready” I then turned to the four queens and said quietly “Do you you know where the wolves den is? That is where our current base will be.”

The same one as always spoke “Yes we know of the place.”

After she said this I used vampiric run to get through the forest and back to the wolves den. At the wolves den there sat Jack sitting in the cave entrance playing with some small creature. I then asked “How did the spider cave go?”

“It went well all things considered. That was not the entrance. That was a hole you blew above the spider witches sleeping area. Made it much easier to kill her but much harder to kill all the spiders as they just hid back in their webs. I got them all. I even got this spider egg which hatched into a spider. It apparently is now my pet. How did it go on your end? I assume they were goblins.” he said

“Yes they were goblins. Well I got them to be my slaves and all I had to do was give them some motivation. Besides the dumb ones I managed to get us four goblin queens to lead them. Also there may be some followers of freya still stupid enough to come here.” I said.

“Motivation. Sure if thats what you want to call it. Pretty sure you didn’t just give a little speech and they decided to follow you. I heard the screams all the way in the spider cave. Anyways about those Goblin Queens you mentioned I have never heard of goblins having queens. I am quite sure that Goblins are ruled by the one that is the biggest and the strongest.” Jack said.

“They do not seem to be normal goblins. They were controlling the biggest male from behind the scenes. One of them is very good with blacksmithing. Not quite sure what the others do. Speaking of them here they come.” I said. The four of them walked into the cave. I then continued “These are the goblin queens I was talking about.”

They looked at Jack and then started talking rapidly between each other in a language I could not understand. After they finished talking amongst themselves the speaker of the group stepped towards me.

“I will contact our orders leader about the false shade behind you.” She said as she pointed towards jack. She continued. “He is currently wielding an image that does not belong to him nor has he passed the trials that would allow him the honor of looking like one of our leaders race.” After saying this she began walking towards the cave entrance.

I placed my blood sword between her and the cave. “Who said you could just decide who you can contact and tell about me and my companion?” I questioned.

“I am much more afraid of displeasing her than anything you can possibly do with your abilities. She already knows about it anyways. The only difference between me contacting her and me remaining silent is a single day and a fate worse than death.” She stated.

I followed her as she walked slowly deeper into the darkest parts of the cave.
