---------Chapter 2-unedited
As I stepped through the tunnel I remembered my father's words on what I should do if I ever needed a detailed report on the state of my body. I stated status window aloud and a translucent window appeared.

As I read the translucent window I wondered why I was half way dead. I checked for open wounds or bruises but had none. I finally started to look around where I ended up. In front of me was a book on a black pedestal. As I stared at the book it seemed to call me want me to come closer to read it. As I walked closer to the book the feeling became stronger it was no longer a want but a need. When I opened the book the first page cut thinly at my finger. As I looked down at the blank page with a single drop of blood on it the blood faded away and in its place was blood red words saying Welcome Young Master.
Upon reading these words the pages flipped rapidly to a picture of a small building with the word library above it.
*crack*
The blank stone brick area in front of me started falling apart. the cracks spread to about a meter or two from the pedestal. As this happened I stepped back quickly so as not to fall into the gaping blackness that was left where the bricks of stone fell in. Soon after a building slowly rose from the darkness as I looked at the building rising from the darkness I felt it looked familiar. It was the same building from the book. When the building stopped rising the doors flung open. I decided to head to the library with the book. As I tried to lift the book it refused to move no matter how hard i tried. In the end I just left it there. As i walked into the library I first noticed the rows upon rows of books. Each row labeled differently. As I was about to go look for more information on this place I heard a cough from behind me obviously meant to get my attention. As I turned around I saw a man behind me. Well not a man more of a ghost.
As I stared at him he asked “Is that any way to greet your grandfather? Baring your fangs as if I was an enemy or prey? Put them away before I break them off.”
I stared confused my grandfather was a vampire and upon death vampires souls are destroyed along with them. I then thought about what he said after about my fangs. I didn’t remember having fangs. As I looked around for a reflective surface I saw a mirror then I saw the image of myself in the mirror. My long black hair knotted and unkempt my dark bloodstained clothes. Then I looked at my face. It was so different from before my eyes had changed from a dark brown to a smoldering black that seemed to never end and from my mouth protruded two fangs where my canine teeth used to be. As I looked and concentrated on putting them away they shrank a bit.
My “grandfather” called out “They won’t just go away because you tell them to you have to calm down and release your anger.”
I stared at him. Finally I spoke after ordering my thoughts “Let go of my anger? How can I do that when the man who murdered my parents it most likely being praised for doing so? How can I do that when the people of my city are being hunted and killed just for being in the city they lived in? How am i supposed to LET GO OF MY ANGER?!? I finished in a roar.
My “grandfather” calmly said “You think I am not angry? I just watched my only son get killed. I just watched the last of my empire that I built crumble. Do you not think I am not angry?” as he said this fangs appeared in his mouth and his eyes turned from a dull brown to a solid black with red specks floating within.
After he noticed he turned away for a few seconds. Then he turned back and his fangs were gone and his eyes were back to a dull brown. He then said “Letting go of your anger is the first part of being able to see clearly. It is what will allow you to use everything you have to seek your revenge.”
As I focused on calming down and letting go of my anger it started to go away. Only to immediately flare up.
My grandfather spoke up “The library will do you no good in this state. Follow me.” after he said this he walked out of the library silently to the book on the pedestal. As I left the library the doors closed with a thud. As I headed to the pedestal he beckoned me closer the spoke “You’re more like your father than I thought.Unnerved by almost anything but once shaken the flame is almost impossible to be put out. Open the book and look for the picture labeled arena.”
As I looked for the page I saw many other pages such as a smithy a archers range and a mages tower. When i finally reached the page labeled arena I stopped. The picture was an aerial view of a giant oval filled with sand with a gate at the top and a gate at the bottom all of this surrounded by an oval of slanted raised seating.
As i looked at it a huge area next to use started to crumble. As i moved away I could hear my grandfather chuckle. Red in the face from being laughed at for the first time in my life I corrected my posture and stood still and waited for the building to raise.
After it arose we walked over to it once we entered I noticed a man standing in the sand. “Who is that man? I asked confused. To this my grandfather replied “ You will find out soon enough. Before we start your combat training you will need to watch this” with a wave of his hand the air shimmered turned dark then a image of the inner sanctuary appeared.
Inside the sanctuary was my father my mother and me as I watched my father and mother bite into my neck the point of view changed to that of directly in front of the window. I heard a thud and shatter as my body was flung towards me and shattered the window then a sudden crack as the door was splintered open by a kick from a steel boot.
As the wood was flying my mother started chanting in an unknown language and my father summoned his sword. From the shattered door flew a man with a silver edged bloody greatsword. As the man flew towards my father he slashed downwards intent on killing him. My father blocked the sword with the back of his black blade then kicked the man in the chest sending him flying back through the door. As the man flew the constant chanting from my mother stopped and was replaced by gurgling when i looked to where my mother was behind one of the pillars she was standing with her throat slit by a hidden assassin. As my father turned to face the assassin I could hear the thunderous footsteps of the running paladin returning to finish the fight. As my father swung to kill the assassin he missed and used the momentum to block the paladins sword only to lose his sword arm to the assassin. Allowing the paladins sword to slice through my father. Then came the scream from my mother after she had finished healing her throat only to be silenced by her decapitation by the paladin. Then a splash as my body hit the moat. The image turned to the moat as my body was eaten by one of the unknown animals in the moat. Then i heard laughter as the paladin and assassin laugh as they said “This quest was so easy.” then the image cut out as my parents bodies turned to ash.
I took another look towards the arena center where the man stood and noticed it was the same man. I burst off the stands towards the man with nothing but intent to kill.

As I flew to him he looked up and smiled at me. My fury flared. I swung both my swords for his throat. He swung his sword towards me.

In a flash of light I appeared back on the stands. My grandfather sitting in a chair beside me. I looked down saw him smiling confidently towards me from the center of the arena. I flew once again towards him.

As I flew through the air I stared at him smiling there confidently with my sword blade in his hand. He crushed it
Your sword has been broken
You have lost 300 health

Again I appeared in the same place. My grandfather now drinking wine. My spirits crushed I just sat there.
With a smile he chuckled then said “Just like your father” he paused then said “You created that skill much faster than your father. I guess you just had better motivation than he did. Are you finally ready to start your real training? If you are make another one of those blood swords.”
Once he was done I created a blood sword

I felt a slight pain throughout my veins. Once I created it. He motioned for me to examine it I lifted it up and said “examine”

…….I stared at the sword…..It was useless…..a stick would have been better…
my grandfather spoke up seeing my crestfallen face “Mind if i take a look? Say show item info”
“show item info” I whispered to ashamed to show it out loud.My grand father started laughing as i swung at him with the sword he blocked with his glass cup upon impact my sword shattered. Its only accomplishment was making him laugh harder. When he was finally done laughing he said “Knew it. Knew your father would do that. Didn’t teach you a single crafting skill did he.Even sewing would have made a sword with more durability than that.” another bout of laughter and he continued “Well seems we will have to start elsewhere than sword training. Might as well start with smithing.” With that he started walking out of the arena only to laugh every 10 steps or so. When we finally made it back to the book I opened it up and looked for the blacksmith area. Upon finding it I left the page open for a while. Nothing happened. I looked a bit longer still nothing. I turned around to my grandfather. Then i heard the familiar ground cracking. He then said “You have to let go of the book for it to start” That would explain it not starting. I looked to where the blacksmiths area was raising and started to walk to it. Once it was fully raised I walked in.
The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
Inside was a large man with a hammer as he noticed me he said “Ah the next in line to become king has arrived to learn how to work with metal. Good Good come over here and grab the gear on the mannequin. As I walked over to him i noticed the mannequin behind him had a hammer an apron a pair of gloves and a set of goggles. As I identified them I looked at the fire and remembered what my nurse had spoken of about our army burning in the sunlight. I looked towards my grandfather and asked “Why did our army burn during sunrise?”. He sighed and said “Remember when your mother died while she was chanting? Well that chant would have transferred ownership of the castle over to you. With the chant only partly finished only the land belongs to you. There was a spell long ago cast by one of our kind that caused the sun to do no damage so long as a vampire owned the mana within the land. Without a vampire owning the mana within the land the sun turns back to being just as deadly as it used to be. You own the land there but not the mana. Anytime you are in Draconia the land and animals will attempt to aid you such as when you fell into the moat and the basilisk carried you to safety. If you owned the mana there you would not have a mana limit within Draconia.I hope that satisfies your curiosity. If not you will have to ask your magic teacher when we get to that point. For now just focus on what is in front of you.”
I looked at the info for the mannequin equipped gear.

When I equipped the training gear I noticed some messages
black smithing skill has been created
black smithing skill is now beginner level 1 +3
After those messages popped up my grandfather told me to summon my sword and look at its info.

Thats nice at least it doesn’t just go away.
My grandfather said “The durability is made by design and your blacksmithing skill. Damage is based on design blacksmithing skill and intent. It is a vampires blade and as you know from the castle you have lived in all your life one thing a vampire does not tolerate is ugly.”
“cough” The blacksmith said “If you are done playing around with your new toy would you mind paying attention to the lesson?”
-100 health
I looked back to see a hammer covered in my blood.
“Now pay attention this is important the system the gods set in place will teach you how to blacksmith my job is to teach you how to blacksmith well. You may be able to craft swords and armor with your blood creation but there are things you can not make with it as well.” He paused “Do you remember your father’s sword? Was it just red like yours is? No it isn’t blood creation is not the end goal it is the start. Later you will be able to create a personal sword. For now we need to focus on forging blades the vampiric way. Imagine a bowl. Now try to create that bowl with blood magic. Make the bowl as thin as possible so as to use the least amount of blood possible.”
-25 health
Bowl has been created
“Good good at least you’re competent at this part unlike your father. With him we ended up having to make a sword with an indent in the back instead of a bowl. Now imagine your blood flowing from your veins into the bowl filling the bowl with your blood.”
-100 health
The blacksmith stared in wonder before speaking “What is this. This is not a liquid. This is a solid.”. He grabbed the bowl and flipped it over. Clank. The blood hit the floor and shattered.
“Guess you’re not much better at this than your father.Make a knife and cut your finger then pour the blood in the bowl.”

“Ok now that thats over with time to teach you the traits of vampiric blood. Number one it does not burn unless in contact with holy fire or light from the sun with no light resistance. Number two a non vampire drinking a vampires blood enhances the bond between them when they become a vampire. Number three vampire blood can be mixed with almost anything and will give it some kind of property or help along the way” said the blacksmith. He then continued “We will be working with blood and metals here specifically iron. Blood and iron mixing is simple. You just pour the blood in and you’re done. The blood will work on the measurements it will balance it and it will separate the mixed blood and iron from the non-mixed leaving you two piles one of bloodiron the other of blood or iron. Bloodiron is one of the simplest materials to work with it only needs to be shaped by your will. However if you lose concentration on the form it will damage the final outcome. Now pour your blood into the forge the iron is already prepared.”
I poured my blood into the forge. I started to imagine two swords made of a shiny new steel perfectly polished with a edge so sharp I could slice through anything easily. Slowly Blood steel rose from the forge and formed a blade as i sat there imagining my swords final form. After it formed I reached out to grab it only for it to be snatched away.
blacksmithing level up
“Hmm very good very good indeed. For a first try. Immediately after he through them back into the furnace and they rejoined the Liquid Bloodiron. Do it again until you can no longer lvl blacksmithing.” The smith said.

After two days making and destroying all manner of weapon blades I could think of I reached blacksmithing intermediate lvl 3. My grandfather then said “Good we are done here you reached beginner lvl 10 the farthest you can go for now. Put the gear away and lets move onto the next area” Thus my blacksmithing went back down to beginner lvl 10.
